110. homecoming

Sienna and Tyler watched as the fire brigade were dealing with the flooding in the gym, when Caroline approached them.

"What happened?" Caroline gasped, as this was supposed to be where homecoming was held. "The gym is flooded." Tyler responded, stating the obvious.

"Looks like the dance is canceled." Sienna spoke, seeming disappointed. Caroline huffed, "Excuse me? What are we supposed to do now?"

"We could always move it to our house." Sienna suggested, looking to Tyler who grinned, "Kegs and beer pong for Homecoming?" He asked. Sienna nodded eagerly, "Fuck yeah."

With Homecoming being saved by the Lockwood family, Caroline, Lexa, Bonnie, Giorgia and Carmen approached the mansion in surprise.

There was a rock band playing in the garden, and practically everybody from school was there.

"This is fucking awesome!" Giorgia blurted, with a smile on her face. "Right? We never had bands at our formals." Carmen, who had arm linked through the Garcia's, piped up.

"How did he plan a better party than me so fast? What?" Caroline asked, as Lexa chuckled lightly at the Forbes shock. "Is that a band outside?" Caroline added.

"Who are all these people?" Bonnie asked, looking around as she didn't recognise anybody. "I invited a lot of people from my grade." Allira confessed, approaching the group.

"Hey Allie!" Carmen smiled, upon seeing her friend. "Hey!" Allira chirped, smiling at Carmen before she looked to Bonnie. "I was worried with the gym flooding that no one would show so I invited heaps of people from mine and Jeremy's class... not only did everyone show up, but Tyler's friend invited heaps of people."

"Tyler's friend?" Bonnie asked, as Caroline and Lexa looked puzzled too, "We know Tyler's friends... there's us, Sienna, Matt and that's pretty much it." The Forbes spoke.

Alexia stopped listening to this conversation, as she could hear Stefan and Tyler talking. "Hey Tyler. Nice party you've got going on." Stefan said to Tyler. "Thanks, but I'm not the one throwing it. I'm just doing what Klaus wants." Tyler replied. Upon hearing Klaus' name, Lexa's eyes widened.

"What do you mean?" Stefan asked, seeming puzzled. "It's not a party, man. It's a wake." Tyler responded to the vampire.

"A wake?" Lexa blurted, as Caroline and Bonnie both looked to her with confused expressions. "What did you just say?" Bonnie asked the Gilbert.

Before Lexa could even explain to them what she had just heard, Klaus entered the stage, earning applause from many members of the crowd. "You've got to be kidding me." Lexa sighed.

"Oh! That's Tyler's friend!" Allira pointed out, "He's pretty good looking."

"Good evening everyone!" Klaus began, "I wanna thank you for being here with me to celebrate! It's been a long time coming!"

━━━━━ ⋆⋅♥︎⋅⋆ ━━━━━

Sometime later, Lexa found that Caroline was missing. What she didn't know, is that Tyler had jabbed Caroline with a vervain injection and planned to take her out of the party to keep her out of danger. Currently, he was also trying to convince Sienna, Allira, Jeremy and the Meyer sisters to leave.

The heretic found herself approaching Tyler, with Damon by her side.

"As the host you should know these hybrids don't make the best first impression." Damon insisted, as Tyler eyed him, "Whatever move you're making, Klaus is gonna be ready for you. He'll kill anyone at this party if he has to."

Damon just shrugged, "Tell someone who cares." He scoffed, though Lexa eyed him. "Damon..." She spoke, wanting to hint at maybe altering their plan so that everybody would be safe.

Before Lexa could try to reason with the Salvatore, he threw himself at Tyler, trying to pick a fight. Damon was about to stake Tyler, when Lexa caught sight of it and cast a spell, causing the boys to both clutch their heads in pain. Bonnie approached the scene, coincidentally using the same spell on them.

Once the witch duo eased the spell on Damon, he got to his face and looked to them with disgust. "What the hell is wrong with you two? You weren't suppose to witchy migraine me!" He growled.

"You weren't supposed to kill Tyler!" Both Lexa and Bonnie confessed in unison as Damon huffed, "He tried to bite me!"

Damon then bent down to pick up the stake that had fallen out of his pocket, as the witches recognised it as the White Oak stake.

"Damon.. what the fuck." Lexa sighed before Bonnie demanded, "What is that?"

"Nothing."

"Oh my god is that the—" Before Bonnie could finish her sentence, Lexa clasped her hand over the Bennett's mouth. Damon then said, "Shh. They're everywhere!"

"Why do you have it?" Bonnie asked, once Lexa removed her hand from her best friend. Damon replied, "Because I'm the only one who can get inside the house!"

They then watched as Klaus moved away from the beer pong table and went towards the entrance of the house to speak to Mikael.

Lexa felt a nervousness in her chest, as she hoped this plan would work. "It's go time." Damon spoke, before he wandered off.

Lexa kept an eye on the guests, particularly her closer friends, whilst she listened into Klaus and Mikael's conversation going on outside.

She screwed up her face upon hearing Katherine, who was posing as Elena, get stabbed, though moments later she had gotten to her feet and thrown wolfsbane grenades at the hybrids.

A smile graced Lexa's features, as she could hear that the plan was going well, though it faded when she heard Damon demand, "What are you doing?!"

Worried, the Gilbert moved from her post and approached the entryway, just in time to watch Klaus stake his stepfather. She watched in horror as the man burst into flames and died, right in front of them all.

"No." She croaked out, as their plan had failed.

Without thinking, she sped out of the house and over to Stefan. Damon looked confusedly at the girl for a moment, as she'd been hellbent on keeping everybody inside the house safe while they carried out the plan.

"What the hell did you do?" Lexa demanded, getting in Stefan's face, as the Salvatore just continued to look at her with a stoic expression.

"He's earned his freedom." Klaus piped up, as the trio turned to face the hybrid.

"Thank you my friend. You no longer have to do as I say. You're free." Klaus declared, un-compelling Stefan.

Tears glistened Lexa's eyes, as she realised that their Klaus problems were far from over, and before Stefan could look to her, she fled back into the house.

Furiously, Damon entered the Salvatore home. He couldn't believe how the night had turned out.

Currently, he wanted nothing more to undagger Isaiah, pour them both a drink and apologise profusely for daggering him before ranting and how the night had been a complete disaster.

His thoughts completely changed when he found Natasha, in a horrible state on the living room floor. The living was also a complete mess.

"Natasha!" He blurted in a panic, as he rushed to the Pierce's side, noticing she had been stabbed with multiple stakes, all soaked with vervain.

"Damon." She winced, as the Salvatore helped her up, before he removed the stakes. Natasha let out a yelp, as the stakes hurt being yanked out of her body, almost as much as it had when she'd been stabbed.

"What happened? Who did this to you?" Damon asked, still filled with worry. Natasha faced Damon, with tear filled eyes now. "It was Stefan and Katherine. They came in an attacked me."

Damon's jaw dropped, as he definitely didn't expect that. Since when did Stefan and Katherine work together, and why the hell did they go after Natasha?

"I couldn't stop them Damon." Natasha spoke, in a shaky breath. "They took them." She added.

"They took who, Tash?" Damon asked, as Natasha's breath hitched in her throat. "They took Rebekah and Isaiah." She cried out, devastated and disappointed in herself that she had let them take her lover.

Now inside the mansion, Lexa took a swig from a very expensive bottle of champagne she'd taken from Richard's collection. She watched as Jeremy and Allira were dancing together.

Sienna noticed and approached the drunk girl. "Doll, you could at least use a fancy glass to go with that $500 bottle of champagne." The Lockwood suggested, as the heretic faced her. "Who the fuck spends $500 on a bottle of alcohol?" She asked in shock.

"My Uncle tended to made a lot of irrational purchases." Sienna confessed, before Lexa offered her the bottle. The blonde took it, and took a swig from it.

"Where's Caroline?" Sienna then asked, as Lexa shrugged. "Unfortunately I have no idea. We came here together, danced and then I haven't seen her since." The drunk brunette huffed. "I've tried to call her but she hasn't answered her phone."

Tyler, who'd been walking past suddenly stopped. "Are you talking about Caroline?" He asked, as Lexa nodded. "I may have jabbed her with vervain to keep her away from Klaus and the hybrids. I did take her home though." He replied as Lexa's face fell.

"What is the deal with you and my girlfriend? When are you going to get it through your thick werewolf skull that she loves me, and not you?"" Lexa suddenly asked, getting jealous and upset in her drunk, baby-vampire state. "Relax. I was just looking out for her!" Tyler responded, raising his voice to match Lexa's.

"That's not your job, Tyler. It's mine. Go back to your airheaded, judgemental little damsel, because she's the only person you're probably ever going to get action from." Lexa snapped, referring to Ava as Tyler's damsel.

Sienna and Tyler both looked shocked by Lexa's words. "Lexa? What has gotten into you?" Sienna genuinely asked. "I'm not doing this with you. You need to leave." Tyler demanded, looking at the Gilbert.

"Fine. You can keep your half empty bottle of expensive champagne." Lexa declared, shoving the bottle towards Tyler. The Lockwood took it, still looking lost for words. "You raided my Dad's alcohol?" He asked as Lexa shrugged nonchalantly, "It's not like he's ever going to drink it."

With that, the drunk heretic went to leave, leaving two very surprised Lockwoods. "What the fuck has gotten into her?" Tyler asked as Sienna looked as shocked as he was. "She's been acting so different since she turned." Sienna confessed, wondering what the brunette was going through.

"Well with that attitude, she's not welcome in my house." Tyler decided before he walked off. Sienna watched as he left, before she went to the dance floor and joined Astrid.

Stumbling out of the mansion, Lexa cursed under her breath as she found herself to be completely frustrated with tonight's events. Mikael dying instead of Klaus was what caused her to want to drink heavily, but with her heightened and uncontrollable emotions and impulses, it hadn't been a wise decision.

Deciding to vampire speed home, she began walking down the stairs, but stopped as she heard a light cry.

Confusedly, she looked around before she found Ava, sitting nearby. The Gilbert approached her, "What's wrong with you?" She asked, quite bluntly much to her unintent.

Ava looked up, locking eyes with the heretic. "I'm so drunk." The Meyer began. "I fell down the stairs and twisted my ankle... it actually really fucking hurts." She admitted.

Lexa hadn't noticed her twisted ankle, instead her eyes were fixated on the open wound on Ava's arm as she'd cut it open on one of the stairs.

Instantaneously, veins popped out from underneath Lexa's eyes, and they turned to their usual vampire look upon sensing blood.

Ava let out a scream upon seeing Alexia's eyes,  but only screamed more when the heretic had sped towards her, and taken no time in sinking her fangs into her arm and feeding.

Lexa ripped her fangs out of Ava's arm, as she felt her heart suddenly race. "What the fuck is that.." She blurted, as Ava's teary eyes met the Gilberts. "Why is my heart suddenly racing?"

"I... I took a lot of ecstasy earlier." Ava trembled as Lexa's eyes widened, though her grip on Ava tightened. "Let me go!" The Meyer then demanded, as Alexia faced her.

Her breath hitched in her throat for a moment, as she felt like she was on a total high, after having a hit of ecstasy and blood.

The heretic then compelled Ava to stay quiet before she sunk her fangs into the redhead's neck, and fed from her again. Sensations filled Lexa's body, as she couldn't stop.

At last, the Gilbert pulled away, as Ava's lifeless body was in her arms. She dropped it to the floor, and took a moment to reminisce on what she had relinquished. Drugs.

"Ava??" A voice called out, belonging to Allira. The brunette had noticed that the Meyer had been gone for a while and left Jeremy's side to look for her. What they didn't know, is that upon Astrid feeling that Ava was in strife since she was Ava's guardian, the other redhead and Sienna were rushing around the mansion to look for her.

"Ava?" Allira called out again, walking down the stairs, though a scream escaped her lips as she saw Lexa, with her vampire eyes and elongated fangs. The heretic may have been in a state of total euphoria, but she wasn't letting it end there.

"Lexa? Why do you look like that?" The short Lockwood asked in fear, before Alexia sped towards her, stopping directly in front of her.

"I need you to do something for me." Lexa spoke, as Allira was in too much fear to move. "I need you to stay perfectly still, and completely quiet." The Gilbert compelled the girl, who opened her mouth to speak, but the words hadn't escaped her lips as Lexa sunk her fangs into the brunette's neck.

A tear rolled down Allira's cheek, representing the fear that she couldn't show due to the compulsion. Lexa was in her own little bubble, as she fed off of the Lockwood. All that mattered to her right now was chasing the high, as she didn't want it to end.

A scream escaped Astrid's lips, as Lexa pulled her fangs out of Allira's neck. The brunette's body fell limp in the Gilbert's arm, as she too was dead.

Lexa dropped Allira's body by Ava's before she turned around to see Astrid and Sienna, with broken and disgusted expressions on their faces.

"Ava!! Ava, no!" Astrid cried out, as she ran to her twins side. She shook the redhead's body, and broke into a loud sob when she realised that she was truly dead.

Lexa felt her heart beating so loud, that it was thumping in her ears. Suddenly, the realisation hit her, that she'd lashed out and killed two people. She watched as Sienna, who'd been frozen in shock, choke out a sob as she went to run to Allira and Ava's bodies.

Tears glistened over Alexia's eyes, as she reached out to grab Sienna's arm. The blonde immediately turned her body and broke out of Lexa's grip, as she looked at her best friend and ex girlfriend with a completely heartbroken expression.

"Sienna... You have to believe me, I didn't want to hurt them!" Lexa insisted, as Sienna couldn't hide the disgust on her face. "You.., you killed my sisters! No matter whether you wanted to or not, they're dead! Ava and Allira are... they're gone!" Sienna snapped, through tears.

"I.. I didn't want to hurt them! Ava, she was bleeding and—"

"I hate you."

Lexa's expression fell, as she faced the Lockwood. "No... no you don't mean that." She assured Sienna, as she stepped forward to reach out for the Lockwood.

Sienna shook her head as she took a step back. "I do. I hate you with my entire heart, Alexia." She seethed, as Lexa tried to say something but choked out a sob.

Sienna pulled her eyes away from Lexa and rushed to Allira's side, bursting into tears when she couldn't find a pulse on the shorter Lockwood.

Lexa took a step back, her hand covering her mouth as she couldn't believe what she had done. She'd killed two innocent people.

Before anyone noticed, Alexia sped away from the scene to be alone. It was then, she broke down into tears, falling to her knees. Despite being inebriated, she could tell that she had completely fucked up and made mistakes that were irreversible.

She wanted to go back in time, but she couldn't. Two lives were lost, and a friendship so dear to Lexa was completed destroyed.

The Gilbert sobbed violently, as her mind wandered off to another friendship she felt she'd completely destroyed, being her relationship with Natasha.

"God... Why am I such a fuck up?!" Lexa seethed, beginning to feel overwhelmed as all of her mistakes over the past weeks came back to her, and no matter what she just couldn't stop crying.

That's when a voice spoke, in the back of her mind.

Just turn it off.

You don't have to feel like this.

Lexa sat upright, tears still running down her face. She closed her eyes, focusing heavily on flipping her humanity switch.

She didn't want to feel like this... she felt shameful, broken and overall she absolutely despised herself.

Suddenly, everything went away. She opened her eyes, still completely alone in the forest... but this time, she felt nothing at all.
