Chapter 17

Jin didn't know what came over Jungkook that evening. He hadn't seen the maknae of their group that happier in a long time. He knew he was hanging out at the studio with Jimin, but the call that followed along with the super excited squeals that hadn't stopped in a while said a different story.

"She let me take over the entire shoot. Can you believe that?"

"Yeah. You told me that six times already."

"No, you don't understand, hyung. Photographers don't do that. I mean...she gave me her camera."

"You said that one like seven times."

Jungkook wasn't even listening as he continued with his squeals. Jin didn't remember when he had seen Jungkook this excited. When he got his first camera? Or was it during his graduation? Nah, he wasn't this excited about his graduation. It was the camera, he decided. And a few times when his professors gave praises on his photography skills. He wasn't this excited when he landed that internship with Jae Hwang, one of the best photographers in the industry.

"She's so cool. I like her."

"Four times."

Though Jin said the words in a bored tone, he couldn't help the twitch of his lips. Jungkook was happy. He hadn't seen the youngest this way in a long time.

"She's perfect for Hobi hyung. Oh, I can't wait for them to meet. You know we are going for an outdoor shoot in Gyeongbokgung Palace?"

"Seven times."

"Right." Jungkook cleared his throat. "So, she's also signing me up as one of the photographers of Vinora."

"You're what?"

"Hyung, I get to do what I love." Jungkook squealed again. "I can be a photographer. They're sending me a contract tomorrow. I thought she was joking, but she was damn serious. And Porshiya noona said I'm now part of their team."

"That's...wow, Jungkookie. This is big."

"I know. I never thought I'll do anything related to photography. I mean, my future was cut-out for me and I knew I had to take over the business. But this is something I never expected."

"But Jungkook-ah, are you sure about this? Uncle Jeon won't be happy about this."

"He doesn't have to know. I already spoke to Porshiya noona. She said I don't have to compromise with my working hours and can work in my free time. I can do this, hyung."

Jin nodded. "As long as you're happy...that's all matters to me."

"Oh, hyung... Don't tell Hobi hyung yet. I mean... He can know but let him meet with noona first."

"Yeah, sure."

"I have to go," Jungkook suddenly said. "I'm in my car in our parking garage for the past thirty minutes. Let me go in before someone comes looking for me." He heard the youngest chuckle.

"Sure, Jungkookie. Talk to you soon."

"Good night, hyung."

"Good night, bunny."

He disconnected the call and turned to his girlfriend who was patiently lounging on his living room couch, waiting for him to finish with the call. They decided to have a movie night after their lovely dinner an hour ago. He walked to her, climbing under the fluffy blanket and pecking at her lips. Porshiya snuggled to his chest, starting the movie she had chosen.

"Your cousin?" she asked getting comfortable around him.

"Yeah," he smiled fondly. "He's such a kid."

"Looks like you guys are close."

"We are," he nodded. "That brat is five years younger than me. You can say I had a huge role in bringing him up as a responsible adult." Pride coated his voice. He was so proud of the man his little Jungkook had become.

"He sounds so sweet. When are you gonna introduce us?" Porshiya lifted her head, brushing their noses.

"Soon," he smiled diverting the topic. "You look so beautiful." Jungkook started hanging out with them because of Hoseok. He didn't want them to know he was working behind them to get Hobi and Katy together.

"You always say that."

"That's the truth and saying that isn't enough. It's barely two weeks and I already want to shout from the top of hills that I'm taken."

Porshiya laughed, a cute bubbly sound that warmed his chest. How did he get so lucky? The woman was so passionate, fiercely loyal, and everything he admired in a woman.

"I don't mind..." She climbed on his lap, wrapping her hands around his neck. "Just give me a heads up before you do so."

"I'll try." He cupped the back of her neck bringing her closer. "I've been waiting to kiss you all day."

"You kissed me just an hour ago."

"That's not enough."

"You're insatiable."

"Only for you."

She smiled into the kiss, sinking into his embrace as he relished her warm lips on him. He couldn't wait to introduce her to his family. His parents would absolutely adore her.

Shit.

He was in too deep.

"I don't even know why I'm allowing you to bunk with me," Aera grunted like she did every other night.

"That's because we're married and your friends are so kind," Namjoon answered, never once backing down from their ridiculous arguments.

She was still salty because of all the time he neglected her. But she'd be lying if she didn't enjoy his attention. However, he will have to work for her forgiveness because men always took things for granted and she wanted him to realize her worth.

"Thanks for coming with me for dinner tonight," he said, rolling to his side to face her. The book he chose to read for the night cradled in his chest.

She peeked from the pages of her book. "You're welcome." She hid her face, so he couldn't see the small smile forming on her lips. Namjoon was always easy to get along with, they shared common interests and loved to read at the bed. It was one of the couple things they did, reading and talking books all night. She missed these nights when he was away. Long-distance relationship was hard, but he made it even harder with his stupidity.

Aera appreciated the efforts he was making and she appreciated the space he gave her. He was pursuing her but he also allowed them to take it slow, never pushing or demanding.

"So, what are you doing this weekend?" he asked. "We can go somewhere you like."

"I'm not sure." She nibbled at her lip. "I might visit the studio. It feels like I haven't seen the others for a year."

"Oh." An understanding smile crossed his face. "That's cool. Can I come with you?"

"Ah, I don't think that's a good idea."

"Oh." His smile fell and she realized he misunderstood.

"It's not like that. You can come but...ah, um...You know, Jungkook might come over."

"Katy's brother?"

"Mhm..." Aera nodded. "He doesn't know her real identity yet. And...um, we already know how close he's with Hoseok. You also know this Jeon and Min thing going on for a while. People know you, Joonie. I don't want you to come over because it's risky. Jungkook might realize who you are and that might affect the entire thing."

"Hey, it's totally cool." He patted her hand. "I understand. We can hang out at night, maybe? Binge watch that TV series you were talking about."

A smile tugged at her lips. "I'd love that."

Namjoon nodded. Her heart clenched pleasantly. This was why she fell in love with him in the first place. A man who never judged her love for her friends. He always understood. Words can never explain the love of their little group of five shared between them. It was just that they needed each other like they needed air. They cannot bear to be apart and it was the sole reason they were very cautious when it came to relationships.

Fortunately, it worked out for her and her brother. Now she could only hope, Katy, Jimin, and Porshiya's partners would understand the depth of their relationship. Because...their need to be with each other can be demanding at times.

A knock sounded on the door before she even finished the thought. Her smile widened knowing exactly who that was.

Namjoon groaned, "It must be the devil again." He threw the blanket off him and climbed out of the bed before grabbing his pillow and securing the blanket along with his book in the other arm. "I'll go to the guest room." He walked around the bed, bending to kiss her forehead, mumbling goodnight.

Aera watched him go to the door with a soft smile. Katy must be missing her. The youngest had a habit of crashing in her bed at least once a week because that was as long as she could go without their nightly cuddles.

Sure enough, when Namjoon opened the door Katy stood wrapped in a fluffy blanket with a pout. "Took you long enough, Joonie Oppa."

"Sorry, sweetie. Had to kiss my wife good night." He laughed, giving her a sideways hug and kissing her forehead before disappearing into the hall.

"Good night, Oppa." Katy called over her shoulder and sauntered into the room. Aera put the book aside, opening her arms wide and the youngest climbed over her lying on top of her with a sigh. "I missed you, babe."

"I missed you too, bubble."

Katy had left the door open because...well, it was only a matter of time before Jimin and Tae crawled inside the room for their weekly puppy pile session.

"I heard you hired Jungkookie."

"I did." Katy's voice was muffled a little.

"Porshiya won't stop gushing about how cute and sweet he is. I want to meet him too. I hate it I'm stuck in the office while you guys are enjoying."

"We are working."

"Same," Aera grunted.

"You can come tomorrow."

Aera hummed. "I'll try." She wrapped her hands around Katy, both staying silent for a moment. "Bubble, I want a little brother. Can we keep Jungkookie?"

Katy sighed. "I wish, babe." She lifted her head, her eyes sparkling as she slid to the side, throwing a leg over Aera. "You'll love him. He's so squishy and his smile...oh, he's so adorable. You have no idea how hard it is not to squish him when he smiles. Ugh."

"Do something then..." Aera whined. "Let's keep him."

"I'm trying."

"Not enough. Try harder."

"I will, grumpy."

"So, panda told me everything. Do you really think Jungkookie loves Minnie?"

"I know he does," Katy replied. "Come over tomorrow. One look at his eyes and you'll see for yourself."

"Then do something, Bubble. It's what you do the best. Bring them together."

"Panda told me not to interfere and let things work on their own though."

Aera turned to her, narrowing her eyes. "When did you start listening to someone?"

"Hey, I listen to you guys all the time."

"Do you?" Aera smirked. "Really?"

"I do listen."

"So, tell me, my little devil, how are you planning to not intervene by exactly doing that?"

Katy gave her a coy smile. "You always read my mind. I do plan something."

"Tell me everything before the party poopers get here. Panda is staying over at Jin's so it's just Minnie and Tae. But you know how they are."

Katy giggled as she scooted closer. "You see, playing cupid is really easy. You just have to remove the roadblocks and the lovers will find each other. Like the others exaggerate you don't have to actually intervene to get the job done."

"I know." Aera chuckled.

"So, I'm the roadblock here. Minnie won't make a move until Kookie accepts me for who I am. I'm exactly gonna do that."

Aera stared at her for a long moment. "You'll reveal who you are to him then." It was something Katy said she would never do. That was until Jimin came into the equation and Aera knew her sister would do anything for her friends.

"It's Minnie..." Katy sighed, resting her head on Aera's shoulder. "I haven't seen him look at any other guys the way he looks at Jungkookie."

"Minnie always had a thing for Jungkookie though he claims otherwise." They laughed together at the memory. Jimin always thought Jungkook was cute.

"It's a risk. Things could go south. I might ruin things but we will never know unless we try, right?" Katy asked hopefully.

"You're right. That's my girl. Always optimistic. I love your positivity, Bubble. It's your greatest strength and you had never messed up anything. I know this will turn out better."

Katy rolled her eyes. "I fucked up in Vegas."

"Did you really though? I know you don't regret anything. And I know if given a chance you'd do the same."

"I would," she admitted sheepishly. "I can't help the way I feel when I think about him."

"You found love and you went after it. The way you handled it then was fucked up, but I don't think you messed up. There's still time."

"I hope so."

Before Aera could say something, the party poopers aka Jimin and Tae entered the room with half-sleepy eyes and disheveled hair. No words were exchanged as they climbed on the bed, settling under the covers.

Aera mouthed 'we will talk later' as Tae threw a leg over them, snuggling closer before they drifted off.

Work was hellish last week and this week. I'm barely surviving. Sorry to leave you hanging guys. Happy reading!
