act one: the disappearance of alison
(THE HOMECOMING HANGOVER )

"Emily!" Sabrina yelled, running in the empty school hallways with Aria, Hanna and Spencer, all trying to find Emily, but finding no sign of her anywhere.

"Emily!" Aria yelled.

"Em, are you up here?!" Spencer asked, "Emily?!"

Spencer tried to turn the lights in the hallway on, but quickly turned them off when the lights started flickering.

"Um, why don't we split up?" Spencer suggested.

"Um, why don't we not?" Hanna retorted, refusing to split up from her friends.

"Hanna you can come with me" Aria assured.

"No" Sabrina snapped, "Splitting up is a bad idea I mean you guys watch criminal minds with me. Splitting equals death! "

"Fine!" Aria said, "We'll split up together"

"That's fine by me" Mariana said.

"Who are you calling?" Hanna asked, seeing Aria dial someone on her phone.

"I'm trying her until she picks up" Aria informed, letting Hanna know she was calling Emily.

While Aria called Emily, the four girls suddenly heard someone's phone ringing in the distance, exchanging a confused look, the four girls slowly started walking towards the sound.

Reaching the end of the hallway, the four girls saw a phone laying on the ground.

"This is Emily's phone" Sabrina  realized, picking the phone up.

Spencer looked towards the classroom infront of them, "Emily?!" she called out.

The four girls stepped into the classroom, and they were shocked seeing the state of the classroom, shattered glass was all over the floor and a huge shelve was knocked down.

"is that blood?" Hanna asked, pointing to a bloody piece of glass that was on the ground.

"Hanna, don't go there" Spencer warned, not wanting to think that anything had happened to the Fields girl.

"Why not?" Aria asked, "She was up here with Toby".

"She's fine" Sabrina assured, "She has to be fine, we're not losing another friend".

The four girls stood in the room, not knowing what to do, or where to go, all they hoped was that their best friend was okay.

The four best friends had gotten a call from Emily's mother, Pam Fields, informing them about Emily being in the hospital, and that they could visit her tomorrow at the Fields house,so Sabrina was on her way to pick up Everly from Jason.

As soon as Sabrina parks her car she runs up to all the way to jason apartment. Knocking when she reaches.

"Hey" Jason reply as soon as he sees who's at the door

"Hey" Sabrina replied walking into the apartment.

"How was homecoming" Jason said as he closed the door and leads Sabrina towards the kitchen.

"Um it was fun till Emily fell down the stairs but she fine"

"That's good"Jason said as grabs his coffee from the counter "do you want some coffee before you wake Eve up?"

"Please" Sabrina replied as she sat on the counter. "How was she?"

"She was good keep smiling the whole time than smacked me in the face with her toy and had a tooth ache around five but she was better after having medicine" Jason said as he hands her a cup of coffee.

"That's good" Sabrina said as take a sip "um so I have SAT's the day after Ali's memorial so me and the girls will be studying after it and the test is the next day so if you want to keep her over night if that's okay"

"Yea I can do that I'll take her with me after it and than you guys can study and than I can drop her off after"

"That's work's" Sabrina replied as she finished her coffee before standing up and walking towards the sink.

"I got it Rina you don't gotta do that" Jason said as he reached for the cup as he goes to grab it. It falls from Sabrina hands and falls to the floor.

Both bend down to pick up the glass not realizing that thier faces are close but as the look up there eye's connect both look down at each other lips moving in sync and connecting into a heated kiss standing Jason grabs Sabrina lifting her up grabbing her thighs a she wraps her legs around his waist. Jason puts the girl on the counter pulling her dress off before taking his shirt off as Sabrina grabs his buckle.

Jason wasted no time taking the girl's underwear off pulling the girl off the counter turning her around before roughly thrusting into her as she moans at the feeling of being filled in a year.

"Shh you gonna wake up Everly" Jason said covering the girl's mouth moving his hips faster. "You like that don't you"

Sabrina nods moaning into his hands as Jason squeezes her hip.

"Oh god I'm missed you" Jason groans kisses the girls neck.

On her way back home from Jason's apartment Sabrina could only think Oh, shit

Aria, Sabrina and Spencer as Everly was laying in the middle of Emily's bed were in Emily's room, Hanna running late.

"It was all in his shrink's file" Aria told Emily, who was sitting on her bed, a cast around her wrist and a small bandage on the side of her head, "Toby and Jenna had a relationship".

"Way beyond step-siblings" Spencer added.

Sabrina sighed, "You and I were wrong, Em" she said, standing beside Spencer, "Turns out Toby isn't misunderstood, Spence was right, he is the bad guy".

"So Jenna and Toby were involved romantically?" Emily asked, wanting clarification.

"I doubt I'd call it romantic" Spencer replied, "I doubt she had much of a choice"

"And that's what Alison saw when she threw the stink bomb" Aria said.

"Yeah, and she threatened to expose Toby which is probably why he wanted her dead" Spencer said.

"And we're thinking, maybe Ali isn't the only one he wants dead" Sabrina said.

"You don't believe us?" Spencer asked, shocked seeing the apprehensive look on Emily's face.

'I do, I--I just don't get it" Emily redlied

"Don't get what?" Sabrina asked confused.

"If Toby killed Alison and wanted to do the same to me, then why am I sitting in my bed and not in a body bag?" Emily asked.

"That's the million dollar question"
Sabrina replied.

"I told the police that when I went out for air, I tripped" Emily informed her friends.

"Well, why didn't you just tell them he attacked you?" Aria asked shocked.

"I didn't want to say anything until I talked to you guys first" Emily replied.

"Well, the truth is in the file" Spencer said, "You can tell them everything now"

"Well, not everything" Sabrina said,

"She can't tell them about the file, that will put Hanna in a lot of trouble".

"Fine, leave out the file" Spencer agreed.

"Who knew Rosewood had this many cops?" Hanna asked, entering Emily's room, and taking Toby's file out of her bag, " went to put this back, and they were outside the doctor's office talking to Toby's shrink, they know this was stolen"

"Can I see that?" Emily asked.

Hanna handed Emily the file, "If anyone saw me go into that building last night, I am so hosed" she said, just as Aria's phone rang.

"Is that from--".

"No, it's not from A" Aria assured,
"It's from my mom, she now uses me to communicate to my dad while my dad try's to use Sabrina to communicate with her"

"What did she say?" Sabrina asked.

"Ask your father if he plans to take the car in this week" Aria read.

Aria sighed, "My parents have gone from not talking to not texting, this sucks, we better go home".

"Yeah, I should probably go too" Spencer said, as Aria and Sabrina grabbed their bags and Everly.

"Uh, no, I just got here" Hanna said. "I didn't even get to hold Eve"

"That's what you get for being late,
Han" Sabrina teased.

"Hey, what do I do with that?" Hanna asked, pointing at the file in Emily's hand.

"Just shove it in your locker tomorrow" Aria replied, "We'll figure it out later."

"Bye Em" Sabrina waved grabbing Everly.

"Feel better Em" Spencer said.

"Bye" Aria said, as the three girls walked out of Emily's room, leaving Hanna and Emily to themselves.

As Aria and Sabrina get in the car fully Aria looks at her cousin see a look of regret on her face.

"What's with that look?" Aria said she buckles her seat belt

"What look?" Sabrina replied Aria gives her cousin a blank look which causes Sabrina to bite her lip.

"I did something last night and I regret it but don't really because it was was so fucking good to fully regret."

"And that was?" Aria pressed on.

"I had sex with Jason last night" Sabrina admits.

"SABRINA GRACE DIAZ WHAT IN GODS NAME WHERE YOU THINKING" Aria yelled

"Shhh don't wake Everly" Sabrina said cause Aria to give her another blank look "i don't know one minute we're talking about the next time he can see her than we're picking up glass after I drop the cup than we're kissing and bam we're having sex on his kitchen counter and he's fucking me from behind".

"So what now?"

"I don't know I'll figure it out." Sabrina answers shrugging.

Aria nods her head looking out the window before look back at Sabrina

"The kitchen counter?" Aria questioned and Sabrina shrugs again not wanting to talk about it anymore.

Aria nods before looking out the window again before looking towards the Diaz girl.

"Was it still good as before?"

"ARIA"

"What?, is was a question".

Sabrina and Everly laid on former girls bed, finishing up some school work when her aunt entered her room.

"You got some mail" Ella said handing the girl the envelope.

Sabrina nods taking it and opens it confused to see and check with a note on another sheet

Here some money for things she needs don't try and send it back I'm her father and since I can't be there every day for her and you I hope this will help- Jason

"What is it?" Ella asked seeing the girls face.

"It's a check from Jason for Everly" Sabrina said

"Okay what's wrong" Ella asked.

"What?" Sabrina asked confused look up from the check.

"You have that regret look on a your face all day, it's the same one you mom used to do when she ate all the doughnuts"

"Umm I did something" Sabrina replied.

"Okay? What did you do"

"Uh after homecoming I went to go pick up Eve from Jason's" Sabrina say nervously.

"Okay" Ella said

"We were just talking and I don't remember how it happened but it did" Sabrina recalled "and we had sex before I left and now I don't know what to do"

"Do you regret it?" Ella asked.

"A little bit" Sabrina replied,

"Hey" Mike greeted, entering Sabrina's room, all ready in his lacrosse gear, "Uh, dad's gonna drive me over to practice and stay for the game, should I save you a seat?"

"Uh, honey, I think I'm gonna have to miss this one" Ella replied, not wanting to sit next to Byron for a full game.

"Whatever" A hurt Mike said, walking away from his cousin and mother.

"Ella , you should go" Sabrina said,
"You can always sit away from Byron".

"Yeah, but that would look worse than not going at all, wouldn't it?" Ella said.

"What's more important Auntie , your son's happiness or what the world thinks?" Sabrina asked.

Ella looks at her niece for a minute before walking out.

"So you told my mom about what happened homecoming night?"
Aria asked, slightly shocked as she sat on the bed next to Everly's head.

"Yeah" Sabrina replied. "He sent me a few hundred dollars for things for her"

"So nothing going to happen anymore with Jason?"

Sabrina sighed, "I'm not over him" she admitted, "I don't think I'm ever going to be fully over Jason, but I can't just kick him out of our lives but maybe it's time to try moving on but still be able to co parent with him".

Aria smiled at her cousin  "I'm proud of you".

"Thank you" Sabrina said, Before the two cousins could continue their conversation, there was a knock on Sabrina's door.

"Can I interrupt?" Byron asked, entering Sabrina's room.

"How was the game?" Aria asked.

"Well, they lost but your brother tore up the field" Byron replied.

"Did Ella watch the game as well?"
Sabrina asked, hoping her words managed to change her Auntie mind.

"Uh, no" Byron replied, causing
Sabrina's hope to diminish, "No, she didn't but we missed her though".

"Do me and Bri have to tell her that or can you give her that message yourself?' Aria asked, slightly bitter.

"Listen, guys, nobody wanted it to come to this, okay?" Byron replied, ' mean. Me and Ella Have been together since we were kids"

"College" Aria corrected, "You two were in college, when you got together dad, that's not being kids".

"No, we were kids" Byron corrected, "Neither one of us had ever been 50 miles away from home, we'd never-".

"Are you moving out?" Aria interrupted, no longer wanting to beat around the bush.

"If you are, then don't beat around the bush, just tell us" Sabrina said,
"Cause we  don't want to find out one day that you packed and left while we were setting your plate on the dinner table"

"I would never do that to you guys"
Byron assured, "Or your brother, but your mom thinks that it's best that we spend some time apart, so I have agreed to--".

"What?" Aria asked "You have agreed to move in with Meredith?"

"Moving out of this house is one thing dad, but if you're moving in with Meredith--

'I'm not moving in with Meredith" Byron assured his daughter and niece , "Sabrina , Aria, Meredith is not the issue here, Meredith is just a women that I work with, that's it, period".

"Yeah but there was a time that she wasn't just a women you worked with" Sabrina angrily added.

Aria snapped, "She was the women who helped you destroy your family".

Before Byron could stop her, Aria stood up and ran out of Sabrina's room, not wanting to hear anything else from her father.

"Hanna, what is wrong with you?" Aria asked, as her, Sabrina who paid Mike fifty bucks to watch Everly, Spencer and Hanna got out of the car and walked into the woods, "Hanna, Spencer's right, you can't burn the file out here".

"Look, this is a terrible idea" Spencer told Hanna, who refused to listen to anyone.

"Hanna, wait!" Sabrina yelled, running after the Marin girl, "Come on Han, let's talk about this before we do something we will later on regret".

"No! I don't want this in my house" Hanna snapped, "I don't want it in my locker".

"I will mail it to the police" Spencer suggested.

"No, it's not gonna happen" Hanna said, "I'm not having this traced back to me"

"How are they gonna trace it back to you?!" Spencer asked, "I'm the one licking the envelope!".

"Guys!" Aria yelled hoping to stop her friends from arguing but failing miserably.

"And I'm the one who works in that building" Hanna snapped, "I'm also the one who always gets caught".

"Hanna, burning Toby's file isn't going solve anything, maybe you should listen to Spencer' Sabrina said, "This file could help the police build a case against Toby, maybe they can use it to figure out if Toby killed Alison or not".

"He had a motive to kill Alison!"
Spencer reminded.

"And they can also prove that I broke into his shrink's office" Hanna said, "Look, I really can't afford to take any more field trips to the precinct, I'm pretty sure after three strikes you're assigned to the prison laundry and room".

"Hanna, what strikes?" Aria asked confused, "You were just trying to save your friend"

"Look, I have already gotten busted for stealing sunglasses and my bovfriend's car" Hanna replied.

"Wait, you stole sunglasses? From who?" Spencer asked shocked.

"Not from a person, from a store, god, I have some class" Hanna replied.

"Wait, are you talking about those, the Gucci ones with the hold?" Aria asked.

"How is that relevant?!" Sabrina asked her cousin .

"Exactly" Spencer said, "And Hanna this is not about petty theft, Toby could be the killer, we can't keep making these same mistakes over and over again".

"We?" Hanna asked.

"Yes, we!" Spencer snapped, taking the file from Hanna's hand, "Okay?
We are all in this together, we are all being stalked by A and if he's run off--"

"Okay, we don't know that he's A" Aria interrupted.

"Please! Have you gotten one single text since last night?" Spencer asked.

"Okay, the devil has a name, and it's Toby", Hanna ignored Spencer and snatched the file from her and walked away, "Why are you being so pig-headed?!"

"Why?" Hanna asked, as the trio followed her towards the river,
"Because I don't have a big, fat safety net to catch me, not all of us have a daddy who can write a check to make the boogeyman go away".

"What are you talking about?"
Spencer asked, taking the file from Hanna.

"Spencer, you get caught stealing an essay and your parents let you take a picture for the newsnaner" Hanna snapped "get caught stealing an accessory and I have to lug around medical waste"

"Wait, you stole an essay?' Sabrina  asked, Spencer who still hasn't  come clean to her.

Before Spencer could say anything,
Aria took Toby's file from Spencer and threw it into the river, shocking everyone.

"There, it's done, okay?" Aria snapped.

"That was dumb" Sabrina told her cousin .

"Agreed" Spencer said.

"Look, we never saw it, and we don't even know it exists" Aria said, "Can we leave now, please?".

As the girls started to walk away,
Sabrina's phone rang.

"Guys, it's a message from Emily" Sabrina informed.

"What did she say?" Spencer asked.

"Whatever you do, don't destroy that file" Sabrina read out loud.The four girls looked at each other in panic, wondering what happened this time.

"Hey, are you taking something for the pain?" Spencer asked Emily, as she, Emily and Sabrina stood at Spencer's locker.

"Yeah, but nothing that dulls my mother" Emily replied, "She's got a zillion questions and they're getting harder to dodge".

"She's worried for her only daughter, Em" Sabrina said, "She has a right to ask questions, it just sucks we can't come chan to our narents"

"Yeah" Emily whispered, feeling guilty for hiding the truth from her mom.

"I can't believe Jenna was in your house" Spencer said, "You didn't eat that cookie, did you?".

"No" Emily assured.

"What could have Jenna put in a cookie?" Sabrina asked confused.

"Poison" Spencer replied.

"Spence, if Jenna was going to try to kill Emily, then she wouldn't give poisonous cookies that could very easily be traced back to her" Sabrina said. "The bitch would probably poison herself"

"I just don't trust her" Spencer said, as her phone started ringing.

"Neither do I, but if she is A, then there's no way she is killing us with poisonous cookies" Sabrina said.

"Is that from?"

"It's okay, it's not from A" Spencer assured Emily, checking her phone, " think we can finally stop flinching every time our phones ring, hey, it's from Alex"

"That's if Toby is A" Sabrina mumbled.

"What's wrong?" Emily asked, seeing Spencer dejected face.

"Alex just blew off our do-over date"
Spencer revealed, "Says he has to work".

"Sounds like a legit excuse" Sabrina said, confused with Spencer's reaction. "It's not, club is closed on Mondays" Spencer informed, making Sabrina and Emily realise that Alex lied to Spencer.

"Or maybe, he actually is working, maybe he's preparing something for tomorrow?" Sabrina suggested, shelooped her arm with Spencer, "Don't jump to assumptions until you know for sure Alex is lying i mean that place gets rented out for party and shit all the time"

"'Im going to go to the club after school" Spencer stated, letting
Sabrina's words sink in.

"That's my girl" Sabrina said, smiling at her best friend. Spencer laughed and the three best friends walked over to their next class.

Sabrina was at her locker when she heard yelling, turning around, the two were shocked seeing Sabrina's cousin Mike fighting with someone.

"What did you say to me?!" Mike
asked, punching a guy in his grade.

"Mike!" Sabrina yelled, running over to her cousin, she ran and pushed the two guys away from each other and Some guy quickly grabbed Mike and stopped him from attacking the guy, "What the fuck are you doing?!".

"Leave me alone" Mike snapped, getting out of the guys grip and shoving Sabrina to the side, but before she could fall, The guy quickly grabbed her by her waist.

"You okay?" The guy asked, helping Sabrina stand properly.

"Yeah I'm fine thanks" Sabrina said following Mike.

"Michael Scott Montgomery, stop!" Sabrina yelled, running up the stairs, trying to get to her cousin before he ran into his room.

"What?" Mike snapped, "What do you want, Bri?!".

"I just wanted to make sure you were okay" Sabrina replied, "I'm sure your mom and dad have already told you about their decision"

Mike nodded, "Are you leaving with her?" he asked.

Sabrina shook her head in denial,
"No, I'm not" she replied.

"Why?" Mike asked, "I thought you told my mom that if she ever moved out, you would go with her".

"I did tell her that, but then I realized my cousin needs me more" Sabrina replied.

"Why didn't my mom and dad think about us, Bri?" Mike whispered.

'I think they did think about us"
Sabrina replied, "They are trying to save us from listening to their everyday fights, Mike".

"They ruined our family" Mike said.

"Your family isn't ruined, Mike" Sabrina assured, "Just cause your mom and dad aren't together anymore, doesn't mean we are no longer a family, we're always going to be a family, no matter what just like I will always be your family even if I'm not fully related to you did you know my mom and dad we're thinking about a divorce before they died like 7 months before my mom was staying here you remember?"

Mike nods look at his hands

"But in the end they decided that they wanted it to work out so they spent some time apart tried to see different people but in the end they came back to each other so maybe that what they need Mike they have been married for a really long time it's gonna take some time for them to get over this bump"

Mike looked at his cousin , then after a moment turned around and walked into his room.

Mike, Sabrina decided to spend some time with Aria, currently, the two girls stood by Aria's window, they watched as the Montgomery couple put all of Ella stuff into her car boot, and she gets into the car and drives away, while Byron watched on.

Aria looked at her cousin with tears in her eyes, the thing they were trying to stop from happening from the past year, had now happened, Byron and Ella Montgomery have officially separated.
