Hoseok wasn't equipped to handle the situation he woke up to. They had gone to sleep together and he'd woken up when Katy sneaked out of the bed at night. He thought she might be going to the bathroom or to her friends and drifted off to sleep only to wake up to the knock on his door and Namjoon poking his head inside saying they needed him in the living room.
He was greeted to chaos, a crying wife and a group of friends fussing all over her. Jimin looked pained as if he was the one who got hurt as he applied pressure to Katy's bleeding hand. Taehyung on the other hand looked calm as ever as he held her and rubbed her back.
Aera was yelling in the background asking why they couldn't be careful for once. Porshiya was on the verge of tears as she sat on the floor beside Jimin, handing him the items he asked for.
Hoseok was rooted to the floor, not knowing what to do in a situation like this. He didn't know if he should laugh or cry when they told him that his wife had gotten hurt when she tried to grab a midnight snack.
The doctor came sooner and stitched her up. Her pained whimpers hurt him more than it should and he itched to gather her in his arms.
"When the fuck did you get hurt?" Aera's yell pulled his attention from Katy to her.
Namjoon looked as if someone caught him with a hand in a cookie jar. "I—"
His eyes were wide as his gaze cut to Katy who bit the inside of her cheeks and pretended not to notice.
Oh.
"Oh, God! I'm done with you both." Porshiya glared at them with her hands planted on her hip. "I'm so done."
"How the hell do you manage to get hurt whenever you're together?" Aera gritted through her teeth. "Why can't you be careful?"
"It was an accident." His wife pouted, but she didn't look a least bit sorry.
"It really was," Namjoon piped in, widening his eyes a little bit to pull that innocent look.
"And it happens only when you both are together." Porshiya waved a finger at them.
Aera shook her head. "You didn't even bother to put a Band-Aid on it."
"Ah, I forgot." He scratched his head.
Soon he too was dragged to the doctor and was being patched up.
"Don't bother." Taehyung leaned to whisper in his ears, "She's hurt but those damn tears are to escape Aera and Porshiya."
Ah.
"You'll see her in real pain tomorrow," Taehyung continued. "Now she's too distracted to pay attention to her pain. She's only thinking about how to escape this situation."
"You know her well," Hoseok replied, his gaze fixated on Namjoon who tried so hard not to smile.
Taehyung shrugged. "You will get used to it, hyung." He grinned. "You got the world's clumsiest female as your wife. The sooner you learn the sooner you can equip yourself to face situations like this."
"I can see that," he murmured. Aera's warning about child proofing his home rang again in his head. He should really take her words seriously and get it done soon.

Jungkook slept longer than usual and so sound for someone who often lost sleep when a situation like this arose. He stretched his body like a cat, letting out a pleased hum. His mind was as calm as a deep ocean. He loved this well rested feeling that came after a long sleep.
He snuggled back under the blankets pulling the fluffy pillow tighter, fully intending to go back to sleep when he suddenly remembered why he had nothing to do today.
He was wide-awake immediately, looking around the brightly lit room to see Jimin's side of the bed empty and cold. But that didn't surprise him since Jimin was an early riser.
With a sigh, he threw his legs off the bed and dragged his feet to the bathroom. He knew he wouldn't be able to go back to sleep and instead would end up overthinking. So he brushed his teeth and freshened up before going out of his room.
"Baby, I'm fine. It's just a small cut," he heard Namjoon's pleading voice, followed by Aera's stern ones.
"No. You're not going to the office today. That's final."
"Come on, baby. How am I supposed to stay alone?" He could already imagine Namjoon pouting and this was the side he'd never witnessed before. "And I'll miss you so much."
He saw them standing in the middle of the living room. Aera was dressed in business formals—her usual go to pencil skirts that accentuated her petite figure paired with a loose blouse. Namjoon was dressed in last night's sweats and a loose t-shirt.
Aera huffed. "Jeoni is staying home with you. Both of you are grounded."
"Baby but—"
"She's not me, I know." Aera smirked, tapping her foot on the floor. "You think I don't know what you're both up to. You both are trouble. But this is your punishment for sneaking out again for a midnight snack and getting hurt."
It was then Jungkook noticed the bandage wrapped around his right hand.
What happened here?
She turned to walk around the coffee table.
"What about work? There's so much going on." He tugged at her blouse.
"Just answer your emails and a few phone calls. Otherwise, stay here and look pretty." She waved a hand in the air dismissively. "I'd rather not answer questions from others asking why Mr. Kim is walking around with a bandaged hand."
Jungkook shook his head with a fond smile and turned to look at the other side, only for his eyes to widen. Katy had an even bigger bandage that was already soaked in blood.
What the hell?
She was asleep on the couch with a soft pout with her head resting on Hoseok's lap and legs thrown over Jimin's lap. Porshiya was in the kitchen with Taehyung. Jimin was on his phone. He smiled and mouthed good morning when he saw Jungkook approach them.
"What happened?" He asked, looking between Namjoon and Katy.
"The usual," Aera answered. "They tried to steal food and hurt themselves in the process."
Jungkook choked on his saliva and fought hard to not smile.
"Midnight snacks and it was an accident," Namjoon corrected.
"It's always an accident for you," Aera scoffed. She stopped midway to plant her hands on her hip and stare at him. "Remember the time you taught her how to ride a bike?"
"A cat jumped in front of us out of nowhere!" His voice was defensive and his pout more prominent. It should have looked ridiculous but Jungkook thought he looked adorable and childlike with a whiny voice.
"You both broke your legs and walked around with matching crutches for a month," Taehyung called from the kitchen.
"It was one time..." he whined. "And it was really a cool crutch."
"What about the time you both went for car driving?" Jimin asked, putting his phone away.
"The bin just got in the way," Namjoon grumbled.
Jimin rolled his eyes. "The car toppled and she was stuck upside down, giggling the entire time."
"Hey, she was the one driving!" Namjoon narrowed his eyes, arguing his case.
Jimin narrowed his eyes in response. "The instructor told us you both were bickering the entire time."
Namjoon pouted. "It was a long time ago."
"Yeah, how about the time you both were supposed to be moving boxes but ended up stumbling down the stairs?" Porshiya showed up with a breakfast tray and placed it in front of him.
"She tripped first, falling over me. I lost my balance, okay?" He looked close to crying and Jungkook couldn't contain his laughter. He clamped a hand over his mouth, containing his laughter.
"In short, we should ban you from hanging out together without supervision." Porshiya gave him a saccharine smile. She brought the breakfast tray over, handing it to Aera.
"It's not like we are allowed anyway." Namjoon shrugged. "We aren't that bad you know."
"Yep, only you both come up with creative ways to get hurt," Aera grunted. "Now, open your mouth." She began to feed him breakfast. "Taehyungie, you stay home and look after them. Don't wake Jeoni unless she wakes on her own."
"How is she?" Jungkook went to sit beside Jimin. "Her dressing needs to be changed."
"The doctor is on his way," Jimin said. "She cried to sleep since the painkillers didn't help much."
Jungkook frowned.
"It happens sometimes. I'll ask him to give her something different."
He nodded. "Why didn't you wake me?"
"You were sleeping peacefully. Besides, something like this happens all the time. This is the longest she managed to go without getting hurt." Jimin smiled.
Jungkook sighed, snuggling to his side. "Did you rest?"
"Not much." He smiled tiredly. "I'm used to it." He patted his thigh. "At least I got to sleep an hour or two, thanks to Hoseok hyung."
He saw Hoseok sleeping soundly with his head resting on the backrest of the couch, one arm securely wrapped around his sister's torso. He smiled gently.
"What are your plans today?" he asked Jimin.
"Have to handle some negotiations. Wanna join me in the office again?" Jimin asked.
Jungkook lifted a brow. "I won't be of much help."
"We can hang out during my break and maybe go out for lunch," he suggested. "I also have a private room where you can rest."
"Okay. I'll go get ready then." Jungkook stood with a smile. He didn't feel like going out but he didn't know what he would do if he stayed at home either. So he decided he'd join Jimin.
"Eat your breakfast first," Porshiya called and that drew a smile on his lips. Things were so different here.
Back home, they don't go to their breakfast table unless they were dressed to nines. If they weren't ready for the day, the breakfast was delivered to their room or on the patio. He never understood who laid that rule but he never broke it once. Here, however, there were no rules like that. Everyone ate wherever or whenever they wanted to, wearing whatever they wanted. He could get used to this.
"Sure."
With a smile, he followed Porshiya to the kitchen.

When Katy woke up Taehyung made her eat and helped her to wash up. Hoseok had to leave because of a client meeting and it was only the three of them. Namjoon was working from home—answering phones and emails much to Aera's dismay.
Jungkook left with Jimin while Porshiya went to meet one of their Asian investors.
However, when Taehyung had to leave suddenly because of an urgency that rose with the production of one of his designs, it was only Namjoon and Katy at home.
The duo snoozed around for a bit, munching on the snacks Porshiya left for them and watching some series that was long due. But they got bored soon.
Katy kept changing the channels with a scowl. "Why is there nothing good to watch?" she grumbled. After a few more minutes she grew frustrated and asked, "Wanna soak your feet?"
Namjoon saw no harm and it was relaxing so he agreed immediately. They both got to work, hurrying to one of the bathrooms with wide bowls and climbed over the bathtub sitting on the edge. Katy added a few scented candles to create a relaxing atmosphere while Namjoon clicked on his calming Playlist.
They added hot water, sea salt and a few drops of lavender oil for their footbath.
Namjoon hummed along with the music and when Katy joined, they began to sing off key purposefully, laughing aloud as Katy belted out gibberish for the Korean song she didn't know the lyrics for.
Perhaps they should have stopped at the karaoke session after the footbath. Namjoon shouldn't have suggested they finish grocery shopping while they waited for the others.
Because if they had just stayed home in their bubble none of this would have happened.

Katy looked up from the list on her phone. "Next is Gochujang. It says red box with Gochujang written on it."
She pinched the back of Namjoon's t-shirt between her index and thumb finger as she trailed after him. Her sweater paws covered the injury in her hand.
"Red box..." Namjoon drawled. "This is the sauce section. It should be somewhere here."
Katy scanned the shelves finding the red ones as Namjoon scanned the next one.
She let go of his t-shirt briefly. "What about that one?" She stood on her tiptoes reaching for the box. "What does it say?"
"Ah, this is the one." He grabbed the box from her with a grin. "How many boxes do we need?"
"Two."
He grabbed two boxes and placed them in the cart. Katy went back to grab his t-shirt so she wouldn't lose him.
"Samyang hot chicken flavored sauce," she said. "It'll be either a red or black bottle." She squinted at the detailed note Porshiya left for her. "Look for a bottle that's the size of a ketchup bottle."
They moved to the next shelf where they spotted the bottles.
"How many?" Namjoon spotted the bottles immediately.
"One."
Porshiya was well organized in the kitchen department. She put food charts for a month in advance, jotting down the names of dishes to cook on each day and listed the ingredients accordingly. They went grocery shopping twice a month. They always put their names in a chit and drew it out based on tasks that they shared.
Katy and Namjoon mostly ended up in the cleaning or laundry team because the others didn't want them doing anything else. This time, however, they ended up in the grocery shopping team instead of Aera and Jimin who couldn't make time because of their tightly packed schedules.
It wasn't that hard. Really. They often went shopping back in California. Only the food names weren't this complicated for Katy.
"Next is guk ganjang." Then she frowned when she saw the next one in the list. "There's also ganjang. Both are same or different?"
She eyed Namjoon who shrugged. "Ask Porshiya."
She huffed, let go of Namjoon, and dialed Porshiya. Namjoon handed her a bottle saying it was ganjang. She grabbed it from him trying to read the letters.
"She isn't answering." She looked up when there was no response from him.
Katy blinked and looked around.
"Joonie?" She called as she twirled in her spot wondering where he went. "Oppa?
Where did he go?
She eyed the bottle in her hand. Maybe he went to check with the store staff or looked for it in the next aisle. She shrugged as she began to look for guk ganjang.
There should only be two extra letters and she should be able to find it. So she began to look for it, not realizing how much time had passed. When she couldn't find it, she turned to look for Namjoon again.
Where is he?
She called him on her phone, only to get a busy tone back. Katy frowned.
Where did he go?
She put the sauce back on the shelf and left the cart to go and check it for herself.
"Joonie..." She kept her voice low so as not to disturb other customers. She called him again and sighed. She hated when this happened.
"Joonie, where did you go?"
She began to look down each aisle and relaxed when she saw a tall figure on the phone. But he wore a different jacket and her excitement fizzled immediately.
With a pout, she continued to check the other aisles. The store was bigger than she thought with several sections and soon she was lost among the throng of people.
