Chapter three

Chapter three

SPN Time: Right after 'I'm No Angel' (9x3) but before 'Slumber Party' (9x4)

Alex groaned and shoved the small pile of water damaged lore books she'd found away from her. Half of the books were illegible, and what was left was in another language. Sure, Gabriel could translate them, but even then, they were useless.

Sitting up, Alex said, "You know, I hate to admit it, but I think we might have to consult the Winchesters on this one."

"Seriously? What are they going to know?" Gabriel tossed the book he was reading onto the pile.

"I don't know, but we should figure out what they fucked up anyway...if we can find them, that is." Alex stood and pulled her cellphone from her jeans pocket. "How much you want to bet they don't have the same phones?" She dialed the older Winchester's number, surprised when he actually answered, "Dean?"

"Alex?"

"Yeah, it's me. How've you two been?"

"Could be better. Whaddya need?"

"It'd be easier if I just came over to you. I've got a lot of questions."

"Ah...alright." Dean was clearly hesitant.

"Is there a problem?" Alex asked.

"No, no...just... Come on over," Dean then told her his address, and the pair hung up.

"So, what's up?" Gabriel asked as Alex put her phone away.

"I'm meeting him at some address. It's like in the middle of nowhere..." Alex replied. "You're not coming, right? Still playing dead?"

"Yep." The archangel nodded, leaning back in his chair. "Too dangerous."

Alex smiled, "Right. I'll do all the work, then." She leaned over and gave the angel a kiss, then teleported herself to the location Dean gave her.

"This is a nice lil fort you've got here, Dean," Alex admired as the older Winchester led her into the bunker. The entrance led to a large balcony with a tall staircase, a large table with a digital map on it below. "How'd you find it?"

"We're legacies," Dean answered simply, glancing back at her with a small smirk.

"Alex, hey! Welcome to the Men of Letters' bunker." Sam greeted, meeting them in the main room. Neither of them looked any different from the last time she'd spoken to them.

"Hey," Alex smiled, then paused. She narrowed her eyes slightly, A...halo?

"...Something wrong?" Sam asked cautiously, his happy exterior faltering for a moment.

Alex blinked and shook her head, "No, nothing." She looked around, "The wards in this place are impressive. Maybe a bit overwhelming."

"Yeah? You alright?" Sam asked worriedly.

Alex waved him off, "Yeah, I'm fine." She looked around the bunker some more, walking farther into it.

And yet another thing seemed off to her.

"Say...you guys haven't seen my dad around, have you?" She spun to face the pair, whose expressions changed instantly.

"Uhm, about that..." Dean trailed off.

"I can already tell he's here, so just answer the why."

"Well, we were trying to close the gates of Hell." Sam began to explain. "Part of it was curing a demon."

Alex nodded, "Did it work?"

"We didn't go though with it," Dean spoke. "If we had, Sam would've died."

"And because you've got him locked up here, Hell's going to shit. Great." Alex concluded. Then she thought, "Not that Abaddon's helping the cause. Have an explanation for that too?"

"Yeah..."

Alex didn't wait for Dean's answer, "Ok, so how the hell did the angels fall?"

"An angel named Metatron. He tricked Cas, saying they were closing the gates of Heaven. Instead, all the angels got kicked out."

"Aha...Now, lastly, what lore do you have in here on angels?"

Sam answered this time, "Ah, not much... We've been looking ourselves, but feel free to look around our archives."

"Right. Thanks!" Alex smiled, then skipped off, eager to look around the ancient files.

"It's good to hear from Alex again, huh?" Dean spoke over his shoulder while pouring himself a coffee in the bunker's kitchen, assuming it was Sam who'd walked in.

"Who is she?" True, it was Sam who entered, but it wasn't Sam.

"Zeke?" Dean turned around to face his angel-possessed brother. Confused, he answered him, "She's Crowley's daughter. We met her a few years ago, don't worry, she's safe."

"She knows." Ezekiel's tone was flat and serious, just as you'd expect from an angel.

"Knows? How?"

"I am unsure. You say she is the demon's offspring, does that make her a demon as well?"

"No, she's the anti-christ. Half human, half demon." Dean answered. He frowned, "How do you know she knows?"

"The way she looked at me -Sam- when she arrived. She could instantly tell something was off."

"Well, even if Alex knows, she doesn't know your name." Dean walked past the angel and out of the kitchen. "So she's fine, right?"

"No. She must leave as well." Ezekiel decided.

Dean turned around, raising his arms and frowning, "Oh, come on, man. Alex is fine."

"You already know my conditions, Dean."

"Yeah, yeah. She leaves or you leave. Got it." Dean shook his head and continued to walk away.

Alex entered another room- this one filled with racks of boxes, as well as a rather fake looking wall towards the back. Flicking on the lights, Alex began her search once again.

"Alex? Is that you?"

"Hi." Alex answered simply, not paying much mind to the new speaker.

"That's all I get? 'Hi'? Come here."

Alex sighed dramatically. "I'm not helping you out." She walked over to the fake wall and pulled it open, revealing a large devil's trap on the ground, a table and chair -which Crowley was cuffed to- on it. "And like Hell I'm coming any closer."

"Really? After all the times I helped you? Raised you?" Crowley pouted.

"Helped me? You didn't get me from Hell. No, no you let some demon do that. Who then went and ruined my relationship and nearly got me killed. Thanks." Alex examined the room. On the wall to the left was a cabinet filled with torture weapons. She looked back to her father, "Enjoying your stay?"

"Oh, yes, it's lovely." Crowley returned the sarcasm.

"I'm glad! Well, now, if you'll excuse me," Alex began to back out of the room, pulling the doors shut as she went.

"Hey! Wait! Before you go, how's Hell?" Crowley stopped her.

"Going to Hell." Alex answered, reentering the room. "Some bitch named Abaddon's trying to run the show now. Know anything about her?"

"She's a Knight of Hell." Crowley answered. "Avoid her if you can."

"She wants to talk to me for whatever reason. I don't really plan on taking her up on that offer." Alex was about to leave again, but decided against it. "Hey... Do you happen to know anything about non-angelic beings hearing Angel Radio?"

"Why do you ask?"

"Well, if it's not obvious, I was hearing Angel Radio. I've been trying to figure out why."

Crowley thought for a moment, "No, I know nothing."

Alex frowned, "Alright. I'm gonna go then, before Dumb and Dumber find out I'm down here." She exited the room completely this time, and decided to take her lore search elsewhere.

~

"Alex, hey!" The anti-christ was stopped by Dean as he ran up to her.

"Hey, what's up?" Alex stopped walking.

"How's your search going?"

"I've got nothing so far. I might have to call it for the day." She looked the Winchester over. "Is...something wrong? You look upset."

"Ah... Look, it's complicated, but I'm afraid you're going to have to leave." Dean told her reluctantly, looking at their feet.

"It's about Sam, right?" Alex assumed. "Why is there an angel in him?"

"How'd you know?" Dean looked up at her.

"I can see angel's halos." Alex explained. She sighed and shook her head, "Whatever it is, it's not my business. You two do whatever, as long as it doesn't affect me. ...Although recent events have become an issue for me." She smiled and walked past Dean, "I can show myself out. I'll see you around, probably."

"Right. Later." Dean was surprised Alex agreed so easily. There was also a lot he and Sam still didn't know about her powers or intentions, which was slightly unnerving.
