May's POV (Elena)

"I want to talk to Chase Rodriguez," I politely stated.

The receptionist eyed me from toe to head. I arched an eyebrow at her and she did the same. What a disrespectful employee, tsk. I would be firing her right here and right now if she was under my supervision. She isn't even doing her job right. This is not how a receptionist should act.

"Tell him, it's May Gonzales," I impatiently ordered.

She just stared at me with disbelief, is she stupid? "Are you going to just stand there? Hurry up. You have been making me wait for an hour."

I can't believe stupid people like you actually work in Rodriguez Empire. They are definitely a bad judge of character.

"Do you have any scheduled appointment to meet sir Chase.. Miss?" she suspiciously asked.

"As I said, tell him it's May. That's all you need to do. You are just an employee here, now just be good and do your work," naiinip kong saad.

She suddenly grabbed my wrist tightly, "Alam mo 'yong nakakainis? 'Yong babaeng katulad mo na nag-mamaganda na hindi naman makita sa mukha ang proweba. Isa ka lang naman sa mga naghahabol kay Sir Chase 'di ba? Kung sakaling' di ka informed sasabihin ko na sa'yo ngayon na, na hindi ka papatulan ni sir Chase kaya umalis ka nalang bago ko tawagin ang guard at mapahiya ka pa."

What's with this bitch? Suddenly assaulting me. Hindi lang pala 'yong Rodriguez na iyon ang psychotic even his employees are psychotic! Crazy people.

"Eh kung gawin mo nalang kaya nag inuutos ko sa'yo at bitawan mo ako. Baka ikaw ang pa ang mapahiya," I bravely answered.

"Tanya, anong ginagawa mo?" napalingon kami sa nagsasalita.

"Let go of my hand," I demanded and she hurriedly did.

"I suppose you are searching for Chase? I ask for your forgiveness for our employee's rudeness, there has been a lot of girls who would randomly appear here and Tanya here wasn't informed of your arrival, Ms. Gonzales. I'm very sorry for being late," a man in a casual shirt stated slightly bowing his head.

Why does he know who I am? I arched my brows at him, "And you are?"

"Hunter Natividad, Chase's best friend," he introduced himself.

"So, I suppose he is aware that I am here since you came to fetch me. So can you please bring me to where that jerk is, Mr. Natividad?" I sarcastically smiled.

"Ah, no. I just coincidentally saw Tanya picking a fight on you, please don't bear a grudge against her. She's my step sister and she's kinda obsessed with Chase that she even chose to work here," Hunter whispered pulling me away.

"I am not interested in those silly love chains that jerk is into. I just have something important to discuss with him," naiinis kong sambit.

We started walking, him leading the way. Rodriguez Empire is indeed large.

"I know, took you long enough. That guy has been cranky and in a foul mood, thank goodness you finally appeared."

We stopped walking in front of a big screen door. May inabot siya sa aking calling card

"It was nice meeting you May," he smiled at me showing his charming dimples.

My brows knitted as I stared at him, "Aren't you being overly familiar calling me with my first name Mr. Natividad?"

"Nah, you're just too stiff May. Call me Hunter, you can visit me anytime. See you soon," he waved goodbye and turned his back from me.

Wow, another annoying human. What was the deal with that? That guy is obviously a playboy, I can see how they became great buddies. I entered the room and saw a beautiful girl with long thick curly eyelashes, a small cute pointed nose, naturally pinkish cheeks, and long curly brown hair typing on a laptop.

"Oh, please have a seat. Mr. Rodriguez is currently in a board meeting right now. Ms. Gonzales," she smiled at me. "Do you want a coffee or a tea?"

Umupo ako sa isang malaking couch and made myself comfortable, "Anything is fine."

She's indeed a beauty. I watched her as she gracefully makes tea. That dirty Cassanova, I know he intentionally chose this kind of secretary. So this is his taste.

"Mr. Rodriguez may take an hour or two. Is it alright to wait that long Ms. Gonzales? Their meeting seems rather important," she informed.

"I don't mind," I simply answered her and she got back to her work after serving me tea.

What is that jerk planning? Even his secretary knows who I am. I started reading newspapers na nakapatong sa taas ng lamesa to pass time. Sa sabado na ang 45th anniversary ng Perez Estate Company and this jerk is planning to announce his official position as the Rodriguez Empire CEO this Saturday too. Just what the hell is this guy planning to do? And Tito Gab can't win against this guy just like how he can't do anything when Chase ditches our supposed to be wedding that was— ugh. It wasn't me. It's Elena what am I thinking. Ugh, me? Supposed to be the wife of that jerk? That would be a nightmare!

"Ms. Gonzales, Sir Chase is in his office. He said you can come," the secretary announced bringing me back to reality.

Hinatid ako ng secretary niya sa office niya and motioned good bye when she left.

"Chase Rodriguez I—"

I looked around but there was no one in his office. I thought he was here. I walked closer to his desk and there I found a note. Kinuha ko ito and read it

'Had an urgent meeting at one of my branches. You can follow me there ;) I miss you'

It hasn't even been an hour since he said he was here! Ugh, that jerk and his games. I hastily took the address he left, he made me wait for almost 5 hours and his ditching me? Just you wait, Rodriguez! Kung hindi dahil sa kompanya I wouldn't be meeting you!

Chase's POV

"What the fuck Chase?! How long do you intend to play this childish game of yours?" inis na sigaw ni May

I can't help but laugh watching her on my monitor. I can clearly see in her face how annoyed she is.

"What are you talking about?"

"Don't you go acting innocent now you king of a jerk! This is the 5th time, you hiding from me!"

I really miss this voice and her unwavering cheekiness. Now, May. Amuse me more.

"Who said anything about hiding? Masama na bang magpakipot ngayon babe?" I teased her

I saw how her frows met. I chuckled at seeing her frustrated expression

"I told you didn't I? You WILL chase me whether you like it or not and here you are now" I chuckled

"This is playing dirty."

"Well, I don't intend to play fair against you. You above all knows there's no such thing such as fair play"

There was a moment of silence in the line. Magsasalita na sana ako ngayon when May suddenly spoke

"Chase Rodriguez, meet me this instant" she firmly ordered with a voice full of authority

Shit. Only one person can give off this kind of aura. This level of authority, why am I remembering that damn Elena?! Tsk.
