"I mean, I just- I can't get it out of my head." Topper says. "Bro, he had a semiautomatic pointed at your head. Safety off." Kelce adds. "That's what i'm saying. It's insane." Topper answers. "They're freaking Pogues, man." Rafe decides to respond. "You know you should get a piece." "What do you mean?" Topper asks, "You gotta fight fire with fire and defend the homestead." "Listen I-I'm gonna get him back, all right? I'm making it a little project of mine." "Yeah, you should man." Rafe says supporting Topper.
"Yo, there's Sarah and Maddy." Kelce suddenly says pointing at us. "So, you left her in the boat?" Sarah asks the little girl, "Mhm." She nods her head. "Okay, can you tell us what she looks like?" I ask her. "She has a trunk and blue ears." She responds.
"Okay, I'm gonna get her for you." Sarah says standing up. "Be careful of electricity." I tell her. "Don't worry, I'll be okay." She starts to climb on the side of a boat. "What is she doing?" Topper asks me as he stands next to me. "Getting her toy." I answer looking at the little girl next to me.
"Watch her fall and make a big drama out of it." Rafe says and I roll my eyes at him. "Hey, there's 14000 volts in those wires." Rose yells from the balcony. Sarah loses her balance a little but doesn't fall. But that's when I notice that the cable is disconnected.
"Hey, Sarah, be careful." Topper yells at her. "Oh, you gotta be kidding me. Sarah, get down now!" Rose says walking up to her. "Rose, calm down. I'm an athlete. I got this." She responds. "You're gonna get electrocuted! Get down!" I couldn't stop laughing at the sight of Rose, knowing nothing bad could happen to her.
"She just wants attention." Rafe says again. "Can you just shut up for one second, please." I sigh turning to him. "Maddy." Topper adds, giving me that serious brother look. Sarah starts to dance a little, trying to get their stress to grow. "Sarah, that's not funny." Topper says. "When I tell your dad about this, Sarah..." Rose tries to scare her off.
"Little fried Sarah." Rafe responds. "Rafe, your sister's crazy, man." Kelce tells him. Sarah finally gets to the boat and starts to climb on it. "I see her." She smiles at the little girl, and she starts laughing from besides me. "When I tell your dad—" Rose starts but then Sarah 'falls' into the boat, pretending to be out. I gotta give her credits for this great performance.
"Sarah! Sarah!" Topper yells scared running towards her. But then she waves the cable around in the air showing it's cut loose. I couldn't hold my laughter in at this point. "It's disconnected." Sarah says laughing at the sight of Topper.
"For the love of God." Rose says annoyed. "Absolute sucker." Sarah says, "Topper, you should see your face." I say laughing at him. "Yeah, o-okay, yeah, I'm sorry that I care. All right, guilty." Topper says raising his hands to defend himself. "Congrats, pussy, you're officially her bitch." I tell him patting his back.
"And we were right outside like this." JJ imitates about their morning, "And all we hear is just, 'Bam! Bam! Bam!' Knocking paint off the wall, G! From the inside, all right? And i'm just looking at him and at that point i'm just waiting for death yeah." "Jeez JJ, come on." I roll my eyes at him.
"Oh, okay so you saw the guys that shot at us, right?" Pope asks. "Yeah." "Did you get a good description of them, what did they look like? Anything that we can take to like a police report?" "Burly." JJ responds proud. "Yeah that's not helpful." Kie sighs. "Okay well, no, like the type of guy at my dad's garage. I can tell you with full confidence guys, these boys, these killers... they're square groupers." JJ says pitting up his cigarette. "Okay so what does this square grouper look like, specifically?"
Pope asks while they kept going no where. I saw John B fiddling with his Compass. "What are you doing?" I ask him. "The office." He suddenly says. "What?" "My dad. My dad's office. He always kept the office locked because he was worried about his competitors stealing his Royal Merchant research. We used to laugh at him like he was actually gonna find it. But now that he's gone, I've just kinda.. I just left it as he kept it." John B says grabbing the key for the office. "Yeah, for when he gets back." Kie says, "Yeah."
We walk in and look at the generations who used the Compass. They all died. "Yeah uhh, you have a death compass." I say. "I do not." "You have a death compass." "Seriously dude, get rid of it. It's cursed, and it made its way back to you." JJ adds. "Look, my dad used to talk about this compartment in here. Soldiers used it to hide secret notes." John B says opening the compass, but nothing was in it. "What's that?" Kie asks pointing at a word written on there. "That wasn't there before. This is my dad's handwriting."
"How can you know that?" Pope asks chuckling. "Because he does those weird Rs with the— see it?" "Red- Rout.." JJ tries to read it, "It says Redfield." I add, "Right." JJ says annoyed. "Okay, well, what's Redfield?" I ask. "Uh, maybe- maybe it's a clue right? Maybe it's a clue to where he's hiding." John B responds. "A clue? Come on, that's—" Pope tried to say but Kie gives him a serious look, "But if it is a clue, maybe it's an anagram?" "Yes. Perfect! Anagram. You need paper." John B says getting up.
I walk around and notice a black car coming up. "Guys.. Guys! Somebody's here." I yell. "Guys, guys, is that them?" Kie asks worried. "Oh no.." JJ adds. "John B, I told you man. Why does it always—" "JJ! Hey, look at me. Where's the gun?" John B seriously asks him. "Gun? I, uh, I can't—" He stutters. "Now you don't have the gun, the one time we need the gun?" I say getting worried too, "It was in my backpack, and then I—" "On the porch." John B realizes, "It's on the porch." JJ says running out the room. "John Routledge!" A man yells, so JJ comes running back immediately. "Come on out now! Where's the compass?" The man yells again.
They start searching the house. "We gotta leave!" I say. "Guys, window. Window." Kie adds. "Sack this place!" We hear glass shattering. "Why is it taking so long?" Kie asks stressed. "It's painted shut, okay?" JJ says, not getting the window to open. "Okay, guys. Guys. Here, I got it." Kie runs up to the window. Then a man tries to open our door, "You better not be in there!" He yells while he starts kicking the door. As soon as they entered we got out. We hid in the chicken hut and saw them taking boxes from the house.
Redfield Lighthouse. Big John's favorite place. The five of us get out of the car and look up to the lighthouse. "Right, here's what's gonna happen. You guys are gonna post up and look for bogeys, okay?" John B says pointing at me and JJ. "Wait.. Why us?" JJ asks, "Yeah?" I add with a questioning look on my face. "Because you guys are not coming." Pope responds. "Why?" JJ asks him. "Look, there are independent and dependent variables. And you guys are independent. We don't know what you'll do."
"No shut up!" "Listen to me for a second." John B says getting JJ's attention, "Mads, you stand look out with JJ. Okay? That's how we'll do it. If we get split up, we meet back at JJ's house." "Great." Kie answers. "At least let me come, dude." I try again. "Maddy no!" John B says walking away. "It was worth a try." I say shrugging my shoulders. "Well, here we are." I say sighing. "Yep. Amazing." JJ adds.
We take a seat at some stone wall. "Do you believe that big John, may still be alive?" I ask JJ. "No, Mads. I don't." He says looking at me, "—But I have to be there for JB." He adds and I nod at him. "You know, after death the human brain lives on for seven minutes to replay it's best memories." I tell JJ. "Oh really? Then you would be my seven minutes." He responds and I chuckle not thinking he was serious... But it looks like he's dead serious. We just keep looking at each other.
JJ and I have always had some sort of chemistry between us. But we never really went anywhere with it. I guess the whole 'no Pogue on Pogue macking' is stopping us. Or me, atleast. But I feel like it wouldn't be that wrong, right? I mean Kie and John B are kinda macking on each other.
JJ and I notice that a police car is entering, how to ruin a moment. "Shit!" JJ yells and we run to the car as fast as we could and drive off. "JJ stop! We need to wait for the rest." I say. "No no, John B said himself, if we split up to go to my house. I'm not waiting for them." John B, Kie and Pope got arrested but Kie's dad got them out of there.
Later John B pulls up into the drive way of JJ's house honking his car. "Let's ride." I tell JJ and Pope, running up to his car. "This better be good." JJ responds. We drive up to Kie's parents restaurant to pick her up.
"She says she's not comin'." Pope says walking out. "Why not?" I ask. "What'd you do to her, John B?" JJ adds. "Shit." He responds, "Hang on, I'll deal with it." He says getting out of the car and walking into The Wreck. He walks back out with her, so all good.
"You mind if I just relax on this one? It's been a long day, and a lot of weird stuff's gone down. I'm just gonna lay low." JJ says, "Oh, did you want a hit of this?" "No JJ." I answer. "Mads okay. Do you understand that your problem is that you don't get creative, you're just flirting with that stupid Kook boy." "What the hell are you talking about?!" I ask him. "What Kook boy?" John B adds. "Yeah that Rafe Cameron guy. I've seen you guys." "Oh my god JJ, that's nothing. I freaking despise the guy."
"Look, I know that I was wrong about the lighthouse, all right? And pretty much wrong about everything else going on. But, I— I was right about one thing. Okay? My dad is trying to tell me something." John B finishes.
"Gorgeous." JJ says playfully, pulling out his hand for me to take it. As my feet hit the ground, I release his hand and roll my eyes. "Stop flirting with me, you idiot." I sigh, my cheeks flushed with embarrassment. Thank God it's night time.
JJ takes a puff of his weed before raising his hands in the air acting innocent. "I'm not flirting with you, but if you want me to flirt, I'll flirt." He defends his self with a smirk on his face while smoke escapes from his mouth. Hot.
"Guys, stop flirting with each other." Pope interrupts us, reminding us to follow the rest of the group. "We have way more important things to do!"
"Hey, come on." John B says. "I'm coming. This place is scary." Kie answers. "John B, what are we doing?" I ask him, "Okay so you know how you're trying to remember a song and you can't remember who sings it?" "Yeah." I respond. "So, Redfield. This whole time, I thought it was a place, right? But it's not a place. It's a person." He says while walking up to someone's big ass tombstone.
"See, my great-great-grandmother, Olivia Redfield. That was her maiden name. Help me with the door, come on." He asks us. "All right. One, two, three." Pope helps him. "Hold on I got it." JJ helps them. "This door is like 700 pounds man. It's not gonna budge." Pope says. "We didn't come this far to get this far, all right? We got this!" JJ adds trying to pomp some confidence.
Suddenly a snake comes hissing out, "Whoa, whoa, whoa!" Pope says scared. "Ew, a snake!" I say disgusted. "That's a moccasin, all right. Ye olde Dr. Cottonmouth. Death in tall grass." JJ starts barking to the stupid thing. "JJ, shut up you dumbass!" I yell at him. "You're gonna wake the freaking dead, man." Pope tells him. "They're afraid of dogs. Everyone knows that man." JJ says acting innocent. "Wait, hold on. If there's one, there's probably dozens. All around." He adds. "Stop. You're scaring me." Kie says. JJ starts barking again, "JJ, stop barking at the snakes." I tell him again.
"John, look. We're not gonna get in there, all right? It's not budging. We should probably just go." Pope says being scared once again. "I can get through." Kie suddenly says. "What? No, no, no. You think you're gonna fit through the hole? That hole?" John B asks looking at her. "Look, this is about your dad. And honestly, I really don't believe in it, but you deserve to know the truth. I'll do it." We held the branches out of the way, "I'm gonna boost you, all right? I've seen it in the movies several times." JJ says leaning up against the door.
"Remind me what we're looking for." She asks. "You'll know when you see it." John B responds. "Okay flashlight." She says while being inside. "You alive? You got like, a heartbeat and everything?" I ask her. "So far." She responds. "Uh.. I need some more light." "Yeah, yeah here. Yeah I gotcha." John B answers hanging the light inside. "Did you find something? Is there gold?" JJ asks. "Oh, my god."
