with adam cole being all elite wrestling's newest signee, it was safe to say that the elite was back together and stronger than ever. not to say that you were losing your spark in the last few months, but the presence of your returning friend definitely reignited something in you and you saw that it wasn't just you. kenny, matt, nick, heck, even the good brothers and don who wasn't even that close to him in the first place had a new swagger in their walk as a result.

some of the main guys in your group, that being kenny and the young bucks were not really known to be party goers as they were straight-edge and not that social but, you had made it a priority to at least have a bit of a get-together with the elite. it would be just as fun as any other party but only members of the super elite would be invited. once you brought up that idea to them, they were estatic and said that they couldn't wait for it to come to fruition, exciting you further.

during that day, much to don's disapproval, you weren't able to focus much on your matches and segments, not being able to fully cheer your boys on because you couldn't help but already plan some of the things for the party like where it would be held, what kind of snacks would be served, what kind of overall vibe you would want it to have. something you were sure about though, was that it wasn't going to be a boring office party, or a formal black tie occasion - though you did know kenny was quite fond of his suits in the past few months - you wanted it to be casual, while also seeming luxurious and worthy for a king -- well kings, actually. during that night, you talked to matt until midnight about everything him and the boys wanted - he knew them well enough, after all - for the party. although halfway through the conversation, it had taken a more personal turn and it wasn't just about the party anymore. you were still able to pick up bits and pieces of information you could use for the get-together, though.

you spent so long planning, sparing no expense. you were either putting your all into doing this, or you weren't doing it at all. you decided against the latter. you jot down everything matt said that the boys - along with him - would enjoy and you were absolutely using all of those information when setting everything up.

in your hunt for the perfect place for it to be held at, you stumbled across a diamond in the rough, a penthouse in los angeles that was inexpensive compared to the ones located near it. you dug more into this and found out that a lot of the cost were the mini bars and the staggering amount of liquor they stored. the penthouse you were eyeing up didn't lack alcohol per-se, but it just had a smidge less of it compared to the other ones.

you thought of the drinkers in the elite, there was still a lot of drinks in the penthouse you wanted and besides, it wasn't like they could drink that much you thought as you stared at one of the photos of the building. that was just flat out unhealthy, and even if they technically could drink that much, since you prided yourself on being a good friend, you wouldn't let them.

you dialed the contact number that was listed at the bottom of the website and had a pleasant conversation with the man on the other side of the line. you were able to rent the penthouse for three days, smooth out the payments, as well as the few do's and don't's they had. you couldn't decide whether you thought it was because celebrities who passed by there either liked to party hard, or if there were no celebrities who wanted to go there so they made a very small rule list to make it more appealing.

that was the first box that got ticked off on your party planning list. you figured that it was the hardest and most important that you did it first because if you couldn't find the perfect venue for this, then you would want to change up the whole theme of the party. getting the right place was absolutely crucial and you were glad you were able to do it.

you weren't planning to do something extra fancy for the food either, just opting to buy a large amount of the boy's favorite snacks from the grocery store across the street. you knew they aren't the type to only eat fancy food, and you doubt there would be much eating involved in the first place.

drinks weren't that much of a problem either. the penthouse already had the alcohol figured out, so you would simply buy some water and soda at the grocery. you debated on getting monster energy drinks as well, but given the history with the elite and energy drinks, you opted not to. that and the older buck also joked about it when you talked to him about the get-together.

there also wasn't going to be much decorating involved since it was just going to be a get-together of sorts, although you did contact the owner of the penthouse and asked if you were allowed to have a karaoke machine in there. the boys love karaoke, and much to your relief, you were allowed to. in fact, it turns out the man on the other side of the phone knows someone who rents karaoke machines and offered his number to you. you gladly accepted.

after a few phone calls and more than a few hours browsing the internet, you're finally finished. everything needed for the elite get-together has been sorted and ironed-out and today is the day that it's going to take place. you've never been more excited.

it's a sunday, the day in the week where you usually promised yourself to simply relax and promote self-care, but this is the only day all of them are free and you'd be damned if this party got cancelled. besides, it's not like you aren't going to enjoy setting everything up. it's going to be a productive, fun, day. you could tell.

one-by-one, you got everything done.

you checked the house out once again and it was as perfect as the first time you laid your eyes on it. everything that was promised to you that was part of the package was there and the rooms were spotless and ready for decorating. the man who owned it gave you once last rundown of the do's and don't's before handing you a list of phone numbers you could call when something went wrong, then leaving.

you brought the food and drinks after that, along with the few decoration supplies you thought would be cool to grab. it mostly consists of black and gold glittery party streamers, along with some that are more on the shiny side of things instead of the glittery. you figured they would look nice slung around the staircase and chandelier -- your fingers are crossed that it wouldn't break and shatter into a million expensive pieces. simply tossing it all around the room would be a nice touch as well, when it's not too intricately placed because then, it would mimic the way wrestling fans threw streamers at them during indie shows, the type of shows where all your boys met in the first place.

the karaoke machine arrived before you got the chance to unwrap the decor, the chime of the doorbell startling you and making you jump.

when you opened the door, a nice man greeted you, asking for confirmation if he arrived at the right venue and you were the one to rent a karaoke machine. you replied in the affirmative.

he wheeled it in, placing it by the wall you pointed at once he asked. much like the other man to be in this house today, he told you how it worked and the things you shouldn't do as it could possibly break the machine. he told you how to open it, close it, the trouble that people who rented this specific karaoke machine ran into, and how to fix it, along with a couple of other things. you smiled and shook his hand when he left and promised to take good care of it.

in order to fill up the uncomfortable silence around the room, you decided to play some music while you worked. you chose the first song you recognized upon flipping through the songbook, and quietly sang to yourself.

it was really a shame that you were all alone during this time. your theatrics while tossing the streamers with whatever song is loudly playing in the background is simply phenomenal and if the guys were aware of the things you were doing, they would have probably come along to help out and have fun with you.

when you were done with decorating a portion of the house, you realized that you had to place streamers on the chandelier too, but you had no idea how you could get the decorations to the high ceilings of the penthouse. even if you threw it with all your might, the possibility of it actually landing and staying there was quite low. you unconsciously puffed up your cheeks as you tried to think of a solution to your problem.

once again, the doorbell rang during a time you did not expect it to. you weren't expecting anyone as of right now. the get-together was still exactly three hours away. did you text them the wrong time?

a smiling matt jackson greeted you at the door, wearing another wacky, colorful - you assumed new because you haven't seen it before - button down with black skinny jeans. his soft, brown hair was in its usual sleek, neat manbun, and a pair of black sunglasses hid his chocolate brown eyes. he smiled at you warmly, going in to kiss both of your cheeks as he greeted you.

"hey, hope i didn't bother you or something. just thought i'd stop by early and help. you seemed pretty stressed," he chuckled, walking into the room when you moved out of the doorway.

"no, no! not at all! actually i was trying to figure out how i could hang these babies from the chandelier," you said as you pointed to the streams on the glass coffee table. all of a sudden though, you got an idea. "can you carry me on your shoulders so i can try to throw these at the chandelier?"

just as you expected, he agreed without even hesitating. people could say whatever they wanted to, but matt was always such a great, helpful friend to everyone in the elite. people who paid enough attention were well-aware of this fact.

with matt helping you out - along with stealing a few bites of the snacks you bought, telling matt that you were just taste-testing whenever he caught you - you were done with your tasks a lot earlier than what you initially estimated. the decorations are all placed perfectly, the karaoke is all properly set-up, the food is all placed in it's appropriate bowls. but there would still be some time before the boys came.

matt took this as an advantage and is currently on his fifth song on the karaoke, singing so loudly that you basically had to yell over the music when you said something. "matt! i'm gonna go get ready for the get-together! please don't wreak the room!" but he just playfully shushed you, continuing to shoo you out of the door as you heard him try to nail a high note behind you.

you went to one of the bedrooms in the penthouse where you put all your personal belongings, then put on your attire for the night. it was nothing too special, but is definitely a change from what you usually wore whenever you'd just hang out outside, or backstage during a dynamite or rampage taping. it was still a celebration of sorts.

much to nobody's surprise - especially not yours - matt is singing raise your glass by p!nk downstairs. you could faintly hear him when you just got done changing and you weren't really sure if your ears were deceiving you or not, but now that you're at the bottom of the stairs, there was no confusion.

"so raise your glass if you are wrong, in all the right ways, all my underdogs, we will never be, never be anything but loud, and nitty-gritty dirty little freaks!" you joined in on him, much to his delight. his whole face lit up when he turned around and saw you singing along to the song he picked. he beckoned you over, telling you to sit on the arm of the chair he was currently using. his own arm though was wrapped around your waist to stabilize you, while the other one lifted the microphone to both of your faces.

immediately after the song ended, you heard loud banging on the window next to you, surprising matt so hard that he quickly stood up, knocking you down into the floor in the process. "sorry!"

you brushed it off before looking through the windows to see what all the racket that caused you to land on the floor on your ass is about.

the view made you roll your eyes. it was the rest of the elite. you had no idea why they banged on the window instead of the door, but now they were bent over laughing at matt's reaction to them and what happened to you.

kenny was red-faced as he laughed, nick had his face in his hands, chest quaking with laughter, adam's eyes were squeezed shut at how much he was laughing, the good brothers were leaned over each other while laughing, and don himself couldn't even help but chuckle.

you stomped over the door, aggressively pulling it open and pretending to be much angrier than you actually were. you were just a tad but embarassed, but truly, you found it entertaining as well. "just come inside,"

they were still giggling to themselves when they entered, each of them kissing both of your cheeks - the elite's new handshake, the superior handshake - along with matt's once they got to the room.

you planned on asking them why they were at the window instead of the door, like what people usually did, but kenny was way ahead of you. "you guy's singing was heard from outside. amazing rendition of raise your glass, by the way-"

"-yeah but raise your belts was way better." nick interrupted him, smirking over at you. kenny didn't seem to mind the interruption in the least. opting to offer nick a high-five at that, and he uncrossed his arms to slap his friend's hand.

you rolled your eyes, muttering "whatever you say, nickie."

don went between you and the younger buck, putting his arms out as if he was trying to stop a fight from happening, "okay, both songs were good. you guys don't have to argue about it."

"yeah, of course they're both good! i sang in it!" matt cutely piped in from behind you. adam put his arm around his friend, "heck yeah, man!"

gallows shouted after that, startling all of you except his tag team partner he was talking to prior. "so are we gonna party or what??" you pumped your fist in the air along with the resounding cheers and woots of your friends.

all of you guys stood and sat around the karaoke machine throughout the whole night - you knew renting it was a good idea - only occasionally standing up to grab a drink, a snack, or go to the bathroom. you guys have sang countless songs, most times with each other, while others were solos. whenever that happened, someone from the group would be in front of the room, acting like a backup dancer of sorts, making the whole room holler and clap at them.

you were specially entertained by matt's moves. you were always pulled in by his magnetism, ever since the two of you met and conversed for the first time. he just seemed to be cool and have unique, creative ideas, although sometimes, those creative ideas weren't exactly the greatest, smartest ideas. they just made it more fun and a better story to tell.

kenny is currently belting out "a whole new world" from aladdin. he's already towards the end of the song, and he has his eyes closed, becoming one with the iconic song and just really feeling the lyrics within his soul. one of his arms were spread out, alternating from being in front of him to being on his sides as sang.

you made eye contact with matt on the other side of him, a knowing smirk growing in both of your faces. you guys knew each other so well that you didn't even need words to communicate at times.

he leaned in - much like what you were doing - towards kenny's face to kiss his cheeks like he did during the night him and nick turned on jon moxley, and like how they did to adam cole a few times before.

only this time, the man you were about to kiss did something neither you nor matt was expecting. you didn't realize how far along the song kenny was and when it ended and he took a bow, you weren't aware, like how matt wasn't and instead of kissing either of kenny's cheeks, you ended up kissing each other on the lips.

your eyes widened when it registered into your brain that you were, in fact, kissing matt jackson. you jolted away from him in surprise and confusion, but the hurt - and shocked and equally as confused, but seemed to be hurt nonetheless - look on his face made you lean forward and have your lips meet again. this time though, you both fully meant it.
