Scared. Part 7
Louise decided that she had to get away from this horrible cruel villain. She must find a way to escape. She was on her own. She had to get away. She remembered her dad's words: "If you know you are in danger when you are alone, run! Run for your life, if you can - or fight."
She had to find a way. She will plan her escape thoroughly. She will trust in the Lord to help her. She prayed that He would give her the wisdom and strength to know what to do at the right time.
She would stay alert and analyze every move he made. He was bound to make a mistake sometime. After, what seems like hours to her, he woke up. It was still dark, but she sensed that he was in a hurry.
She kept her eyes closed. He slapped her in the face to wake her up. He was like an animal. Cruel and heartless.
"We must get out of here," he said, while he untied her hands.
As the night before, he grabbed her one hand in his and his bag in the other hand. While he reached for his bag, she managed to drop an earring with her free hand. She prayed that somebody would find it.
He tied her hands again before he drove off with her. She preferred that over a bash against the head or drugs in her cold drink.
She closed her eyes. She did not want to see or hear him. She wished she was dead. She must have drifted into a restless sleep. She opened her left eye cautiously. A road sign showing Rustenburg ten kilometers away.
Her heart was pounding anxiously. Her brother lived in Rustenburg. This might be the answer to her prayers.
Suddenly he stopped at the side of the road, opened the door, and disappeared into the bushes alongside the road.
She noticed the key, still dangling in the ignition. She tried to loosen her hand from the gear lever, but it was too tight.
Then she tried her left hand, by pushing down on the door handle with her left arm, she might be able to slip it out.
She prayed aloud: "Please, dear Lord, help me!"
She tried again and her hand slipped from the handle. Focus Louise, she told herself.
She battled to loosen her right hand. Her heart was bouncing against her rib cage. At last, she managed it.
She was too scared to drive away. It might result in a fatal mistake.
She grabbed the keys from the ignition. Opened the door and slipped out. She ran wildly in the opposite direction.
She heard him screaming from the bushes. She did not dare to look back. She just ran harder.
