011. friday night bites
Elena, Stefan, Lexa and Bonnie were eating together at the kitchen table. A certain siphon could feel the awkward tension between the others and just wanted to go back up to her room... but at the same time this dinner was a nice distraction from the fact Caroline, her crush, is dating Damon, a psychopath.
Lexa chewed angrily, her mind occupied by Damon, which made her angry. He was a monster, and she wanted to keep him away from Caroline.
"Did Tanner give you a hard time today?" Elena asked Stefan, trying to fill in the awkward silence. Tanner was a football coach as well as a history teacher. "Well, he let me on the football team, so I must have done something right." Stefan responded to Elena.
Lexa placed her fork down, and looked up at Stefan. "Congrats." She said, though her expression didn't look as friendly as she'd intended.. since she was still pissed off. "Thanks." Stefan replied awkwardly, unsure if she was being genuine or sarcastic.
"Bonnie, you should have seen Stefan today. Sienna threw a ball right at him, and..."
"Yeah, I heard."
"Why don't you tell Stefan about your family?" Elena then suggested. "Um, divorced. No mom. Live with my dad." Bonnie said, not giving too much detail. "No, about the witches. Bonnie's family has a lineage of witches. It's really cool." Elena confessed. Lexa then paused, looking up at her sister.. she'd never heard her talk about witches.. and the way she had talked about it, she was surprised her twin found it really cool. Lexa then took a sip from her glass.
"Cool isn't the word I'd use." Bonnie declared. "Well, it's certainly interesting. I'm not too versed, but I do know that there's a history of Celtic druids that migrated here in the 1800s." Stefan said to Bonnie.
"My family came by way of Salem." Bonnie said.
"Really? Salem witches?"
"Yeah."
"I would say that's pretty cool."
"Really? Why?" Bonnie asked.
"Salem witches are heroic examples of individualism and nonconformity." Stefan explained, causing Bonnie to smile. "Yeah, they are." Bonnie smiled back.
The doorbell then rang, catching everyones attention. "I'll get it." Lexa said, quickly getting from her seat. "I wonder who that could be." Elena admitted.
Lexa opened the door as Caroline and Damon were standing before her. She frowned when she saw the other Salvatore. "Surprise! Bonnie said you were doing dinner, so we brought dessert." Caroline announced excitedly.
"Oh." Lexa said, though she didn't sound the slightest bit happy about it. "Hope you don't mind." Damon said cooly. "Actually, I do mind.." Lexa admitted, as Caroline frowned at her best friend.
Stefan, hearing his brother's voice, got out of his seat and walked over to the front door. "What are you doing here?" He suddenly asked. "Waiting for Elena to invite me in." Damon responded, looking to Lexa.
"I'm not Elena, and I'm sure not inviting you into my house." Lexa said coldly, as Caroline gave her best friend a confused stare. Elena walked over to the door, to see what all of the commotion was about. "Oh, yeah, you can..." She said, about to let the boy inside.
"No, no, no. He can't, uh...he can't stay. Can you, Damon?" Stefan asked. Caroline then stepped inside, passing Lexa. She turned back around to Damon, "Get in here." She whined.
"We're just...finishing up." Stefan quickly lied. "Yep. I'm about to kick everyone out, actually." Lexa added, also lying. "It's fine. Just come on in." Elena declared, confused to why Stefan and Lexa were acting this way.
Damon then took a step inside. "You have a beautiful home, Elena." He said. "Thank you." The twin replied.

Everyone migrated to the living room, once they'd finished eating. "I cannot believe that Mr. Tanner let you on the team. Tyler must be seething. But good for you. Go for it." Caroline admitted, laughing. "That's what I always tell him. You have to engage. You can't just sit there and wait for life to come to you. You have to go get it." Damon added.
"Yeah, Say that to the twins— they both disappeared during practice.." Caroline huffed. "You both missed summer camp! God, I don't know how either of you are ever going to learn the routines." Caroline added, complaining about Elena and Lexa to their faces. "I'll work with them. They'll get it." Bonnie insisted. "I guess we can put them both in the back.." Caroline suggested, with a shrug.
"You know, you don't seem like the cheerleader type, Elena. Meanwhile Lexa, you seem like you do— which surprises me that you bailed." Damon admitted. Lexa clenched her fists, feeling anger rise inside of her, as Damon talked to her.
"Oh, it's just 'cause their parents died. Yeah, I mean, they're both just totally going through a blah phase. They used to be way more fun. And I say that with complete sensitivity!" Caroline explained. Elena and Lexa's eyes widened in surprise as Caroline had said that.
Lexa was in complete shock. After all of Lexa's daily video chats and text messages with Caroline while she'd been in Belgium, and how she'd really opened up to the Forbes about how much living without Miranda and Grayson hurt her... she could not believe those words came out of Caroline's mouth.
"Oh.. girls, I'm sorry." Damon sighed, looking to Elena then to Lexa. "I know what it's like to lose both your parents. In fact, Stefan and I have watched almost every single person we've ever cared about die." He practically announced, trying to sympathise with them. "We don't need to get into that right now, Damon." Stefan replied, hoping his brother would drop the conversation.
"Oh, you know what, you're right, Stef. I'm sorry. The last thing I wanted to do was bring her up. Mmm."

Lexa needed to get away from the group.. she was sick of Damon and Caroline, and just needed a moment alone. Caroline's attitude tonight really got under her skin, and Damon's existence overall just pissed her off... Not to mention, it did hurt the Gilbert to see the pair so close... to see how much Caroline liked Damon.
All of this drama made Lexa want to smoke a joint, or pop some pills. But she wasn't going to do that, not when she'd been doing exceptionally well at staying sober.
So instead of doing drugs, Lexa found herself cleaning the dishes, to distract her from everything in her living room right now.
"One more." A voice spoke up, as the Gilbert turned around to see Damon, holding a dirty glass in his hand. "Thanks." Lexa replied, bluntly. Damon handed Alexia the glass, but dropped it and quickly caught it before it could shatter.
"Nice save." Lexa admitted, in surprise. "Hold on.. did I just see emotion in those eyes?" Damon asked, sarcastically. Lexa just ignored the boy.
"Earlier, did you mean...Katherine?" Lexa asked, her back turned to Damon as she went back to cleaning the dishes. She knew all too well about the ex girlfriend, from what Elena had told her. "Mm-hmm. She died in a fire. Tragic fire." Damon said to the siphon.
"Recently?"
"It seems like it was yesterday."
"What was she like?"
"She was beautiful. A lot like you in that department." Damon flirted, as Lexa rolled her eyes in annoyance. "She was also very complicated and selfish and at times not very kind, but very sexy and seductive." He admitted.
"Sounds to me like she wasn't just Stefan's girlfriend." Lexa admitted. "So which one of you dated her first?" She asked "Nicely deduced. Ask Stefan. I'm sure his answer differs from mine." Damon chuckled.
"I'd quit cheerleading if I were you." Damon suddenly suggested. Lexa really loved cheerleading, and she was happy she'd gotten back into it after her drug phase.
"Why do you say that?" She the. asked. "Oh, I saw you at practice. You looked pretty upset.." He admitted. "What was wrong?" Damon then asked, curiously.
"Nothing. It's definitely none of your business ." Lexa shrugged, hoping he'd just drop the conversation. Damon wasn't convinced. He touched her shoulder, causing her to turn around and face him. "You seem very unfriendly towards me. Why is that?" He asked, trying to compel her... little did he know, he couldn't compel a witch.
Lexa bit her lip, not wanting to talk. Damon stared at her impatiently, waiting for her to give him an answer. Finally, hoping to get Damon off of her back she said, "You have my best friend wrapped around your finger." Lexa said, deadpanning the vampire.
"Hmm.. interesting." Damon grinned, before he continued to interrogate her. "Are you a lesbian or something?" He asked. Lexa shook her head, "I'm bisexual, though I definitely lean more towards girls." She said, before she glared. "Are we done playing twenty one questions?" The brunette retorted.
Damon pondered for a moment, "Is Caroline the only reason you don't like me?" He asked, trying to compel her again. The siphon stayed quiet.
Damon reached out and grabbed her wrist, "Tell me?" He demanded. As Damon made contact with Lexa, she siphoned magic from him, and then said aloud a spell to telekinesis. Damon then suddenly, flew back and hit the wall with force.
Hearing the thud, Bonnie raced into the kitchen. "Is everything okay?" She asked, seeing the annoyed pair. "Yeah, I was just leaving to go and sit with Caroline." Damon declared, before he looked back at Lexa.
The brunette kept her glare, though deep down she was surprised she'd just used magic on the Salvatore.. not expecting to hurt him. "You're no ordinary girl." Damon said, before he left the kitchen.
"Lex.. what did you just do to Damon?" Bonnie asked Lexa curiously. Alexia turned to her best friend, "I may or may not have used telekinesis to shove him into the wall." She confessed. Bonnie tried to hold back a laugh.

Lexa tugged on her hair, tightening her ponytail one last time before she got out of her car. Elena had left the vehicle minutes earlier to see Stefan, though she wasn't in uniform. Elena had realised she didn't enjoy cheer anymore, and opted out of cheering for the football game.
She closed the vehicle's door and Lexa locked her car, before she looked up to see Caroline approaching her. The pair hadn't properly talked since Caroline had ditched the Gilbert for Damon.
"Hey Lexa." Caroline said, with an empathetic smile. Lexa shoved her car keys in her pocket before she faced Caroline. "Hey Care." She responded, annoyance still evident in her voice.
"Hey.. I'm really sorry about leaving you for Damon the other night.. I feel so bad. I swear I'll make it up to you— Do you want to have a sleepover soon?" Caroline asked, clapping her hands together eagerly.
"Yeah, that'd be nice." Lexa said, before her tight lipped expression turned into a smile. Caroline smiled back brightly, and Lexa found herself blushing slightly as she noticed how beautiful her best friend looked.
Caroline then wrapped her arms around Lexa and hugged her. "I've seriously missed talking to you." She admitted happily. Lexa was taken by surprise, but then hugged the girl back. "Cmon, lets go find everyone else." Lexa then suggested. The pair let go of eachother, as Caroline linked arms with the brunette and they walked away from the carpark.
They approached Stefan and Elena, who had been talking. Stefan seemed to have given Elena a necklace, inside sealed a type of herb. As the cheerleaders approached the pair, Caroline looked at Elena in disgust as she was in casual clothes. "And you're not in uniform because...?!" The blonde demanded.

The game had gone on for a while, the crowds were cheering loudly as the teams played. The cheerleaders cheered them on from the sides.
It reached half time, and the cheerleaders and the crowd watched as Tyler got into an argument with the coach and stormed off.
"What's his deal?" Caroline asked, standing between Lexa and Bonnie. "I'm not sure.. but he is angry and heading towards my brother and Vicki, so that's a recipe for disaster." Lexa admitted, before she quickly left the girls, to see what Tyler was doing near them.
Jeremy being a smart ass, made a remark to Tyler and the pair broke out into a fight as Jeremy threw the first punch. "Tyler!! Tyler stop!" Vicki yelled. "Stop it, both of you!" Lexa growled, attracting more attention.
Stefan raced over, and grabbed ahold of Tyler's wrist as he tried to drag the boy away from Jeremy. Tyler turned around and punched Stefan, not seeming to have any effect. "Tyler!" Sienna hissed in annoyance, as she witnessed him punch Stefan. "Oh my god!!" Allira blurted, shocked by her brother's actions.
Jeremy looked onto the ground and found a broken glass bottle. He quickly picked it up and went to strike Tyler with it. As the raven haired boy moved out of the way, he hit Stefan instead.
"Jeremy! What the hell?!" Lexa growled, grabbing his arm as he pulled her brother away from Tyler. "Put your head up, your bleeding." She added. "I'm fine!" Jeremy snarled at his sister. "Yeah. You smell fine." The brunette sarcastically retorted, as her brother reeked of of alcohol and marijuana.
"Oh my god, your hand!" Elena gasped, looking to Stefan as he'd been cut by the glass. Quickly, the vampire closed his palm and put his hand behind his back.
"No, no, no, it's fine!" Stefan insisted, trying to keep his hand away from Elena. "Is it deep? How bad is it? Come on!" Elena demanded, before grabbing his palm. To her surprise she opened his hand to find nothing there.

Tyler had dashed away from the group, needing to be alone. Much to his disgust, his cousin followed after him.
"Go away Cece." Tyler huffed, sensing her presence. "No, what the hell is your problem?" Sienna asked, reaching Tyler now. "Jeremy, he's a douche bag!" Tyler insisted. "Why do you two fight so much? And over Vicki Donovan, seriously? You could do so much better than that junkie!" Sienna insisted, honestly.
"Why do you care anyway!?" Tyler snapped, sick off all of the questions. Sienna blinked in surprise, "Why do I care?" She asked, repeating the question as she was surprised he even asked her.
"Ty, you're basically my brother! I have lived with you my entire life and I know you.. you're not violent. You have a big heart and honestly you are really wasting it on trash like Vicki." Sienna spat, crossing her arms before she walked off, leaving Tyler.
Allira watched the pair, as Sienna had stormed off. She wanted to approach the her family members and suggest they work things out, but she knew she'd be met with hostility.
Even when fighting, she knew that Sienna and Tyler were closer than she'd ever be with either of them.

Lexa walked to her car, hoping to grab her jacket she'd left on the back seat. Walking through the car park, she was startled by a tall man with black hair.
"Damon?" Lexa asked, recognising the boy. "You scared me. What are you doing here?" She demanded, as she frowned. "I'm hiding from Caroline." Damon responded.
"And why is that?" Lexa raised an eyebrow. "I needed a break. She talks more than I can listen." Damon confessed, honestly. "That could be a sign." The brunette said, feeling like the boy was making excuses. "Well, she's awfully young." Damon added as Lexa raised an eyebrow, "You already knew that before going into this." She reminded the Salvatore.
"I don't see it going anywhere in the bigger picture. I think she'd drive me crazy." Damon chuckled. Lexa wasn't amused, and raised an eyebrow. "Caroline can be a bit over the top sometimes, yes. But she is my best friend and I don't appreciate the way you're talking about her." Lexa spoke sternly. "Don't lead her on. If you don't like her, just be honest." She added.
"I'm sorry if I make you uncomfortable. That's not my intention." Damon began, as Lexa rolled her eyes. "Yes, it is. Otherwise you wouldn't put an alternate meaning behind everything you say." She stated, as she put her hand on her hip.
"You're right. I do have other intentions, but so do you." Damon said, before taking a step closer to Lexa. "Really?" The Gilbert asked, unamusedly. "Mm-hmm. I see 'em. You want me." The vampire said with a grin. Lexa couldn't help but to snort with laughter, not believing what she was hearing. "Excuse me?"
Damon looked into Lexa's eyes, trying to compel her. "I get to you. You find yourself drawn to me. You think about me even when you don't want to think about me. I bet you even dreamed about me. And right now...You want to kiss me."
Damon then felt a harsh pain as Lexa had struck his cheek, with the palm of her hand. Siphoning magic all the while, she used a spell to inflict pain on the vampire. He dropped to the ground and tried not to yell in pain, as he felt like his head was going to explode.
"Don't you dare try something like that again.. you and I? Never going to happen." Lexa declared, before she eased the pain from the vampire. "You're a witch.." Damon managed to groan, in pain.
Lexa just shot him a grin, before it turned back into a glare, "Stay the hell away from me, asshole." She said before she turned on her heels and left.

Tyler and Matt argued as they exited the football field. Matt argued that Tyler was a bully. Tyler had defended himself and antagonised Jeremy.
This went in circles as they walked, but finally stopped as the boys froze.. finding a lifeless body on the ground in front of them.
"Is that.." Tyler blurted, before he covered his mouth. "T-Tanner!?" Matt blurted. "Somebody help!" The blonde then yelled out.
