"good luck kenny, and may the best gamer win." she grinned, standing up on her tippy toes to kiss her boyfriend's cheek. she then began running upstairs to her most prized room.

finally, after so many battleroyales and street fighter games between them, now they're gonna play a video game where she actually stands a chance and dare she say, will be good at. after all, none of them have ever played before so they'll be at an even playing field, or at least that's what they told her.

darling was giddy as she plopped herself in the pink and black gaming chair and putting on the matching cat ears headset on her head. she grabbed the remote of the led lights that was all around her gaming room and switched the colors into many different hues until she settled on lighting the room a dark pink.

she then went to her computer switching it on and began loading up her discord as well as the game that they were going to play today, among us. it was something that she has been dying to play with her friends since it boomed in popularity and she discovered it and today was the faithful day. when she discovered that everyone had a few hours to spare today all at the same time, she quickly brought up the idea of playing the famous game and much to her delight, everyone agreed. no stream, no recording, no audience of any sort. just a bunch of friends ruining the trust between them built over a number of years because of a video game.

everyone meaning her, kenny, hangman, cody, brandi, nick and matt, brandon cutler, and their gamer friends xavier woods and adam cole who darling hasn't played with in a while.

she opened up the newly downloaded game and entered her name as the username, making a private room for all of her friends to play in.

two impostors, of course.

next she went back to the discord and added everyone to a server so they will be able to communicate with each other during the meetings and share the among us room code.

once she was done with that, she entered the voice chat and was greeted by the very loud and excited voices of her friends talking over each other chaotically.

"hey guys!" she greeted as she typed in the code in one of the server channels, rereading it a few times just to take sure that she didn't get it wrong and have one of her friends joining some random group and getting confused.

they all greeted her with hi's and hello's and a few how are you's before she confirmed that the room code was in the one server channel.

she scurried her little space bean avatar to the laptop to choose her color and accessory in the middle of the room as slowly more and more people entered the spaceship and began to do the same thing that she did and chose different colors for their space beans.

she chose the color yellow with the little dum post it pasted right on her goggles, laughing when she saw how ridiculously adorable she looked before running to one of her good friends adam page and running circles around his red colored bean body with the cowboy hat on his head.

"of course you chose the cowboy hat, hangman" she laughed lightly not the least bit surprised at her friend's choice as she heard his laugh fill her headphones as well.

"yeah of course darling, did you expect me to choose something else?" he questioned her as she adjusted her microphone and although they couldn't see her, she couldn't help but shake her head at him.

"no, honestly i would be very disappointed if you chose something else. maybe i would even take to twitter to get you cancelled for that betrayal" she smiled making everyone in the discord bursting out in laughter.

"oh god no!" he exclaimed before kenny added in "yeah page, that betrayal would be so much worse than my betrayal to aew" you could head the laughter in his words as he spoke.

after a few minutes of chatting and telling each other about how their christmas and new year celebration went, they have decided to start the game.

crewmate

a sad aw sighed passed darling's lips before she decided to suck it up and just be a good little crewmate. she rubbed her hands together before grabbing the mouse again and dragging her avatar all over the spaceship and doing her tasks.

it was all very calm, going to admin to do the card swipe with xavier, taking the trash out in cafeteria with matt but then the lights went off and they all scurried into electrical where unfortunately, adam cole died while they were in a stack.

darling was the first one to get a hold of the report button as they all spoke in panic unmuting in the discord.

"okay, okay, who wasn't in the stack?" darling said trying to calm everyone down.

"me and cody were in medbay doing the scans. cody is one hundred percent clear but i was in the middle of it when the meeting was called so i didn't get to finish" brandi informed the group making darling nod.

"anyone else?"

silence just filled the discord call so she assumed that everyone else was in electrical with her.

kenny cleared his throat before speaking. "not to be that guy but xavier was following me an awful lot before lights were called" he trailed off to which the man accused of course began to explain.

"no man! we just had the same tasks" the rest couldn't help but to chuckle because of the two's "rivalry"

"yeah kenny, i can vouch for him, we were at admin in the beginning and no else was around so he would've had a chance to kill me there"

the timer for the meeting was now going down from ten and they all agreed to just skip voting as none of them had any sort of idea or clue on who the impostor is.

they said their goodbyes and goodlucks before they went their separate ways. darling headed to medbay for her scan and she was there with nick jackson. the both cleared each other and after, they went their separate ways.

nick went to the right side of the spaceship and darling went further to the left where she found herself in reactor where she did two tasks, simon says and the number task.

her last task was in electrical but she wanted to take a peek in security first to see if somebody was there to vouch for her at the next meeting but instead of that, she saw kenny's black bean body standing next to brandon's purple bean body right by the cameras.

instead of reporting the crime scene in front of her though, she fled, much to kenny's relief.

she acted like nothing has happened and went by her merry way to electrical for her final task but a meeting was called and she wasn't able to do that.

"brandon in security, there was no one else there" matt voice's stated.

"um, darling, you were at the left side, right? after medbay?" nick quipped.

oh no

she thought that she was dead meat for sure until she remembered, "i was, i didn't see who it was though. besides we cleared each other there, remember?"

"it's in security? darling i passed by you near reactor which is just across from security pretty recently" page said with a scratch of his head.

darling then said fuck it and quoted one of the songs she heard on tiktok a few days ago.

"i know who it is but i'd never snitch on daddy"

she muted her microphone and started laughing hysterically, continuously slamming her hand on the desk as an eerie silence covered the discord call.

"alright now we know who to vote"

this she hadn't counted on. "wait, what? no! no!" she managed to slip out, still in the middle of hearty laughter as she clicked 'skip vote' but then the space screen was shown with a black avatar floating around

kenny was an impostor

"goshdarnit darling" kenny muttered lowly before muting.

needless to say, the crewmates won the game, much to matt and kenny's dismay grumbling about their loss while in the lobby.

brandon was fairly quiet during the call but he was still able to say a "darling you simp" making everyone, darling included, burst out in laughter.
