It had been years since the king killed the queen.

"Daddy, what happened to mummy?"

"I've already told you, dear, she died of a horrible disease."

"Oh, because that's not what she told me."

"What, dear, she spoke to you?"

"Yes. Well, she said 'he stabbed me the very same night you were born'. But that can't be true, I've seen her before - the queen. Daddy, am I going crazy?"

"No, my dear, your friends might be pulling tricks on you."

"What friends? I am always all alone up here in the castle."

"Yes, but couldn't we bring some people here?"

"No my dear, that would be kidnapping."

"Yes daddy, what's wrong?"

"Nothing, you were acting strangely that's all."

"Oh, okay daddy."

The king knew he had to talk to the physician, this wasn't the first time Avery had become demonic. She was unable to go outside and touch the sun's light and feel the warm rays on her skin. It made no sense, he knew she was a special girl but he feared she may not even be human.

"My lord, what brings you here?"

"Nothing good Augustus, I'm afraid."

"Is it Avery? Has she gone into the sun?"

"No she hasn't, but it is about Avery. I'm worried about her. I'm afraid she's not... normal."

"Other than her sun allergy, what is there?"

"At times, she will become almost demonic, her voice becomes terrifying. I think- no- I fear she has the ability to control others."

"This is worrying, does she ever crave anything?"

"Sometimes she'll crave rare meat."

"I have a hypothesis, but it's a bit far-fetched."

"What is it? I'll take anything."

"I fear she may be a... vampire."

"What? That's ridiculous Augustus."

"I know, but it's the only thing that makes sense."

"Augustus, vampires are creatures of myth and legend!"

"Yes, but they crave blood and rare meat is very bloody. They can not enter the sunlight."

"That still does not explain her demonic voice and her control over others."

"Vampires are terrifying creatures, that could be her features showing, and it is said that they can control others."

"No, that's impossible!"

"How much do you know about the mother?"

"You've seen the queen, she's never had these symptoms."

"Henry, the real mother."

"Are you accusing me?!"

"Henry it's just science, she shares none of the queen's features and she only has your eyes and hair. The statistics have shown that is near impossible for the queen to be the mother."

"Augustus, a vampire really?"

"Yes..."

"What am I to do? My daughter the most precious thing to me," The king sobbed.

"We must keep her healthy and try to hide this part of her."

"I will try my best."
