I opened my eyes to a white world...

After a few seconds I realised it was the pack infirmary.

A nurse opened the door and popped in her head "She's awake."

She closed the door and left but before the door could shut, Tilda burst in with Natalie right behind her.

"Isla are you okay?" My best friend asked looking like she was about to cry.

I sat up and crossed my legs "I'm fine. Really." I really was fine. Apart from a slight headache I felt okay.

She gave me a tight hug and Natalie did same. The door opened and the Alpha walked in. His face was stoic as usual. Why was he always so expressionless?

"Alpha" we simultaneously said and briefly bowed our heads in respect.

He held up his hand "You don't have to bow. And you can refer to me as Junior Alpha Kendall. My father is still the Alpha."

He made eye contact with me and I looked away "My apologies Isla. I didn't know you hadn't shifted yet."

My face went red with embarrassment and I turned away.

"I hope you are doing better." He asked.

"Yes Junior Alpha Kendall" I replied, still avoiding his eyes.

He nodded in response and left.

"So how was training?" I asked, wondering if they continued until the rest arrived.

"There was no training. After you passed out, Tyson brought you to the infirmary and Alpha Kendall cancelled training for the day." Natalie replied.

"For everyone?" I asked in surprise.

"Yup" she replied.

Wow. Trainings are rarely ever cancelled.

The door opened and mother sashayed in. Sashaying is like her thing.

"Oh honey," she came over and lifted my chin with her finger. "Look at your skin. It's so pale"
Yeah mother I'm doing great.

"And your hair!!" She looked so horrified like she had just seen a murder occur. I saw Natalie roll her eyes from the side. She wasn't a fan of mother's antics.

"Mother it's in a bun." I stated.

"A messy one!" She shrieked. Typical mother. Going nuts over a scattered bun.

"Yes cos the neatness of a bun is what matters when your daughter's in the hospital." Natalie said sarcastically and leaned against the wall.

Mother narrowed her eyes at her and went on to redo my hair.

The doctor came in and said we could go home. I gave Tilda and Natalie a hug each before we left.

"Sweetie come over I have amazing news!" Mother called

"Yes mother," I walked into the dining and sat on one of the chairs. She looked really excited which was was weird for her. I wonder what this is about?

"I'm so glad! What we've been waiting for, for eighteen years. Eighteen years!" She beamed with joy.

"Mother what's this about?" I asked genuinely confused.

"Alpha Kendall's coronation has been postponed till next week Saturday! The were-council said he can't take the position of Alpha without a luna." When she said this, my mouth fell open.

"What?!"

"Close your mouth dear." Mother chuckled. "And he needs a luna by Saturday otherwise his coronation would be postponed further because they said she needs to be with him for at least a week." She finished.

"But mother today's Thursday! He has only tomorrow!" This is a lot.

"Yes dear which is why there will be a party tomorrow at the pack house and all single she-wolves are to be in attendance. From which the Alpha will select a mate."

"What is this? Cinderella??" Mother chuckled to that.

"Not to worry I already had a word with my brother to put in a good word for you. You'll surely be the luna. Those other she-wolves don't stand a chance. Look at how beautiful you are with such good manners. Not to mention the beta's vouching for you." She said with confidence.

"But-"

"No buts dear! Go to bed we have an extremely busy day tomorrow. The party begins at 3pm so we have wake up early and go shopping." She explained getting up from the table.

I put my head on the table and groaned.

"To bed now." The finality in her voice made me get up from the chair and go to my room.

Tomorrow's going to be a long day.
