The First Kiss Is The Deepest
After the show, Blue offered to take Johnny to Kissin' Field. They sat on a blanket under an old weeping willow tree and stared up at the stars in the clear night sky.
"It's a beautiful night" Blue said, gazing up at the stars.
"Yeah... you are" Johnny replied absentmindedly. "I mean-- You're right... about it being a beautiful night."
Blue laughed. "I knew what you meant" she smiled. "Y'know, it's amazing how even when you have your foot in your mouth you're still able to be say the sweetest things."
"I think it's amazing how you always know the right thing to say" Johnny said. "Actually compared to the other girls I've met in Baltimore you're the smartest so far."
Blue smirked and layed her head on his chest. This took Johnny by surprise, but he liked it. He'd rather have a girl who bravely expressed her feelings for him rather than keep him second guessing about her true intentions. They layed there on the blanket staring up at the stars together.
Johnny:
Children behave,
That's what they say when we're together!
And watch how you play,
They don't understand,
And so we're running just as fast as we can!
Holdin' onto one another's hand,
Tryin' to get away into the night!
And then you put your arms around me,
And we tumble to the ground and then you say:
Blue:
I think we're alone now,
There doesn't seem to be anyone around!
I think we're alone now,
The beating of our hearts is the only sound...
(Johnny leans forward to kiss Blue, but he opens his eyes & sees she's run to hide behind a tree with a playful look on her face.)
Johnny:
Look at the way,
We gotta hide what we're doin'!
'Cause what would they say,
If they ever knew,
And so we're running just as fast as we can!
Holdin' onto one another's hand,
Tryin' to get away into the night!
And then you put your arms around me,
And we tumble to the ground and then you say:
Blue:
I think we're alone now,
There doesn't seem to be anyone around!
I think we're alone now,
The beating of our hearts is the only sound...
(She leans against the tree and prepares to kiss him, but he smirks and runs away. She laughs & chases after him.)
Blue:
I think we're alone now...
Johnny:
Alone now...
Blue:
There doesn't seem to be anyone around!
Johnny:
I think we're alone now...
Blue:
Alone now...
Johnny:
The beating of our hearts is the only sound!
Blue:
I think we're alone now...
Johnny:
Alone now...
Blue:
There doesn't seem to be anyone around...
Johnny:
I think we're alone now...
Blue:
Alone now...
The beating of our hearts is the only sound...
Blue finally caught up with Johnny and playfully tackled him to the ground. They both rolled down the grassy hill together, laughing.
Johnny was still laughing when Blue planted a tender kiss on his lips. Blue had to force herself to pull away after, the kiss was pretty sudden and she didn't want to overwhelm Johnny. She stared at his face afterwards, he looked so starstuck and surprised.
"Johnny, please say something?" Blue asked him, nervous about his reaction to the gesture. "Don't just say nothing. Just be honest with me, that's all I ask!"
When he continued the dazed look, Blue put her head down and bit her lip. Until Johnny tilted her chin upwards with his finger and brushed her hair out of her face.
"I'm ashamed I didn't think of doing that first" he smiled and kissed her lips.
Blue wrapped her arms around his torso as he layed down on the ground and continued kissing her.

Meanwhile back at the stage in Turkey Point, Cry-Baby had brought out some of Blue's old baby pictures as promised in case things got too intimate between her and Johnny. Eventually the adults all gathered to flip through the photo album and travel down memory lane.
"Aw! Look at this one! She doing her makeup!" Cry-Baby pointed to one snapshot of little Blue painting her face.
"Oh, look!" Allison said turning the page. "Here she is at nine months with little pigtails! I loved her in pigtails!"
Cry-Baby smiled. "Guys, check this out! It's the first photo I ever took of Blue! Right when she was born!"
"Aww! Look at her!" Hatchet-Face cooed. "Flippin' off the doctor!"
"Yeah... the doctor kind of yanked her out of Allison while she was in the middle of a nap" Cry-Baby explained.
"She was not happy with him!" Allison added.
"No..." Cry-Baby shook his head. "Remember what she did to the doctor when slapped her butt to make sure she was breathing?"
"What she do?" Wanda asked.
"She punched him in the nose!" Allison laughed "It was the cutest thing! She just turned around, gave him a dirty look, took her little fist and... boop! right in the nose!"
The gang laughed and grinned.
"Oh my God!" Cry-Baby said as he turned the page. I almost forgot about this!" He pointed to an empty cigarette package taped to one page.
"What is it?" Wanda asked.
"Remember that time Blue made me quit smoking?" Cry-Baby asked.
"What?" Hatchet-Face asked. "Blue made you quit? How?"
"She must have been no more than six years old at the time..." Cry-Baby said, flashing back to that moment.
~Flashback to 1960~
Cry-Baby was sitting on the couch one night, watching TV and smoking a cigarette. He had just finished some work on writing a song for the Cry-Baby Combo to preform next Friday. He heard a soft yawn and turned to see six year old Blue in her black and red pajamas.
"Hey, Blue. What are you doing up?" He asked. "Can't sleep?"
Blue shook her head "No."
"You have a bad dream?" Cry-Baby picked her up and putting her on the couch beside him.
"Mm-hmm..." Blue nodded.
"Tell you what, you can stay up with me and watch the Late-Late Show, but don't tell your mommy" Cry-Baby smiled. "You want some hot chocolate?"
"Yeah! Hot chocolate!" Blue grinned.
"Okay, I'll go make that right now" Cry-Baby said, heading for the kitchen.
Six year old Blue watched as the commercial break ended and a man came on to talk about things that had recently happened in the news.
"A recent report from the sergeant general has linked cigarette smoking to lung cancer" the anchorman said. "Statistics show that one out of every ten male smokers will die of cancer."
Blue gasped and glanced at her Daddy's cigarette still smoking in the ashtray on the coffee table.
But Daddy smokes! She thought horrified. He could be one of the ten smoker's to die!
Blue quickly grabbed the cigarette from the ashtray and slipped into the bathroom where she threw it in the sink and ran some cold water on it to put in out.
She then scurried back to the couch, satisfied until she noticed a whole package of cigarettes near her Daddy's spot on the couch. She heard her Daddy coming back in, so she grabbed the cigarettes and hid them under her night shirt.
Cry-Baby came back in with two steaming mugs, placing one in Blue's hands.
"There you go, sweetheart. Hot chocolate with marshmallows for you and hot chocolate with whiskey for me!" Cry-Baby smiled, until he reached for the ashtray. "What the...? Did I finish my smoke before I went to the kitchen?" He asked her, confused.
Blue bit her lip. "...Yeah" she said, getting up and walking face paced to her room. "I'm actually sleepy now, so I'm gonna take my hot chocolate to my room."
"Okay, pumpkin. Sweet Dreams!" Cry-Baby said, reaching for the table only to find his pack of cigarettes missing too. "Where did I leave my smokes? I swear I had a full pack here...?"
For the next week, Blue continued to swipe her Daddy's cigarettes when the grown up's backs were turned. She loved her Daddy and she had to save him!
If smokin' cigarettes can kill, then I have to keep cigarettes away from Daddy! Blue thought, sitting at the kitchen table eating lunch. If it was on TV, it must be true! Poor Daddy, he probably doesn't even realize that he's killing himself with cigarettes!
It was just then that Allison returned home from the grocery store carrying some bags and placed them down on the kitchen counter.
"Babe!" Allison called to Cry-Baby. "I got you another carton of smokes!"
Blue took the carton of cigarettes from the bag once her mother left and hid them behind her back, before running to her room. And not a moment too soon because Cry-Baby came walking into the kitchen a few seconds later.
Cry-Baby looked in the grocery bags and didn't find any cigarettes.
"You said you picked up my smokes?" Cry-Baby asked Allison as she walked back into the kitchen.
"I did!" Allison answered.
Cry-Baby sighed "I think someone's stealing my cigarettes."
"Well, it's not me!" Allison shrugged "I don't even smoke!"
"Then who is it?" Cry-Baby asked.
"I don't know" Allison replied. "Don't you still have some smokes left from that pack I put in your lunch box this morning?"
"There was no pack of smokes in my lunch box?" Cry-Baby furrowed his eyebrows.
"Yes, there was!" Allison told him. "I remember putting them in there because you were saying that you lost the other carton."
"I didn't lose it!" Cry-Baby protested. "I didn't even get a chance to open it! I swear to God, I'm reaching the point where I would kill someone just for the nicotine under their fingernails! It's ridiculous! A pack of cigarettes can't just disappear into thin air!"
"Well, if I'm not taking them and you're not smoking them, then who's..." Allison trailed off as the only other option dawned on her.
Cry-Baby's eyes widened as he had the same thought as her. "Blue..." he whispered "she has been acting a little sneaky lately."
"Oh God! My Baby's addicted to cigarettes!" Allison panicked. "Blue! Sweetheart, come here! Mommy wants to talk to you... and then spank you senseless!"
"We're not hitting our kid!" Cry-Baby told her.
"This is all your fault!" Allison told him.
Cry-Baby's jaw dropped "My fault?!"
"I told you to stop all that smoking when I was pregnant!" Allison snapped. "I told you it was a disgusting habit and that it would be a bad influence on Blue when she got older! But did you listen to me? No! I might as well carry on a conversation with a cantaloupe!"
"Allison, calm down!" Cry-Baby said "I'll go talk to her."
In her room, Blue was trying to fit the newly bought carton of cigarettes in her drawer, but it wouldn't close. At this point the drawer was overloaded with packs and cartons of cigarettes to the point where it wouldn't shut!
Suddenly there was a knock on her bedroom door and Blue jumped as the door opened.
"Blue, Daddy needs to have a talk with--" Cry-Baby froze when he saw Blue leaning against the still opened drawer full to the brim with cigarette packages.
"Blue..." Cry-Baby frowned, crossing his arms.
"I'm sorry!" Blue told him.
"What were you planning to do with all these cigarettes?" Cry-Baby asked her.
"I dunno..." Blue shrugged "Bury them, I guess!"
"Bury them?" Cry-Baby asked "Why would you bury Daddy's cigarettes? These cost money! They're not to play with!"
"But they're going to kill you!" Blue told him. "I had to save you!"
"What?" Cry-Baby asked, confused.
"I saw it on the Late-Late Show!" Blue explained, sobbing. "The man on the TV said smoking will cause lung cancer and one of ten boy smokers will die! And I don't want you to die!"
"Aw, honey!" Her Daddy picked her up as he sat on her bed. "Is that why you've been stealing my smokes this whole time? Because you were scared for my health?"
"Yeah..." Blue sniffled "Are you gonna punish me now?"
"Yeah, I'm gonna punish you!" Cry-Baby said sternly. "By kissing you like crazy!" He leaned back on the bed, kissing little Blue's cheeks repeatedly.
Blue shrieked and giggled.
"I'm not mad, sweetheart!" Cry-Baby told her, brushing the bangs out of her face. "I think it's sweet that you thought of me like that. However, the cigarettes you stole from me... are going to be buried!"
Blue beamed "Really?" She asked.
"That's right!" Cry-Baby said. "I don't think smoking is worth it if it could take me away from you and your Mommy!"
"Love you, Daddy!" Blue hugged him.
"I love you too, you nicotine-nabbing gremlin!" Cry-Baby kissed her cheek.
Allison smiled watching the whole thing from the doorway.
"Let's go bury those cigarettes right now!" Cry-Baby said. "I'm sick of looking at them."
"Okay!" Blue said, going to the kitchen. "I'll go get a bag to put them in!"
"Good girl!" Cry-Baby told her.
Allison came in and sat beside him on the bed. "You mean it?" She asked him. "You're really going to quit smoking?"
"I'm gonna try" Cry-Baby nodded. "Seeing Little Blue get so worried about this, I guess it's the extra push I needed!"
Allison smiled and kissed his lips, passionately. Then she pulled away and gave her husband a confused look.
"How did Blue hear about smoking being unhealthy on the Late-Late Show, when her bedtime is at eight p.m?" She asked him.
Cry-Baby gulped. "Blue! Let's hurry up and bury those cigarettes now!" He called, getting up and rushing out of the room.
~End of Flashback~
The gang smiled at Cry-Baby's story.
Cry-Baby sighed "Hey, now that I think about it... Where is Blue?"
"Uh... she's... um... she's somewhere, I'm sure?" Allison stuttered.
"Allison" Cry-Baby asked "Where is Blue?"
"Sweetheart, I..."
"What are you keeping from me?" Cry-Baby asked.

As Blue and Johnny were continuing to make out in Kissin' Field, they were unaware that two figures were watching them from the shadows. One had blonde hair and the other had a freckled face, but they both wore matching scowls as they stared at the romantic sight before them.
"That should be me kissing her!" Lenord hissed. "It's not fair! I've been flirting with Blue non stop for years and now this shaggy-headed nobody comes in and sweeps her off her feet?!"
"Shut up, Lenord! They'll hear you!" Becky told her brother in a hushed tone. "Clearly Johnny doesn't know how to take a hint or how to stay away from trailer-park trash like Blue Walker. No matter, we'll just have to separate them. Once Blue is out of the picture, Johnny will have a lot more free time to practice the art of being Square with yours truly."
"But how are supposed to keep them apart?" Lenord asked.
Becky glared at Blue from the bush they were hiding in. That disgusting Drape had been a thorn in her side for far too long. Now she would pay the price.
"Well, if Blue Walker wants to behave like an animal..." Becky said, pulling out a makeup pallet of dark eyeshadow shades.
"...I'll see to it that she is caged up like an animal!" She finished.
AN: Dun-dun-daa! Cliff-hang-errr! What is Becky planning? Will Cry-Baby freak out upon learning about Blue and Johnny's make out session? Is there going to be more musical numbers? Will the author ever stop asking questions? Maybe! If y'all drop me a comment and hit da ☆! ☆_☆
