"Girl, if it wasn't for the fact that you were marrying the Prince, I would've whisked you away to Monaco sooner myself,"

Jarim chuckled from where she was standing, in front of the full-length mirror that reflected her appearence.

Tonight was the Royal Engagement of Hwang Hyunjin and Yang Jarim, and the girl's heart was pounding away. She hadn't seen the Prince since his visit to her house, and it would be the first time seeing him after confirming the wedding. Heck, she didn't even have his number.

Her mother was in the dressing room as well, discussing something with the stylists, dressed in an elegant emerald green dress herself. Her father, as well as Jinhyuck and Jeongin, were downstairs in the ballroom where the engagement was being held, alongside their friends.

By Jarim's personal request, Sora had been invited to both the engagement as well as the wedding. Jarim's best friend was dolled up in a royal blue, belted midi dress that enhanced the girl's curves, and her make-up accentuated her cat-like features.

"Do I look okay?" Jarim asked her best friend and her mother who had turned away from the stylist to admire her daughter. "There's nothing wrong with the dress?"

"Jarim-ah, I promise you that you look stunning," Taehee reassured her daughter, taking her hands into her own. "The audience are going to be captivated,"

"If your future husband doesn't faint at the sight of you," Sora added firmly. "Then, I'm going to have to have some words with him,"

"Jarim-ah! Are you ready?"

Queen Gowoon stepped into the room, the stylists and maids bowing in respect before exiting the room, allowing the three other women to talk to the senior in peace.

The Queen herself was dressed in a sophisticated ash-coloured dress with a Sabrina neckline. The hem reached a little after her toes, an elegant train following from behind. Upon her head was a tiara, embellished with Swarovski crystals, and her arms were covered with white, lace gloves.

"Jarim-ah, you are going to knock the wind out of my son," Gowoon clapped her hands in delight as a light pink dusted Jarim's cheeks.

"You look magnificent, Your Majesty," Jarim replied, a warm smile upon her face as her future mother-in-law waved a dismissive hand.

"We're going to be family within a few weeks," She insisted. "Call me Mother,"

"Shouldn't we start heading down?" Sora asked, glancing at her watch on her wrist. "It's nearly time,"

Jarim took a deep breath as she looked at herself, one last time in front of the mirror.

"Let's go,"

...

"How long has it been since a Royal Engagement?" Changbin asked the boys surrounding him as he took a sip from his flute of champagne.

"The last one was nearly 22 years ago," Seungmin's eyes fell upon the numerous cameramen and women who were prepping their lenses, ready to take photographs of the future princess.

"When Yeji's parents got married, right?" Felix asked as the Prince nodded. "God, it's been that long?"

"I mean, there are the ones of cousins to the King and Queen," Minho took a mini blueberry mousse cake from one of the passing trays. "Three years back there was Soyeon noona's wedding?"

"But they aren't senior royals, are they?" Jisung emphasised. "This is the future King we're talking about,"

"Either way," Chan said. "Royal Engagements and weddings always draw the public in,"

"I think she's coming," Jeongin piped up as the eight boys all turned towards the staircase, where the lights had been dimmed low.

"Hyunjin, we need to go," Chan suddenly turned into 'Bodyguard Mode' alongside Changbin who waved towards the younger boys as well as Minho before taking off with the Prince and Chan.

"I can't wait to see what Jarim's wearing!" Felix grinned. "Jeongin-ie, at least tell me the colour of the dress!"

"Wait and see, hyung, wait and see,"

A slow but uplifting melody drifted through the air as the piano was played.

The first to descend the stairs was Kang Taehee, the bride's mother. She sent a nervous but happy smile towards the guest before taking the arm of her husband who had been waiting for her at the bottom of the stairs, dressed in his Royal Air Force uniform, multiple medals hanging from his chest.

The next to come down was the Queen, and a number of heads tipped towards the Senior Royal who sent a dazzling smile towards the visitors in her palace. Hwang Taeho took his wife's hand, kissing it lightly, before stepping to the side. The King was dressed in luxurious robes, medals adorning his chest and the glittering crown on top of his head.

A spotlight focused upon the doors at the top of the grand staircase, and as they opened, the lady of the night was revealed. Much to his surprise, Hyunjin's breath hitched at the sight of the girl he was set to marry, the first time seeing her since he had gone to her house to confirm the wedding.

If one had told him that the university student who had been dressed in a pair of jeans with a shirt tucked in and a cardigan draped over the top would be the girl who stood at the top of the staircase now, then he would've laughed. She was mesmerizing, and it seemed that others thought so too.

Jarim's rich, black hair had been blown into light waves, and above her head perched a sparkling tiara, the ruby that sat at the forefront being the center of attention. She was dressed in a long champagne coloured gown with off-shoulder sleeves. The dress itself was simple, but the modest slit at the back of the dress exposed Jarim's smooth, creamy skin.

It was Jarim's style.

As she carefully descended down the staircase, Jarim tried to ignore the hundreds of pairs of eyes that were watching her every move, instead she stared at her youngest brother who was besides his friends, fox-eyes crinkled at the sight of his older sister.

Hyunjin was at the foot of the stairs, waiting for her and as she approached him, he took her arm and the two bowed lightly towards their guests.

Jarim swallowed at just how handsome the blond looked. His black tuxedo fitted him perfectly and his long hair had been gelled ever so slightly, but still looked smooth and natural. The crown upon his head looked weightless as he held his chin up, the pair moving towards the King and Queen.

The ballroom fell into light chatter as some guests marvelled at the stunning bride-to-be whilst others began to eat the delicassies that had been placed on little tables around the room.

"Jarim-ah, you look wonderful," The King beamed. "And you too, son,"

"Thank you," Jarim replied as Hyunjin nodded.

"Make yourself comfortable, Jarim-ah," Gowoon patted her future daughter-in-law's arm. "Taeho and I need to talk to a few dignitaries, and Hyunjin, you need to speak with the Prime Minister. Oh and before I forget, the two of you must lead the First Dance. Off you go!"

With a light push, Hyunjin and Jarim stepped into the middle of the room, a bright melody playing as others joined.

"You - look good," Hyunjin told her, not meeting her eyes as the two spun around the dance floor, almost too aware that many were watching them.

"Thank you," She said softly. "You look quite good yourself,"

"The wedding is in two weeks," Hyunjin informed. "There won't be as many people there as there are right now, but it'll be broadcasted on the TV, so be prepared for that,"

"Mm, have you got your suit?"

"Yes, your wedding dress?"

"It's been flown in from Italy. It's coming tomorrow evening,"

...

"Jarim, I feel like I haven't seen you in ages!" Seungmin beamed at the girl who grinned as she drifted over to the boys.

The other boys greeted their friend and Sora held a thumbs up. She had been talking to Changbin, and Jarim swore that both were a little pink.

"Where's Hyunjin?" Minho asked curiously. "Isn't he supposed to be staying with you tonight?"

"He had to talk to the Prime Minister," Jarim responded. "He's somewhere here,"

"I can see Lee Yejin glaring at you," Jisung lowered his voice as the group looked at the gorgeous model who had a flute of champagne in her hand. When her and Jarim made eye contact, Yejin turned her head so sharply that Jarim wondered how she hadn't broken her neck.

"Why is she even here?" Felix huffed. "Hyunjin doesn't even like her!"

"Family friend, remember," Jeongin reminded the other blond. "And the Lees own that huge estate,"

"Nam Gayoung is there as well," Chan smirked. "By the Governor of Busan's daughter,"

"Hang on," Sora and Changbin had rejoined the conversation. "Isn't that Prime Minister Yoon's daughter? Why is she coming this way?"

"Oh no!" Chan whispered as he ran off, the group laughing as the oldest hurried to find the Prince.

"Have I mentioned that you look beautiful tonight, Jarim-ah?" Minho winked as the said girl chuckled.

"Oi, don't let Hyunjin hear that, he'll air fry you," Jisung snorted.

"Not if I air fry him first,"
