MILO WAS GOING SLIGHTLY CRAZY, AND HE WAS SOMEWHAT CONCERNED HE WAS SWEATING THROUGH HIS SHIRT as he followed after Juno, the perky brunette already aimlessly talking about everything under the sun and beyond as they biked in the heat. With every second he moved closer towards the Mall, and further away from the safety of his home, the more nervous he became. Of course Juno didn't even notice his jittery behaviour, after all, the only way she had seen him so far was as a stuttering awkward mess.

"The first thing I need is ice cream when we get there." Juno announced, snapping him out of his spiel of worried thoughts. "I am used to the heat, but this is something else." She giggled, brown hair waving wildly in front of her face as she glanced towards him.

Milo just smiled at her, bright and large like he always did. Juno wondered if the tall-and slight strange boy even knew what a frown was at this point, but all she knew was the she found it slightly endearing to see.

She wouldn't deny that she had found Milo very intriguing the moment she had met him. Never had she met a boy that was as shy and soft spoken as Milo. For some reason he had easily captured her attention, and all Juno wanted to do was get the know him better and see if there was another boy behind this so seemingly shy kid.

It had greatly surprised her that she even wanted to entertain that notion, after all, she and her mother had moved more often than not. She had never stayed in a place for long time, never even really finishing a whole school year and it had made her refrain from getting close to anyone. She didn't want to get attached to anyone only for her to leave them behind a couple months later.

But for some reason, Milo seemed to be a boy worth knowing. She only didn't know that the secrets behind his mystery would be some that would change her life forever

The blonde boy opened his mind, ready to say something but before he could get a word out, Starcourt Mall came into view, lots and lots of people surrounding the place as they laughed and smiled loud and happily. He breathed in nervously as he realised how many people there actually were-far too many people if Jim would have had any say in it. But he trusted Joyce with his life, and is she said it was okay, then it was okay.

Maybe Eleven was right, Milo thought as Juno let them toward the biking racks, maybe it was time to start enjoying himself more.

"Come on!" Juno laughed, latching on his arm to pull him with her through the busy crowd, the blonde boy unaware of the bus that just arrived with his little sister inside it.

Milo looked on in awe as they entered, loud music playing through the speakers and people walking in and out of the dozens of stores inside the building. "Come one, this way." Juno grinned as she nudged him towards the escalator that led them to the ice-cream parlour and this time Milo gladly followed, all worries leaving his mind for the moment.

With wide and excited eyes, he looked up at the store, Scoops Ahoy, lingering behind while Juno already went inside to wait in line before finally coming to his senses to go and stand beside the brunette girl.

"Welcome  to Scoops Ahoy!" Startled, Milo looked up to see none other than Steve Harrington in front of him, a blue sailor costume and matching head on his mope of dark hair. "What can I g-Milo? What are you doing here?"

"Uh." Milo replied nervously, "getting ice cream."

"Yeah no shit sherlock, I didn't know you were allowed to go." Steve grinned, just as another girl popped up from behind him as she opened a small window that separated the front of the store and the break room.

"We've got our first sentence." She stated excitedly, and even smugly to the boy behind the counter.

"Oh seriously!" Steve turned to face her fully while Juno and Milo exchanged confused glances.

"He a friend of yours?" Juno leaned towards Milo to whisper softly.

"Yeah." Was all Milo could manage to reply.

     "He's kinda weird."

"No," Milo shook his head, if he had seen anything the last year, Steve had been a badass in his eyes. "He's really cool."

     "Really?"

     "Really."

Juno hummed, leaning on the counter with her elbows to overhear the conversation between the two Scoops Ahoy employees.

     "the week is long."

"Well that's thrilling." Steve replied monotonal, clearly being sarcastic as he stared at the short haired girl.

"I know," She perked up slightly, but Milo didn't know why. "-but progress."

"What are you guys doing?" Juno wondered, clearly her interest had been piqued by the strange conversation that took place in front of her, and Milo could say the same.

"Nothing." Steve hurriedly replied to the pretty girl in front of him, only now realising the stranger and Milo were here together. "Who are you, and how do you know Milo?"

Steve didn't ever say it, but he did worry a bit about Milo, especially after everything that had happened to the boy before they had met. And knowing the chief, Steve could not believe he would let his son go out with stranger, especially if they would go to crowded places.

"I'm Juno." She beamed, sticking her hand out for the boy.

     "Steve Harrington."

"Nice to meet you." She nodded, eyes already flicker back towards Milo who was curiously looking at all the ice cream flavours on display, a concentrated expression on his face and the brunette smiled faintly.

Steve grinned at the interaction, "What can I get you two?"

"Chocolate for me please." Juno stated, before looking back at Milo, waiting for the blonde to pick.

"Uh-the same is fine." He nodded, not really sure what he even wanted in the first place.

Steve nodded, making fast work of getting the two teens their cones, already ready to go back to Robin and figure out the rest of the secret Russian code.

"On the house." Steve handed both the cones and Milo grinned in appreciation at the older boy.

"Thanks!" Juno was almost bouncing on her feet as she took the ice cream and turning on her heel. But Milo lingered for a moment when he realised no one else was in line.

"What were you talking about? What sentence?" Milo felt worried, he hadn't told anyone yet, but he had been feeling strange lately, and if that was anything to go on before with the Upside Down, he was fearing that it was once again related to it.

Steve hesitated for a second before leaning in closer to the blonde boy, both hands rested on the counter as he leaned over it. "A secret Russian code." The boy whispered, but it had been so soft, he couldn't even make out a single word.

    "What?"

"a secret Russian code." Steve repeated once more, but it was again mumbled mess that sounded more like gibberish than English.

     "huh?"

"A secret Russian code!" Steve exclaimed in frustration, throwing his hands up in the air before his eyes widened comically large when he realised what he had just done.

Once again the window behind him opened up, the same short haired girl popping out, but beside her was another familiar face.

"Steve!" Dustin exclaimed horrified, "are you out of you mind!"

"Oh shut it Henderson. "Steve rolled his eyes, "You did the same thing earlier today. Beside it's not like anyone beside Milo heard it."

Dustin just glared at the older boy, before his eyes flickered towards the blonde boy, but his attention was immediately caught by the brunette girl standing a few feet behind Milo looking strangely at him. She didn't give any indication that she had heard Steve, as she smiled innocently at them but Dustin couldn't be so sure.

"Oh." Milo blinked, not sure if he should be happy about the idea of secret Russian codes or be happy that it hadn't anything to do with the Upside Down. "I'll leave."

He however did not get a response as the three began to bicker loudly about keeping secrets and being discreet while he awkwardly backed away from the group and back to Juno's side.

"You have strange friends." Juno spoke up as the two walked away from Scoops Ahoy leaving the strange conversation behind.

"A little yeah." Milo replied absentmindedly before coming to a halt suddenly making Juno bump into his side.

     "What's wrong?"

     "My sister."

"What?" Juno frowned confused trying to see what the tall blonde beside her was seeing.

"My little sister is here." Milo stated with wide eyes as concerned blossomed inside his heart.

"Oh that's nice!" Juno beamed brightly, "I didn't know you had a sister. I'm an only child, but I always wanted a sibling." The girl started to ramble excitedly. "You should introduce us." She suggested.

     "No."

"No?" Juno frowned as she stared at the boy who was becoming more frenzied by the second as he looked at the lower floor.

Milo didn't reply as he suddenly started to walk again, leaving the brunette girl behind standing in shock. She suddenly snapped out of her trance and hurriedly followed her new friend down the stairs as he pushed through the big crowd.

"Milo!" Juno shouted after the boy as she lost him in the crowd, "Milo!?"

Juno huffed, crossing her arms over her chest and blowing a stray piece of hair out of her face as she looked around her hoping to spot the boy somewhere but her efforts remained fruitless.

"What the hell." She muttered quietly.
