JUNO AND MILO HAD BARELY MANAGED TO SHOUT A QUICK GOODBYE, NO EXPLANTIONS GIVEN TO CLAIRE CARLTON AS THEY RUSHED OUTSIDE JUNO'S APARTMENT. COMPLETELY IGNORING CLAIRE'S baffled look, especially when she noted the metal baseball bat her daughter carried with her. They had rushed outside, the cruel summer heat beating on their exposed skin, and coating them in sweat the moment they started to bike down the street.

During the short trip, Milo tried his best to explain whatever the hell was happening, but truly, the boy had no clue either. He remembered the almost familiar feeling of the Mind Flayer crawling up his skin the day Dustin returned from his summer camp. He had blamed his imagination for those feelings that day. The Mind Flayer was dead. Right? He was no longer connected to the monster, he did not feel its presence like he did before. But then again, should he have survived the dead of the monster? Afterall they had been connected, and every other being connected to it had died without the connection being severed.

"Do you even know how to get on the roof?" Juno asked out of breath, face red and sweaty as her brown hair clung to her face. She nervously fiddled with the bat in her hand as her eyes roamed the parking lot of Starcourt Mall.

"No." Milo shook his head, quickly locking his bike against a fence next to Juno's. "But I can find them."

"How—" Her words got cut off as Milo closed his eyes, his brows creasing together as he focused on the familiar pull of an invisible string connecting him to others.

Juno watched in awe, even though she did not understand what was happening. Slowly Milo opened his eyes, and for a split second she could see his eyes flash an eerily blue light.

"I know which way to go." Milo told her, only for his breath to hitch in his throat as Juno suddenly placed two fingers between his eyes, trying to smoothen out the frown that had remained there. "What are you doing?"

Juno blushed, quickly retracting her hand, "I-I don't like it when you frown. Makes you look so serious." She stuttered out.

Milo only smiled kindly at her, his face softening in a more relaxed expression. "Let's go." He pressed, latching onto Juno's wrist to pull the girl along with him towards a place she had not been before when visiting the mall.

Swiftly as if he had done it a million times, the blonde manoeuvred around the building and backdoors, as if he had known the doors would be unlocked. Every other second he would close his eyes momentarily, but he remained walking.

"How do you know which way to go?" Juno whispered as they hurried up another set of stairs.

    "I can see them."

Juno's own brows furrowed at the words, "See them?"

"Like...ghosts?" Milo tried to elaborate, "I can see where they have been. Well not see." He paused again as they stopped in front of a metal door. "Sense where they have been."

Milo pushed the metal door open at it screeched loudly making both teens flinch, as he did, another shriek echoed over the rood, startled by the sudden intrusion.

Dustin whirled around, binoculars still in hand and pure fear written across his face, before slowly relaxing again when he saw Milo standing before him, with someone else almost hiding behind his tall figure. "You called?" The blonde smiled lopsidedly.

"Thank god." Dustin breathed out, rushing to grab Milo's wrist to tug him with him back inside, her barely spared a look at Juno who remained just as wide eyed as she did when Dustin first called a code red. "Steve has been pacing the backroom of Scoops Ahoy like a worried mother hen, and we can't waste anymore time! We have to stop the Russians!"

"Uh, excuse me?" Juno called out almost afraid to interrupt Dustin's mad rambling. "But what are we supposed to do against Russians with big guns?"

"Look you're new." Dustin didn't even look at her when he spoke as they ran down the stairs, "and we saved the world two times already." He held up two fingers to bring the point across. "We can handle a couple Russians."

"We had Eleven with us," Milo stuttered, as Juno's curious eyes locked on him, "And she can throw things with her mind. I cannot throw things with my mind, or anything helpful against guns."

    "Steve! The calvary is here!"

"The what?" Milo stammered as Dustin pushed him through the door.

"Milo!" Steve cheered happily, "Finally. Come, come, we need to make a plan of attack!"

"Okay." Dustin started as he sat down on a chair, "They have a key card that opens the door, but unfortunately, the Russian with the key card also has a massive gun. Whatever is in this room, whatever's in those boxes, they really don't want anyone finding it."

"This is crazy." Juno whispered in Milo's ear as her eyes remained on Dustin who started to pace around the small room now. "Absolutely mad."

"But there's got to be a way in." Robin muttered with a frown.

"Well, you know," Steve started smugly, leaning forward with his elbows resting on the table, "I could just take him out."

    "Take who out?"

    "The Russian guard."

"Wait the one with the massive gun?" Juno gasped.

"What, I sneak up behind him, I knock him out and I take his key card. It's easy."

"Did you not here the part about the massive gun?" Juno exclaimed with wide eyes.

"Yes, girl I don't know the name of, I did." Steve replied begrudged. "And that's why I would be sneaking."

"well, please, tell me this, "Dustin cut in with his arms crossed over his chest, "and be honest, have you ever actually won a fight?"

    "Okay, that was one time."

"Twice, Jonathan. Year prior remember." Dustin interrupted him before pointing at Milo "I think Milo has more chance of taking him out than you Steve."

"What?!" Steve spluttered, "How many fights has he won? Is he the undefeated champion of some sort of secret cult fighting arena in that lab?"

No one noticed Juno's winch at the mention of Brenner's lab.

"No, he actually rescued Will in the Upside Down, saved Bob before he got mauled even though he eventually did kick the bucket, and then almost died to save Will again from the clutches of the Shadow Monster."

Milo shrunk back in his seat. "I don't think the Russian with his massive gun is in need of saving Dustin."

The argument continued on for several minutes, and much to Steve's dismay, kept going back to how he was completely destroyed by Jonathan last year before Robin suddenly sprung to her feet. "That might just work!"

She was moving around as fast as lightning, rushing to gather her stuff before she went back to the front of the store while, Juno, Milo, Dustin and Steve leaned through the small window parting the two rooms.

Robin was scooping the money from the tip jar, much to Steve's protests before dashing out the store.

"What are you doing?! Hey Robin! Hey!"

    "I need cash!"

"Well, half's of that is mine!" Steve stammered but the short haired girl ignored him. "Where are you going?"

"To find us a way into that room. A safe way! And in the meantime, sling ice cream, behave, and don't get beat up. I'll be back in a jiff."

They all watched, stunned as Robin disappeared from view, merging with the bustling crowd.

Steve turned his focus to Juno, eyes pausing at the baseball bat strung on her backpack and to her hand that was latched on Milo's wrist, almost afraid to let go of him. "Who the hell are you?"

Juno whirled around to face him, "Juno Carlton. Daughter of mad scientist Brenner." She said it so casually that he almost started to doubt he heard her correctly.

    "Wait what!?"
