"Wake up Ravenkit." Rosekit whispered in a soft voice. Her paws shook him.

"Do you need something?" He croaked.

"Get up sleepyhead!" She nudged him.

Ravenkit pushed himself up slowly. His eyes were barely open, and the only cats awake were the ones assigned dawn patrol.

"Why so early?" He asked confused.

"I can't find Lightkit! He was in his nest just a second ago." She wailed. Ravenkit immediately looked back. The kit was gone without a trace. He sniffed the air trying to find a scent trail. There was none. Ravenkit bounded up to the sleeping form of Goldenfur.

"Wake up!" He meowed desperately. The queen stirred before sitting up.

"What is it dear?" She yawned.

"Lightkit's missing!" He cried. Rosekit was behind him wailing. Goldenfur got up quickly and inspected the nursery quickly. Her eyes were widened in shock. Her agile body went over the other sleeping cats.

"Lightkit? Lightkit!" She called. "Stay here kits."

Ravenkit watched her exit the nursery. What happened to Lightkit?

"I'm following Goldenfur." He meowed as he followed the queen. Rosekit followed him.

"Berrystar I can't find Lightkit!" He heard her wail.

"Did you search everywhere?" He asked calmly.

"I checked everywhere!"

Ravenkit took a step back.

"He's missing." He meowed. Different emotions were swirling in his small head.

"He's gone!" Rosekit cried. The pair sat down together jumping to conclusions.

"Attack!" A yowl that pierced Ravenkit's ears was heard. A group of unknown cats surrounded the 2 kits. 2 rogues grasped on the kits scruffs.

"Let go of me!" Ravenkit yowled. He thrashed around unsheathing his claws.

"Settle down." The rogue chuckled.

Warriors scrambled or of the den rushing for the large number of rogues.

"Help help!" Rosekit cried loudly. As the rogues began to retreat Ravenkit thrashed his claws around hoping to hurt his kidnapper. He could hear warriors battle.

It happened all so suddenly. It felt like he was in a different dimension. It was dark and smelled of death.

"Hello? Where am I?" He called out into the shadows.

"Do you want the power to save yourself from the rogues?" A voice asked.

"Yes!" Ravenkit yowled. That was when everything went black.

When he woke up he was back in the nursery. Rosekit was also in her nest. It was like nothing happened. He got up. What had happened to the rogues? As he walked out the nursery he noticed there were many cats lined up at the medicine cat den. He wasn't dreaming then. The rogues attacked and they were defeated. He needed to know what happened after he was captured. How did he get back to camp?

"Ravenkit! Are you okay?" Harekit rushed over to him.

"Yeah, but did you get Lightkit?" He asked.

"Lightkit is still missing. I hope he gets back soon though. Today is our apprentice ceremony I wonder what will happen if he isn't here." The kit's voiced dropped.

Ravenkit looked down and realized he was shaking badly. Lightkit was a big part of his life since they accepted him. He felt something wet on his cheek. He was. Crying?

"Have they even found a trace of him?" He asked.

"Can we move onto a different subject?" Harekit asked shakily.

"I guess." Ravenkit replied. The black kit prayed silently that Lightkit would appear. "I'm going to check on Goldenfur."

"Wait! She got put on a search patrol." Harekit called.

"Then I'll check on Rosekit." Ravenkit leaped up to the nursery.

"Ravenkit is that you?" Rosekit croaked.

"It's me." He responded. "Do you know what happened out there?"

"You saved my life! You were so awesome out there." Rosekit bursted out.

"What are you talking about?" Ravenkit asked confused.

"All cats old enough to catch a sparrow gather beneath Tall Stump for a clan meeting!" A voice yowled.

"That's our queue!" Harekit hissed as he leaped to the nursery.

The trio gathered with the clan. Sadly, Goldenfur wasn't watching. Ravenkit hoped Lilystripe was watching though.

"Ravenkit, Riftkit, Rosekit, and Harekit have reached the age of 6 moons, the age of apprenticeship. From this moment on they will be known as Ravenpaw, Riftpaw, Rosepaw, and Harepaw." Berrystar paused. "Ravenpaw, your mentor will be Nettlewing."

Ravenpaw's eyes widened as he saw Nettlewing approach him. She was a fluffy, thick pelted cat.

"I will make you the best warrior in the clan." She whispered to him.

"Riftpaw, your mentor will be Dovesky. Rosepaw, your mentor will be Rainclaw, and Harepaw your mentor will be Fernbreeze."

"Ravenpaw! Riftpaw! Rosepaw! Harepaw!" The clan cheered.

All the apprentices gathered with there mentors. They didn't get the mentors they had hoped for, but they would still train.

"Hello Ravenpaw. I'm Nettlewing, and today we will be exploring the territory with Rosepaw, and Rainclaw." Nettlewing purred. She was a thrilling mentor.

"Okay!" Ravenpaw meowed back. He followed his mentor through the loop of trees and brambles. He looked at Rosepaw her mentor was a experienced, large, strong cat. He couldn't help, but feel jealousy.

"This is our first stop. Do you smell the reek?" Nettlewing asked.

"It smells like pollen." Rosepaw scrunched her nose up.

"This is Forestclan. It has a similar terrain to our territory, but with less trees." Rainclaw meowed.

"Watch your step going over here!" Nettlewing warned as she led them through a slippery area. It led to a marshy area that stank of frog dung. "This is Marshclan the one that reeks the most."

Ravenpaw's nose revolted quickly. How could Marshclan stand it? He was happy to live in the exiting territory of Mapleclan.

"I wonder what they eat." Rosepaw giggled to him.

"They probably eat mouse dung." He joked back.

"This is the last clan, Dustclan. They live on the moor, and smell of sheep." Rainclaw meowed. "Now lets head back before the fresh kill pile is gone. The elders usually eat a lot."

"What will we be doing tomorrow?" Ravenpaw asked Nettlewing.

"Maybe we'll go practice hunting." She meowed, getting Ravenpaw's heart up. "Or if we're unlucky then we'll clean ticks off the elders."

"Anything would make me happy." Ravenpaw meowed beige giving a smile.

"Okay. Lets hurry and get back to camp." She replied.
