The Hunt

Ellie searched around the castle, searching for Snow, but what she found appalled her. She found the king's dead body with a knife in his abdomen.

On the knife was a note, it read, "Your move, Queen." She couldn't believe Snow would actually kill her own father. She could only do one thing.

She sent a request for Snow White to be brought back to her, unharmed. She would never forgive herself if she let the child go down this dark path.

So then began the hunt. The hunt for Snow White. The hunt made to bring Snow White back. That hunt.

Snow White found herself in the forest near the castle with only a thick cloak to shield her from the sun. Everything was going according to plan, she just needed one thing - a place to stay. She would have to find a cottage in the woods. She heard twigs snapping behind her and whipped her head in the direction of the noise.

There was a man, he was wearing green and held a crossbow. She hadn't counted on this.

"Fair maiden, I come not to harm you."

"I have heard those words many times before. Never once have they been true, why should I trust you?"

"I only come because someone wants to see you."

"I presume you mean that scum, Ellie, your queen."

"Aye, but she is no scum, she is my savior, my hero."

"In the eyes of a peasant perhaps, but not me," she said, slowly inching towards him.

"And why would you not view her as such?"

"You know who I am, the fairest of them all, Snow White. I grew up with your queen. She is not the saint you make her out to be." She got closer, nearly at the proper distance.

"But she has to be, she's saved us from the foul King."

"I tire of this conversation. It's unworthy of my time." So she lunged at him. Once she was practically on top of him, she put her mouth on his neck and bit down. He wouldn't stop screaming for her to stop, so she covered his mouth. Then his body fell, drained of all his blood. Her lips now stained red, ruby red.

She continued on into the forest with a new surge of energy.

She wandered around the forest for another hour or so until she found a small cottage next to a mine. Perfect, she thought. A place to stay. She entered the cottage. It was small but would do.

It was cramped with 7 beds. Then she saw 7 short men walk into the cottage.

"Who are you?" asked a happy little voice, which belonged to a happy little man wearing mostly green.

"What I think he means is, who are you and why are you in our house?!" said a gruff little voice.

"Silence, you insolent fools, I am your new goddess and you shall worship me."

"Why?" Said one of the men who wore spectacles.

"For I hold powers beyond your understanding." Upon this sentence she bestowed her powers of persuasion, they would have to listen to her, unless they were strong-willed and she was certain they weren't. "Now you, you will sleep on the floor and I will take your bed."

He didn't respond, just frantically moved his hands which she took as a yes. She told the short men to go about their normal business and not bother speaking to her unless it was to compliment her.
