Chapter 15

Porshiya slanted a harsh glance at Katy once Jin left. "Hmm... Not a bad choice, Jeoni. I'm impressed." She plopped on the couch Jin just vacated and crossed her legs. "But I'm disappointed."

As much as they adored and loved each other, they never shied away from pointing each other's mistakes. She was and still is pissed at Katy for how she handled her relationship.

Katy sighed, her shoulders slumping. "I feel like a douche bag."

"You should be." Porshiya shook her head. For someone with such a high intellectual Katy can really be clueless sometimes. She can't blame her friend though. Because she knew another person with IQ 148, who fucked up everything he did when it came to his relationship. She thought it was a side effect of being so brilliant. Clumsiness and momentary foolishness were their specialty traits, so much so that she had banned both goofballs from entering her kitchen after they set it on fire twice while trying to cook a fucking ramen.

"I'm not even feeling sorry for you. You brought this upon yourself," Taehyung pointed out.

"TaeTae, we talked about it. Once he knows who I am he won't feel the same," Katy argued.

"Do you really wanna go back there? Cos' bitch trust me when I say this, if you don't pull those big girl panties up and talk to him during Seoul Fashion Week, I'm gonna stuff you in the booty of my car and throwing you at his doorstep in the morning. Capiche?"

"Why do you have to be so mean?" Katy pouted.

"Because I can." Porshiya shrugged, inspecting her groomed nails with great interest. "And you still deserve a good ass whooping for ditching a man after great sex."

"I just went for a walk."

"And look how that turned out. You better make it right." She waved a finger at her.

"Jeoni..." Jimin placed a hand on her lower back, rubbing smooth circles. "Just talk to him, okay? What do you get to lose anyway?"

Katy's lower lip trembled. "Everything?"

"Yeah? But what are you gaining by pushing the inevitable, hmm? The more days you wait, the more you will lose your chance to be with him. Just do it and regret it later."

"Fine." She sighed. "You're right. I made a mistake and I'll own it." She nodded with determination. "I'll make this right."

"Good." Porshiya's lips curled with a pleasing girl. "That's my girl."

"Posh, do you think Jin hyung already knew?" Jimin asked, looking between them. "I have a hunch that he does. It's just his...ah, something about the way he stressed those last few words."

"Of course, he does. My Seokjinnie senses started tingling the moment he said Hobi. He thinks he's clever, but I'm cleverer," she smirked.

"Anyways, we're drawing more attention than necessary," Jimin informed. "Media is growing nosier as this is the first time in seventeen years the entire Min family is in Korea and the news about the Royal gala is also spreading. They want to know everything and anything about the royal heirs." His lips thinned out. "Our security will be tight in the coming days."

"Ah, I miss California. People don't give a fuck unless we're hanging out with a celebrity," Taehyung grumbled. "And I can't be even going anywhere near Yoongi hyung while I'm here."

"I really find this situation funny." Porshiya chuckled. "All three Min kids are married, wears a wedding ring with a fucking neon sign, yet no one gives a fuck in America. I can say K-media is confused as heck."

"Because that combined with our friendship bands, people mainly assumed it was a quintuple thing," Katy huffed. "I wonder what happens when they find out.

Porshiya chuckled. "I'm not blaming them. We're really good at confusing them."

They all got matching friendship bands during high school. It occupied their left-hand index finger. When Taehyung got married, the others got similar bands to match his wedding ring, so it didn't spark unwanted rumors. His relationship with Yoongi was highly confidential.

Porshiya's phone dinged, reminding her of the next schedule. "I gotta run. Aera is struggling without Jeoni. I agreed to help Aera on a few things."

"Where are we eating tonight?" Katy asked.

"We got another three hours of work before we can call it a day," Jimin said. "We'll order a take out here." He turned to Porshiya. "Don't wait for us. Order something at the office."

"Cool. I'll see you all tonight then."

Porshiya hopped off the couch and headed to the door.

"It's only been a week and I'm already going crazy," Aera ranted over the phone. "I swear Jeoni, I'll kill someone if before you join me again. There's just so much to do."

"Ah, just wait. Let me grab some popcorn."

"Bitch, I'm literally pulling my hair out here."

Katy laughed at the opposite end, making Aera huff in annoyance. "Ah...I was waiting for this call since Wednesday just so I can tell you 'I told you so.' Now I feel content."

"You're heartless."

"Don't blame me, sweets. This is why I don't take external projects. You were pestering me for an entire night to take this, saying how Jin is going to be family and I need to do this for Panda."

"Fine. I take it back. Just stop everything and come back. I'm literally dying."

Katy hummed. "Hey, I gotta go. I'll call back during break time and you can rant more, yeah?"

"I miss you, Bubble," Aera whined.

"I miss you too, babe. Talk to you soon."

"Yeah, bye."

Aera sighed, rubbing her temples. Work was finally getting to her and more than work it was boredom that killed her. With Katy, work was always fun with both of them always chatting and goofing around. Just as she turned to her computer screen, the door to her office opened with a single knock and she froze in her seat.

What the fuck?

Devil works hard Katy worked harder.

It went without saying. Aera should have at least guessed what was coming when she decided to play along to entertain the evil youngest. She should have guessed what Katy would do next.

Aera knew she was in too deep of the devil's grasp when Namjoon flashed her signature dimple smile, carrying another bouquet. Six, red fucking roses. Someone entered after him carrying a cherry blossom bonsai that was in full bloom, placing it on the side of her huge mahogany table.

"It's spring, so I thought cherry blossom is more fitting," he said walking into the room.

"What are you doing here?" Her brows knitted as she glared at him. "Shouldn't you be in Canada now?"

She gingerly accepted the roses, placing it delicately on the table and grabbed her phone.

"Yoongi hyung got it covered. Besides, I'm wanted here."

"Here?"

"Mhm...I was told the position of your founding partner is temporarily vacant." He pulled a cover from inside of his suit jacket. "I'm here as a temporary replacement of Katy Min." He straightened, claiming in a professional voice while Aera stared dumbfounded at him.

Did that snitch just snitch her in the worst way possible?

Aera [09:01:06 AM]:

MIN KATY FUCKING JEONG-SEON!!!

Jeoni [09:01:07 AM]: 👀

Posh [09:01:09 AM]: uh oh

TaeTae [09:01:30 AM]: @Jeoni What did you do this time?

Jeoni [09:01:55 AM]:

Me?

Literally nothing 😳

Jimin [09:02:10 AM]:

That doesn't sound like nothing

Aera [09:02:40 AM]:

Why does my husband say he's your temporary replacement?

Jeoni [09:03:00 AM]:

Because he is?

TaeTae [09:03:20 AM]:

*Whistles*

That's so far your best Jeoni

Posh [09:03:45 AM]:

Devil strikes again

Panda like it

Aera [09:04:05 AM]:

It's not funny!

I warn you

You take that back and come to the office right now

I can't deal with him for another minute

Jeoni [09:05:10 AM]:

Suddenly I can't read

Posh [09:05:11 AM]:

Is that Spanish?

TaeTae [9:06:12 AM]:

Looks like French to me

Jimin [9:06:13 AM]:

Maybe my phone is glitching

I can't see anything

Aera [9:06:45 AM]:

I hate you all!

Nobody loves me anymore

Aera huffed throwing the phone on the table as the traitors left her on read. Namjoon was smiling that devilishly handsome smile that made her stomach drop every time and she knew there was no way out of this anymore.

She was just playing hard to get. Was it too much to ask? Why would Jeoni betray her like this? Aera wanted to cry out loud. His determined smile caused her heart to flutter.

"I'll be using Jeoni's laptop," Namjoon said placing the device on her desk. "She said everything I need is in here."

Aera took a deep break, feeling internally relieved to have some help, but still a bit pouty because Jeoni did this behind her back. "Fine. You can work without bothering me. Get on with the emails first."

She turned to her computer before she picked those damn roses and sniffed. It was going to be a long day, more like three long months. But she'd be lying if she said it didn't feel like their teen years when they began dating.

Her phone dinged.

Posh [9:15:03 AM]:

Bish we all know you low key wanted this

So suck it up

TaeTae [9:16:16 AM]:

You weren't complaining when she plays cupids with others

You can't start now

Rules r rules

Suck it up, sweetheart

Jeoni [9:16:25 AM]:

The Brother-in-Law has spoken 💅🏻

Suck it up, Hamster

Jimin [9:16:45 AM]:

Sorry, boo

You're on your own here

Aera [9:16:55 AM]:

Whatever

Aera sighed. Her friend was right. She hated they could read her like an open book.

You wanted this. Suck it up and deal with it.

With a huff, she got back to work.

Jungkook didn't know work out could be so much fun. The past few days had been the best. True to his words, Jimin came to the gym every day. Taehyung kept complaining while Katy preferred to snooze around with her phone while the others worked out.

The youngest was living one of his fantasies. Jimin continued to grow gorgeous in his eyes somehow. He didn't understand if that was even possible, but every day the older looked more beautiful than the previous day.

They didn't talk much, they didn't have to. Somehow, seeing Jimin every day was enough. He snuck secret glances at Jimin whenever possible and he wasn't very subtle about it, but he hadn't made a move either. Not that he planned to do so. Just seeing him every day was enough.

He didn't have experience with dating stuff. He dating a few girls in high school, shared a few kisses and that was as far as his sexual experiences went.

Moreover, now that he knew who Katy was, he really didn't want to ruin things by involving his emotions. So, he decided to never act on his crush.

Jungkook soon fell into a comfortable routine. Katy was talkative for the most part while she wasn't sleeping that was. The youngest couldn't help but get excited when he talked to her now that he knew who she was.

He could understand why Hoseok fell for this woman. She was witty and full of life. She laughed a lot and joked around. They had grown closer to hold decent conversations in a week. He loved photography and when he found her Instagram page, he had gone fanboying over how talented she was.

"I majored in photography," he said feeling giddy as he finally had someone to talk about his passion. "I was a double major at Seoul University."

"That's really cool. Can I see your works?"

"Ah, I don't have it now. But I can show you some other time," he replied, his nose scrunching as he offered her another smile.

"I'd love to see your work, Jungkookie."

She was so easy to talk with and he couldn't wait to get her together with his Hobi hyung again.

When he stepped into the gym that Monday morning, he noticed her absence immediately. It was only Jimin and Taehyung. He greeted them with a smile and started his routine.

"Where's Noona?" he asked after a while.

Jimin turned to him with a smile. "We had a movie night and she slept late."

"She hates Mondays," Taehyung supplied.

Jungkook nodded in understanding.

"You can visit her at work," Jimin offered. "We have rehearsals for the show in the afternoon. We will be there till nine at least. You can come over after work. If you want that is."

"I'd love to, but I don't wanna impose. I know you're working."

"Ah, that's not a problem." Jimin smiled brightly. "Give me your number. I'll text you the location later."

That was how he got Jimin's number. And boy was he happy? Jungkook was over the moon, screaming his excitement at Jin and Hobi hyung. Though he knew it meant nothing, though he knew it wouldn't go any farther from there, he couldn't help the way he felt when he was around Jimin.

The silver-haired man made him feel things he never experienced before. He was genuinely happy. Jin hyung had said that he should just let things happen. And that was what he was doing.

At least that was what he told himself. The relationship between Jimin and him will never work out. He cannot be with any man that way as a Jeon. So no matter what he'd have to bury all these feelings when the time came. Until then he'd just enjoy this phase while it lasted and create memories that he could cherish for the rest of his life.

Having Jimin as his friend was worth it.
