ⅩⅩⅩⅦ

Winter break. The perfect time to relax and enjoy life.
And I'd be lying if I said it isn't my first.
Christmas is just around the corner, except I won't be spending it at home, nor in a foreign castle. I'm celebrating Christmas in a small, cozy cabin in a very small town. And best of all? I'm with two of my closest friends. We all agreed to this getaway as our very first adventure to many more.
Everyone here is so cheerful. They remind me of home. Seeing the bright smiles on the townsfolk as they pass each other by, chuckling at the children who are running around in a game of catch. We got hit by some snowballs on our walk in the town, but we only smiled and threw another one back, making the little kids giggle and scream in joy.
This is how every town, country, and kingdom should be; peaceful and happy.
"Hey, girls! Look I found the perfect place to take more photos!" Lydia exclaimed happily as she rushed towards a big tree covered in snow. It looked beautiful. A tire swing was attached to it, so we all sat on it, taking turns in taking pictures.
We're making an adventure scrapbook. So wherever we go we always take at least one photo and print it out. I can't wait to fill it up with joyful memories. Some of the pictures include our other friends and family.
I thought story books meant a lot, but after making this, I now understand a whole new meaning to a precious book.
We spend a couple more hours exploring and walking around, enjoying the chilly weather and unique snowflakes getting caught in our hairs. We then go back to our cabin to end our day of fun.
Our cabin has one room with three twin beds, so now we're each on our own bed, talking about what we've done so far in our lives. Suddenly, the thought of a friend of ours crosses my mind.
"Hey, what do you guys think Alex will do?"
"I don't know." Lydia admits. "But I really hope he does what's right. I can't imagine being away from someone I care about deeply."
"Same here." Seema nods. "I can't imagine my life without you two at all. I haven't felt so alive until I met you."
I smile, silently agreeing to what they're saying.
"You guys are the best." I tell them before getting under my cozy blanket and closing my eyes, awaiting a new dream. "Goodnight."
I slept so well last night. It was so comfortable, like I didn't have a single worry in the world. Lydia and I woke up an hour ago, but Seema is still asleep.
God she's lazy. But you gotta love her.
Lydia and I are sitting in front of the fireplace as we talk to Chris and Aurora on the phone.
They, Calum and Ella went on holiday together too. Aurora had to avoid the winter ball our family is going to in Crounia.
Scarlet and Aya flew out to meet Asher's family, and from what Letta told me, Aya and Asher's older brother clicked instantly. She said she gives them two weeks before they get together.
This is our first Christmas away from each other and it feels weird. But I'm so glad I get to spend it in front of a fireplace in my pajamas rather than planning another ball or a charity event.
Don't get me wrong, I love doing that, but it becomes boring after doing it every single year like a routine.
"Where's Cal and Ella?" I ask, noticing their absence. Chris and Rora glance at each other and smirk.
"They're out looking for some new glasses for Ella since it broke on the plane." He explained.
Calum and Aurora broke up, she explained everything to me, and apparently, Chris explained his side to Lydia.
It's pretty exciting. Our plan is back on.
"What happened?" I asked my little sister.
"We broke up." She smiled sadly.
"What? Why? Do I kill him? Did he hurt you?" I frantically ask.
"No!" She giggled and I smiled softly, happy that I made her smile. "He said that he sees that there's something better waiting for me, and that he won't stand in between us. But he won't tell me what it is."
"How are you feeling, sis?"
"Honestly?" She thought out loud, her eyes looking down. "I don't feel that sad. He said that he wants me to be happy, and that this is the first step towards my true happiness. He also said that he never wants to stop being friends with me, which I appreciate because I really enjoy his company. And maybe he's right, maybe it's best to stay close friends."
"Well as long as you're happy I won't need to be arrested for murder." I smile at her.
"You took my joke smh..." She said. Yes she said smh. That's how she annoys me.
Lydia
Before Aurora and Calum officially broke up, Chris had called me, telling me what Calum said to him.
I am so grateful for him.
"LYDIA I NEED YOUR HELP!!!" He yelled as he burst into my flat, scaring the crap out of me.
"Jesus-" I jump. "Why did you feel like you needed to give me a heart attack?" I glare at him.
"Sorry.." He smiles sheepishly and I sigh, nodding at him to start talking. "Okay well, Calum is gonna break up with Rora."
"What why?" I cut him off.
"Shh, I haven't finished explaining yet!" He points a finger at me. "He made me realize something, and I'm not sure if it's good or not."
"Chris, what the hell are you on about? You're not making any sense!"
"I'm freaking out!!! I don't know how to make sense of this!! I'm going crazy!!!" He exclaims, throwing his arms up.
"Just calm down and start from the beginning."
"Okay, okay.." He takes a deep breath before he starts explaining. "Calum and I were hanging out when he said he needed to talk to me about something important. He told me he's going to break up with Aurora, because he sees the way I look at her. He sees how much she means to me and how I need her. I obviously knew that already, but what took me by surprise is when he said that he will not stand between us because this is the purest form of love he's ever seen. And then I started denying it, that I don't like her that way, but then I started thinking about it more and Calum started stating things that prove that I do, and well, what I'm trying to say is, I think I like Aurora." He took a deep breath once he finished his rant.
"I freaking knew it!"
"You saw it too?"
"Everyone has seen it, bro."
"How did everyone see it before I knew it myself?"
"Like Calum said, purest form of love." I grin before I started to tease him. "Aw, little chrissy is in love~" I sing, dragging out the word.
"I don't like you." He deadpans.
"It's fine. You love Aurora though!"
"I'm never hearing the end of this, am I?"
"Absolutely never."
I grin at Chris through the camera and he immediately turns red. Now it's me and Mia's turn to glance at each other with a smirk.
They won't know what hit them.
"Well then have fun you two, Mia and I have to go gift shopping." I tell them and end the call.
"You know, I don't get called Mia a lot. It's kinda cool that you and Seema use it so casually, makes me feel pretty loved in some way."
"Aww, that's sweet! And you call me Lyds, so it's only fair you get a nickname too!"
"True. Now let's go throw some water at Seema to wake her up."
