What Fresh Hell Is This?!

After the gang returned home from the courthouse, Allison sat down at the kitchen table and sobbed. Pepper, Wanda and Hatchet-Face sat around trying to comfort her, while Cry-Baby, Dupree and Milton got on the phone with some lawyers, trying to get Blue out of her sentence.

Allison sniffed as she wiped her eyes. "My baby girl has been thrown into that damn school!" She sobbed.

"Blue's a tough kid, Honey" Hatchet told her. "She's a fighter! She'll be fine!"

Cry-Baby and the boys walked back in a moment later.

"Well? Did you find out a way to help get my baby home?" Allison asked them, anxiously.

"It's complicated, y'know we can't beat the system" Cry-Baby said. "Drapes always get the short end of the stick. Doesn't matter how many witnesses we have, they'll still believe Blue did it."

Allison sobbed into her hands.

"Aww, honey!" Cry-Baby rubbed her shoulders. "I know. I'm worried about her too!" He sighed. "Look, it's late and we can't do anything else about it tonight, we should get to sleep and start up again tomorrow."

"Well, I guess Blue can survive the night..." Allison said. "After all she's going to the same Finishing School my Grandmother ran, until she passed away."

"Who started running the school after your Grandmother?" Pepper asked.

"I don't know..." Allison shrugged.

Just then, Dupree walked in reading an issue of the local newspaper. "Cry-Baby, you said Blue was sentenced to the Baltimore Finishing School For Juvenile Delinquent Girls, right?" He asked.

"Yeah, what about it?" Cry-Baby asked.

"I just found an ad for that same school in the paper" Dupree said. "And you'll never guess who took over that joint!"

"Who? Who?!" Allison said.

"See for yourself..." Dupree handed over the newspaper.

Cry-Baby and Allison looked down at the advertisement and saw the new Headmistresses face at the bottom of it.

"No..." Allison's jaw dropped.

"Not her!" Cry-Baby rolled his eyes. "Anyone but her!"

Lenora Frigid-Prudeman, now a full Square and the Headmistress of the Finishing School, studied young Blue from across her giant oak desk.

Blue was driven straight from the Courthouse to the Baltimore Finishing School for Juvenile Delinquents Girls. As soon as she was walked into the place with handcuffs still around her wrists, Blue knew she wasn't in Kansas anymore... and she definitely knew she was a long way from Turkey Point.

The place had polished marble floors, fancy abstract paintings on the walls and a fountain in the lobby! Blue felt like she had stepped into some fancy-schmancy spa resort instead of a school!

Immediately after being thrown into this over-decorated joint, Blue was brought straight to the school's  Headmistress, Miss Frigid. Despite never really meeting the lady, Blue knew she was Becky and Lenord's mother and that she used to lust over her Father back in the day, pretty pathetically Blue might add.

"Miss Walker, is it?" Lenora said. "I believe I know your Father. I recall being a sweet young girl just starting to blossom into womanhood and your Father was the sexiest stud I ever layed eyes on!"

"First of all, that's my Dad you're talking about!" Blue told her. "Second of all, Blech! and third, aren't you married to the jag-off who put me in here?"

Lenora took a ruler from her desk and swatted Blue on the head before continuing.

"Ow!" Blue said "Crazy Bit--"

"Our School focuses on taking bad girls who are ill-mannered and unrefined... like you and trains them to be perfect little ladies for high society" Lenora continued. "We teach girls to sit up straight, to curtsey and how to and when to speak and so much more."

"So you take cool, confident chicks and turn them into ditzy, smiling pushovers?" Blue observed sarcastically. "Congrats, you're a real icon to women everywhere!"

"Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit" Lenora told her.

"Not in this case!" Blue grumbled.

Lenora shot Blue a look and swatted her on the arm with the ruler again. "Allow me to show you to your cell... oh, I mean room" she said, without an ounce of remorse in her voice.

Blue got up and followed her into the hallway. Looking around Blue noticed that the decor in the hallway wasn't nearly as fancy as the school's lobby. Not even close, in fact! It looked like a prison hallway with cement walls and ceilings and each door leading to a student's room was made of heavy stainless steel and had a single four inch window with bars on it.

Now Blue understood why Baldwin sentenced her to this hellhole. It may not be prison, but it was close enough!

Lenora finally stopped and unlocked one of the rooms at the end of the hall and grabbed Blue roughly by the shoulder as she shoved her inside. Blue hated the room at first glance, she hated the stains on the mattress, she hated how there were three dead flies on the windowsill and she hated the damp, moldy stench of the room. It reeked like a wet dog that had rolled around in road kill and got sprinkled with paprika.

"You will stay in your room until tomorrow morning when we unlock your room" Lenora told her. "You will wake up at six-thirty a.m and be dressed in the mandatory uniform by seven a.m. You can find your uniform hanging in the closet. Then I will expect you to be present in the dining room for a brief breakfast and report to your first class by eight o'clock sharp. Do I make myself clear?"

"Sir yes sir!" Blue shouted, giving a half salute before laughing. She decided she'd try to lighten up her current situation.

Lenora seemed less then amused and shoved a peice of paper at her.

"Here's your class schedule, you start bright and early tomorrow morning" She told Blue. "You'll be taught all of the most important things in life. Etiquette, proper posture, ballroom dancing, table manners, how and when to address people of certain status and how to serve a proper luncheon. Any questions?"

"Yeah, at what time do you start teaching us stuff we can actually use in the real world?" Blue asked.

"Social Conformity is useful in the real world!" Lenora hissed at her before turning and slamming the door. "Good evening, Miss Walker."

Blue watched her go and plopped down onto the bed.

"I can see why Dad didn't fall for that skank..." She said to herself. "Her fangs are too crooked!"

Blue opened the closet and saw her school uniform hanging there:

"No sweet flying way!" Blue told no one in particular. "What Nun designed these uniforms?"

Blue sighed heavily as she layed down on her smelly and lumpy mattress. She turned her head and stared out the window at the moon. She wondered if Johnny was staring at the full moon and thinking of her too? She wondered if he felt as trapped as she did at this very moment? She may have been the only one who was arrested and incarcerated, but Johnny was trapped in a Square life he didn't like and was unable to see Blue. It broke Blue's heart to think of him feeling so lost and alone without her...

At that same moment, Johnny was in his bedroom, crying himself to sleep. He had tried to hold back the tears, but he kept thinking about Blue, all alone and being treated like a criminal for something she didn't even do.

Johnny looked down at the tear stains on his pillowcase and remembered what his mother told him after she took him and left his dad. He had been trying not to cry as they drove away from the Rainbow Pines. When his mother gave him a heartfelt piece of advice...

"It's okay to cry. People cry not because they're weak..." Johnny muttered to himself. "It's because they've been strong for too long. Oh God, Blue..." he sobbed.

Blue stared up at the full moon and began to sing, softly but proudly:

Blue:
We're caught in a trap,
I can't walk out,
Because they think I'm guilty, baby!
Why can't they see,
What they're doing to me,
When they don't believe a word I say?
We can't go on together,
With suspicious minds!

Students in other rooms:
Suspicious minds!

Blue:
And we can't build our dreams,
On suspicious minds!
So, if my loving beau,
Stops by to say hello!
Would I still see suspicion in their eyes?
Here we go again!
Asking what I did,
They can't see the tears are real, I'm crying!

Students in other rooms:
Yes, she's crying!

Blue:
We can't go on together,
With suspicious minds!

Students in other rooms:
Suspicious minds!

Blue:
And we can't build our dreams,
On suspicious minds!
Oh, let our love survive!
I'll dry the tears from your eyes,
Let's don't let a good thing die!
When, Johnny, you know I've never lied to you! Mmm...

Students in other rooms:
Yeah-eh-yeah!

Blue:
We're caught in a trap,
I can't walk out,
Because they think I'm guilty, baby!
Why can't they see,
What they're doing to me,
When they don't believe a word I say?
Well, don't you know I'm caught in a trap?
I can't walk out,
Because they think I'm guilty, baby!
Well, don't you know I'm caught in a trap?
I can't walk out,
Because they think I'm guilty, baby!
Well, don't you know I'm caught in a trap?
I can't walk out,
Because they think I'm guilty, baby!
Well, don't you know I'm caught in a trap?
I can't walk out,
Because they think I'm guilty, baby!
Well, don't you know I'm caught in a trap?
I can't walk out,
Because they think I'm guilty, baby...

The next morning at the Baltimore Country Club, Johnny approached Becky Prudeman as she was lounging outside by the pool. Some Square guys were waiting on her hand and foot, bringing her snacks and putting sunscreen on her back for her. Becky was seated in a modest bikini wearing sunglasses and a large floppy hat to cover her supposed bruises.

"Becky, can I talk to you?" Johnny asked.

"Certainly, Johnny" Becky said, a  simpering smile tugging on her face.

The Square boys glared at him as Becky rose up from her lounge chair and walked with Johnny along side the pool, sipping her drink with the little umbrella.

"Becky, I wanted to talk to you about last night..." Johnny explained, once they were a good distance from the other boys.

"Oh Johnny, please don't bring up that traumatic event for me" she pouted. "It was so upsetting to me."

"But it didn't happen" Johnny said. "Blue was with me! She wouldn't do that to you! She's a sweet, gentle, nice girl!"

"She's a Drape!" Becky protested. "Now listen Johnny, since you're new around here, I don't expect you to know the difference between right and wrong! But believe me, Blue Walker is bad news! She got what she deserved! And it would benefit you to follow in my footsteps of avoiding her kind!"

"Who do you think you are, telling me who I can and can't hang around with?" Johnny told her. "You don't own me, Becky! I'm not some little purse dog you can show off on a rhinestone leash! I'll hang out with whoever I see fit to! And it's none of your concern!"

Johnny was about to storm off Becky grabbed his arm.

"I'm only watching out for you, Johnny" she said in a tone that was anything but caring. More like threatening.

"If I need someone watching out for me, I'll ask for it!" Johnny snapped, yanking his arm back.

But as Johnny yanked his arm back Becky was standing on the edge of the pool. So when he yanked back his arm, Becky lost her balance and went flying backwards into the pool.

Johnny pulled off his sneakers and immediately jumped into the pool to help her. He wasn't on the best of terms with Becky, but he didn't want to be responsible for letting her drown!

Becky coughed and spattered as Johnny pulled her to the shallow end of the pool.

"Get off! Get off of me!" She shouted, swatting at him.

"I'm really sorry!" Johnny apologized "I swear I didn't plan for that."

"Yeah, right!" Becky shrieked sarcastically as she stormed out of the pool. "You're such a loser, Johnny! Oh God, look at my hair!"

"Here! Let me get you a towel!" Johnny handed her a towel.

Becky huffed and snatched it from him. She flipped her soaking wet blonde locks to the side, spraying him with water. It was then Johnny noticed something about Becky's face.

"What's wrong with your face?" Johnny asked, squinting at her.

"Your trailer trash tramp assaulted me yesterday!" Becky told him. "Honestly how dense are you?"

"I know what happened yesterday!" Johnny said. "But why are your bruises... leaking?"

"Uh..." Becky stuttered with a scared look on her face. "I... It's blood!"

"No, it's not!" Johnny wiped some off her face with his fingers. "This... this is make up! You painted on your bruises! You lied to everyone! Just to get Blue in hot water!"

"Keep your voice down!" Becky hissed.

"No! Why should I? So you can keep on lying at Blue's expense?!" Johnny shouted. "How could you be so hateful and manipulative?"

"Because my father is a Judge and my mother owns the local Finishing School! And Blue Walker's Parents are a couple of redneck hillbillies who bang on scrap metal and fix cars!" Becky told him spitefully. "Because I live in suburbia and Blue Walker lives in a backwoods dump! Because I am a Square and Blue Walker is a Drape! So take your pick, Johnny! Which one of us sounds most appealing as a girlfriend?"

Johnny narrowed his eyes at her. Now that Becky was finally showing her true colors, Johnny was certain of who he would stand beside.

"Blue!" Johnny decided.

"I beg your pardon?" Becky asked, breathlessly.

"Blue Walker sounds like the most appealing girlfriend!" Johnny told her. "Because Blue's mother is a sweet and nurturing woman with a good judge of character and Blue's Dad, although overprotective, has every right to be because he has such an amazing daughter! Because Blue didn't try to force me into being a Drape, she merely showed me her world and welcomed me into it! Because Blue saw all the good things in me that I never did! And for all that and more, I choose Blue over someone like you anyday!"

"Well I'm sorry to hear that, Johnny..." Becky said in an unsettlingly calm tone. "But I'm not sorry about this!"

Just then, Johnny felt two Square boys grab his arms and pin them behind his back. Johnny struggled to get free, but they twisted his arm everytime he tried to squirm away.

"What the hell are you doing?!" Johnny yelled, before Lenord walked up beside him and shoved a tennis ball into his mouth to gag him.

"I'm making sure Blue Walker stays incarcerated and lonely like she deserves!" Becky sneered.

"And I'm making sure you don't steal my girl!" Lenord hissed.

"You two are a couple of assholes!" Johnny told them off. But with tennis ball shoved in his mouth it sounded like "Moo-Koo-Da-Dooble-Aaah-Tolls!"

"It is a beautiful day for love, isn't it?" Lenord said smugly.

"What a dumb ass!" Johnny rolled his eyes. Which sounded more like "Atta-Lum-Cass!"

The Square boys dragged Johnny around to one side of Country Club's property and stopped in front of a large steel vault door in the ground on one side of the building.

"Of course, we can't just set you free now that you know all our secrets..." Becky stared into her compact as she touched up her painted-on bruises. "So you now have the honor of being the first to try out the club's new Atomic Age Bomb Shelter! Yay!"

The boys then spun the dial, opened up the door and unceremoniously shoved Johnny into the underground shelter.

"Now I know it's dark and drafty down there, but look on the bright side..." Becky told him "In the event of atomic bombs being dropped on us, you'll be safe and sound!"

Lenord snickered. "Wait! How is that a bright side?" He asked his sister.

Becky elbowed him in the ribs before slamming the heavy steel door shut and spinning the dial to lock it.

With his hands now free, Johnny yanked the tennis ball out of his mouth and began hammering his fists against the door above his head.

"Let me out!" He shouted. "Hey! Let me outta here! You assholes! You can't just leave me down here!"

But apparently that was exactly what Becky, Lenord and the rest of the Squares had done as their voices and menevolent laughter faded away.

Johnny sighed as he searched for a light switch along the steel-plated walls in the pitch black darkness of the shelter. Finding nothing, he moved towards the center of the room and hit his head on something hanging from the ceiling. He jumped and then grabbed hold of the object.

Is that...? A lightbulb! Johnny grabbed the string hanging beside the bulb and pulled it. Instantly the single bulb lit up the bomb shelter.

Johnny looked around and saw all kinds of survival equipment the Country Club decided to pack in the event of atomic bombs being dropped onto Baltimore. A lot of it was just useless rich people crap! What possessed them to pack china tea sets? How would that be a necessity in a disaster? And what kind of moron packs one hundred tins of caviar as survival food? Who would want to eat smelly little unhatched fish eggs in general?

But Johnny couldn't worry about that now, he had to find a way out of this shelter and expose Becky so Blue could be free again! He continued to bang his fists on the steel door of shelter until his hands were red and sore. He shouted for help until his voice became horse and dry, but no one could hear him.

Johnny leaned against the wall and sighed heavily. He needed to get out of here, he needed to help Blue. At this point he missed her so much it actually hurt.

Johnny:
Now I'm yearning,
And I'm burning,
And I'm longing!
And I'm lusting,
My thoughts have gone from dirty to truly disgusting!

She can take my every treasure,
She can break my every law!
She can tear down all my walls,
And discover my flaws, my flaws!

I'm infected,
I'm infected,
I think I'll be sick... cause I'm agitated!

Let them gossip, I don't care,
I'd feel much worse as a square!
'Cause baby I'm infected with your love,
Baby, I'm infected with your love!

AN: Alright, I already started the next chapter, so it should be coming out soon. I also wanted to remind everyone that as of April 2020, Cry-Baby turns 30 years old! So Happy Anniversary, Cry-Baby!
