060. the moonstone

Mason walked down the front steps and towards his jeep. He saw Bonnie trying to remove a table from the back of a truck, alone. The Lockwood raced over to help her. "Hey, how did you get stuck doing that by yourself?" He asked. Bonnie replied, "All the guys bailed. Something about draft picks. I don't know, I don't speak that language."

"Here, let me give you a hand." Mason declared, as he grabbed the table and started to pull it out. Bonnie quickly looked around before looking back at Mason. She used her aneurysm spell on him, Mason grabbed his head and yelled in pain before he fell down onto his knees. Bonnie sighed, "I'm sorry."

Damon walked past Bonnie and kneed Mason in the face, causing him to fall to the ground, unconscious.

The vampire opened the passenger door to Mason's jeep and signalled for Bonnie to get in. Meanwhile Stefan took Mason's keys out of his pocket and threw them to Damon. Bonnie got into Mason's jeep as Damon and Stefan put Mason in the trunk. Damon then got in and drove off, with Bonnie in the passenger seat.

Caroline sat in the basement cell, talking with her mother. "So, I mainly drink from blood bags. It's not as good as the fresh stuff but it beats the animal blood that Stefan's been trying to get me to drink." She explained. Sheriff Forbes frowned, "So, you steal the blood from the hospital?" Caroline sighed, "Damon does. I've been pilfering his supply, so..." She trailed off. "And as long as you have blood, you don't need to kill?" Liz asked.

Caroline frowned, "I want to. It's my basic nature now. But, on a healthy diet, I can control it. I'm getting better at it. I'm better than Stefan. He's a bit of a problem drinker. A blood-aholic." She explained.

"I don't want this for you." Liz admitted, as Caroline shrugged, "I know. But when life gives you lemons..." She let out a weak laugh, before she thought about something.

"Hey Mum.. not to drop more bombs on you but.. what would you say if I said I think I'm bisexual?" She asked. Liz gave her a look, before she laughed. "Trust me that is so much easier than to accept than the fact that you're a vampire... how did you realise that you also like girls?" Liz asked.

Caroline bit her lip, before she admitted, "I kind of... have feelings for Lexa. I actually can't stop thinking about her. It's been like this ever since I turned." She admitted as Liz smiled, almost knowingly. "You haven't talked to her about it, have you?" She asked as Caroline shook her head. "What's stopping you?"

"I don't know Mum, maybe the fact that I'm a blood thirsty vampire who doesn't want to hurt her.." Caroline blurted before she sighed, "She's also dating Mason Lockwood's daughter." She added. "Sienna?" The Forbes asked as the vampire nodded. "Yep. I've never seen either of them so happy, I didn't think Sienna even had a heart-" Caroline suddenly stopped talking as she heard Damon entering the house. "Damon's home." She announced as the older Forbes looked surprised, "You could hear that?" She asked, as Caroline nodded.

The vampire left the basement, bumping into Bonnie on the way up. "Hey!" She piped up, as she hadn't seen her best friend in a while. Bonnie stopped and looked at the Forbes. "Hi. How's your mom? Elena filled me in on everything." She said. "I'm gonna take her home tonight." Caroline replied.

Bonnie began, "Caroline... uh... never mind, I've got to go." She decided, going to leave. "Did you find the moonstone thing?" Caroline asked as Bonnie shook her head, "Not yet. Hey, do you remember that old well where we used to play when we were kids?" Caroline nodded, "Yeah."

"It's in the woods. Do you remember where?" Bonnie asked as Caroline nodded, "On the edge of the old Lockwood property. Why?"

Bonnie quickly pulled out her phone and typed a message to Stefan. "I think that's where Mason is keeping the moonstone. I got to go." She decided. Caroline smiled, "Well, I can come with you!" Bonnie shook her head, "No, it's okay." Causing Caroline to look quite disappointed. The witch then smiled back, "Sure." Caroline smiled excitedly, "Okay!"

The pair walked past Damon, who had tied Mason to a chair, and looked like he was going to torture the Lockwood. "Damon.." The Forbes spoke up. "Yes blondie?" Damon answered. "Are you going to hurt him? It's just- that's Sienna's dad." She said.

Damon didn't answer.

"Just.. don't kill him." Caroline ordered, before the Forbes left the boarding house, along with Bonnie.

Matt, Alexia, Sienna and Allira were inside the Lockwood mansion, sorting through costumes and masks. The girlfriends had no luck of finding the moonstone, as they searched Mason's belongings.

"So, where's Caroline? This is like her thing. I can't believe she's not here." Matt spoke up. Allira looked at Matt with genuine surprise, that he actually cared for Caroline and wasn't using her as an Elena rebound.

Sienna shrugged, as Lexa answered, "She had something else to do." Matt quickly asked, "Is she seeing someone?" As Lexa frowned. "Matt, come on. No, she's not." Sienna answered.

Stefan walked in, with a box of masks, as Tyler entered the room also. "Anyone seen Mason?" Tyler asked, catching their attention. "Actually... I haven't seen him for a while." Sienna confessed.

Stefan answered, "He, uh, he took off, said something about leaving town. He said he wasn't sure when he'd be back." He said as Tyler, Allira and Sienna frowned. "So weird." Tyler declared, before he walked out of the room. "Would it kill him to spend some time with us... y'know, his family." Allira trailed off, before glancing at Sienna, knowing this would hurt her.

Lexa looked to Sienna, who looked outraged. The Gilbert thought back to what her girlfriend had said earlier about Mason, and frowned, feeling bad for her.

"Why am I not fucking surprised!? He can never try to actually be a father." The Lockwood growled before she stormed out of the room. Stefan watched, feeling guilty as it was obviously a lie.

Lexa left the room, going after her girlfriend. "Babe?" She blurted, closing the door behind her as they were now in Sienna's room. "All I wanted him to do was stay." Sienna declared, her back to Lexa as she clenched her fists. "Cece.. I'm so sorry.." Lexa sighed, walking over to her girlfriend.

Sienna turned to face her girlfriend, her eyes welling with tears. "I don't understand- am I not worth staying for?" She blurted. "Hey.." Lexa sighed, embracing her love. "Your Dad is an idiot for constantly abandoning you.. but I can absolutely fucking assure you, that you're worth staying for. You're worth every moment, Sienna Lockwood.."

Sienna looked at Lexa with glassy eyes, before she leant forward and kissed the Gilbert softly. Lexa closed her eyes and kissed back. Once they broke apart, they stayed in eachother's arms. "Lexa.. I love you." Sienna confessed, as Lexa couldn't help but smile brightly. "I love you too, Cece." She replied softly.

As Mason was chained down to the chair, Damon was heating up an iron poker in the fireplace. Mason suddenly regained consciousness and struggled to get out of the chair, as Damon just looked at him. "Someone's feisty."

Damon got up, as Mason continued to struggle and thrusted the chair backwards, falling onto the floor. The Salvatore walked over to him. "What?!" The Lockwood blurted before Damon stuck the hot iron poker into his chest, causing him to scream out in pain.

Damon stated, "You can hurt- good to know. I was afraid you were gonna be some beast mass with no affinity for pain." Before he pulled down Mason's shirt and looked at his wound. "Oh, but you heal quickly. Not good. Guess I'll just have to keep applying pain."

Footsteps approached the pair, as Damon turned around to see Natasha. "Tasha. Here for the show?" He asked as a grin forms on the Petrova's face. "You bet. Let me know if I can help in any way." She suggested, before flames lit at the tip of her fingers, causing Mason's eyes to widen in surprise.

"All of this power and you still left Lexa to die." Damon declared, still visibly annoyed by her actions. "You're still on about this?" The heretic asked, crossing her arms. Damon just looked at her, unamused. "I couldn't kill my sister, as much as I wanted to." The Petrova huffed. "That isn't what I'm angry about! I'm angry that you left Lexa with her! In a state so bad that she couldn't fight back!" The Salvatore spat.

"Betraying Lexa was my biggest regret." Natasha confessed, her arms dropping to her side. "If I could turn back time, I would.. and I would have taken her with me- I wasn't thinking clearly!" She said. "I know you would understand what it is like.. to make terrible mistakes when you can not think straight." Damon frowned, realising she was correct.

Natasha was Damon's best friend, he knew he couldn't stay mad at her forever... especially when he has made many of his own mistakes.

"Are you two done having your lover's spat?" Mason asked, before Damon grabbed the Lockwood and pulled him back up off of the ground, the chair now upright. "She's gay, and I have a thing for someone else." Damon confessed, as he walked back over to the fireplace and heated up the poker again. "Oh god.. you don't mean the useless and whiny Petrova? Elena? At least go for the one with cool powers." Natasha huffed, obviously referring to Lexa. "I did, and as you can see, that didn't work for me." Damon replied.

Damon turned to Mason, the hot poker in his hand, as Natasha took a step beside him. She crossed her arms and faced Mason. "So... Katherine. How do you know her? What is she up to?" Damon asked. Mason spat on the floor, and says nothing. "We have all day, wolf boy." Natasha declared.

Damon thrusted the white hot iron poker into Mason's stomach, as the man grit his teeth and screamed.

"When did you two meet? Did she seduce you, tell you she loved you? You're supernatural so she can't compel you. I'm sure she used her other charms." Damon suggested. "Katherine's good that way.. just ask both of the Salvatores." Natasha declared.

Jeremy walked in the room with a box. He set it down on a table, catching the trio's attention. "I thought I told you to leave." Damon huffed. "I found something in Ric's box of stuff." Jeremy said as Natasha walked over to the Gilbert. "Ooh. What is it?" She asked, in her sickly sweet voice. Jeremy opened the box and took out a plant.

"I did a search on my phone. It's a plant. Aconitum Vulparia. It grows in the mountainous areas of the northern hemisphere. Commonly known as aconite, blue rocket, and wolfsbane." Jeremy explained as Damon opened the cloth and looks at the wolfsbane. "What else did you read?" He asked.

"Well, every source says something different. One myth says it causes lycanthropy, which sounds bogus. Another one says that it protects people and another one says, well, it's toxic." Jeremy trailed off.

Damon looks over at Mason, who groaned at the sight of the plant. "I'm guessing toxic." He declared, before he walked over to Mason, holding it.
