Chapter 1: The Great City
Hello readers.
So as you notice by the title, or not, this is gonna be a Zootopia story with elements from Spec Ops: The line. To those that don't know what the latter is, i advise you to check the story out or play the game so you could know. But im gonna say that it is a third person military shooter with a story that has some twists in it.
This is not a crossover story, okay? It's only a story about Zootopia and its characters with a narration inspired by the game. Speaking of characters, OCs will be added here too.
With all that aside, enjoy the chapter

Zootopia.
The city where Mammals come together in peace. People from all over the world came to this very city to pursue their own wildest dreams to be true. And I was one of them.
I remember when i went to that city, i was awestruck by the infrastructure and the technology. I saw of how the city was able to fit in different climates for each district to the Mammals that adapted to it. Sahara Square, Rainforest district, Tundratown. I don't even know how they managed to do it.
But that was enough of sight-seeing as i was there to pursue my career, as a cop.
Zootopia is a great city and all, but of course it needs law enforcements to keep the city in order and free from any criminals and possible anarchists. That's what i was there for.
There are loads of Precincts in the city, though i was sent to Precinct one, the headquarters for the ZPD. I had signed up to join them and they had accepted me as an officer of their own. I was in a pretty good rank in my time at the academy, and my skills were good to use in my operations.
In my time at the ZPD, i had good relations with my co-workers, I'm even friends with some of them. Delgato, Grizzoli, Mchorn, and Fangmeyer. I was partnered up with Fang, and boy that tiger sure is something. I might even say we were more than co-workers, and that is being the best of bros.
Throughout the months, the day was usual to me. Doing ZPD work and stopping bad guys and all. Then, something unique happened for the ZPD. Apparently, the academy had recruited a bunny, a literal small and harmless bunny, for the police force.
Judy Hopps was her name.
Me and Fang could not believe it, neither did the rest of our co-workers. We all doubt that the Judy girl won't even manage to solve cases fit for larger mammals like me. But apparently, we've been underestimating her.
The Nighthowler case was one of the most important case for the ZPD to solve. We first thought it was just a missing mammal case where 14 mammals went missing. Though it turns out it was more than that. Apparently, the missing predators had all went savage, and it was told that the Predators are going back to their natural instincts.
That really took a toll on my career as an officer, but also for the ZPD and the city aswell. I thought for sure that my life was over. However, that Bunny cop - Judy, she had uncovered the true mysteries of this case. Along with her companion, a sly fox named Nick Wilde.
It turns out that the assistant mayor, Bellwether, was the mastermind of the missing mammals and the cause of them going Savage, so she could ruin the reputation of predators. We put that bastard to Jail along with her Henchmen after.
The case was solved. All thanks to that Judy girl. Weren't for her and her fox companion, the city would've been in shambles. Most importantly for me, my Officer career was back. She had helped me, and i thanked her for it.
I've been growing attached to the bunny, and we've became close friends. Every time i see her in action, i was amazed by her skills. Such a small mammal could do big things and accomplish it.
I'm beginning to think that she was the best cop that i ever served with. And i still kept that word in me.
After a while, i was starting to think that maybe the ZPD isn't enough for me. And that's the part where i think that i should join the military. My skills were already good enough for the ZPD, so why not increase more for the big guns? Though this means that i have to leave Zootopia and all my colleagues behind to pursue my military career.
Surprisingly, they supported me. Though this means that i'm basically fired in the ZPD and i won't be able to see Judy and the rest. Yet, they were okay with it.
Judy said it was my own choice to become something i want. Her words really glued in to me. And so i said goodbye to them as i leave Zootopia and made my way to Raguna where i will begin my career as a soldier.
Months had passed after that. I completed basic training and i rose through the ranks of the military. They had acknowledge my skills and even put me to special forces. I'm now an operative for Delta force. Never thought i would get even this far. The guys back in Zootopia would be proud. Judy would be proud.
I've missed them too long that when I'm free, i'll have the time to go to Zootopia and visit my friends, and my hero - Judy. Unfortunately, i didn't get to do it.
And that is because the city had suffered a catastrophic event.
Something had happened in the Sahara square. There was something going on with the climate machine for the said district. It was going nuts. The engineers tried to fix it, but they were too late. The machine erupted as a giant sandstorm starts to spread from the district to the rest of the city, like a plague. Not even the cold biome of Tundratown couldn't stop the incoming sandstorm.
Not sooner or later, all of Zootopia had been covered by the sand. I was left shocked of the event. Quickly, I tried to contact the guys, but there was no signal. I tried to contact Judy after, but she didn't respond.
Then we tried to contact the city, but turns out that the communications were blocked by a sudden sandstorm wall surrounding the city.
This was the most shocking event happened to all of mammal kind.
Five months passed after the incident. We tried to keep in touch of the city, but there was still no communications.
I was very worried of the safety of my friends back in the ZPD. With Communications still blocked, the world had accepted that all residents in Zootopia were all but dead. But i prayed that there will be Survivors.
Then two weeks later, we heard a distress signal, from Judy Hopps herself!
"Hello? If anyone can hear me... this is officer Judy hopps of the ZPD. Chief Bogo is not here anymore...so i took over as the new Chief. An attempted evacuation...out of Zootopia has ended in a complete...failure. Death toll...too many..."
I was shocked of hearing her voice. It sounded Raspy and sorrowful. It makes me to wonder what the hell happened in the city? But all i know is that there are survivors in the city, and Judy Hopps seems to be alive and well.
We can't just stay here and do nothing. We need to help them and evacuate the survivors.
My name is Martin Wolford, and my team and I are gonna find out what happened to the ZPD.

Somewhere inside the sandstorm wall, three mammals were walking amongst the storm. Though it appears that they're struggling, they can manage to fight it and kept pressing forward. Besides, these were Delta force, the best of the best from the Ragunan military. Some sandstorm won't stop them for completing the mission.
The squad of three was led by Captain Martin Wolford. A timber wolf that was assigned as the leader of the squad. Reason is that Wolford was once an officer of the ZPD for Zootopia, before he left to Raguna and before sandstorm incident had happened. So he would have the knowledge to know the Zootopian environment.
The two Delta soldiers that accompanied him are Lieutenant Oscuro Adel - a Black Jaguar, and Staff Sergeant Jane Lince - an Iberian Lynx. Though both are not native to Zootopia, they are Wolford's trusted comrades during his time in the military. So they stuck with him in this mission.
"Hey Cap! Captain Wolford!" Lince called out to Wolford.
"What is it, Lince?" Wolford asked.
"Got a situation, sir." Lince said.
"Mission critical?" He questioned.
"No, sir!"
"Then take it up the chain, Sergeant." Wolford said with a smile knowing what's it gonna be.
"Roger that! Lt. Adel?" Lince turned to the other Delta soldier.
"I hear ya, Sergeant. What's your status?" Adel asked.
"Status is chafed, sir."
"You say chafed, Sergeant?" Adel raised his eyebrow a bit.
Lince then grinned. "Yes, sir! A rodent insurgency has infiltrated the Ragunan Zone designated as my pants, sir!"
Adel let out a chuckle. "Shut up, Jackass." Wolford chuckled aswell. He always knew Jane's sense of Humor of all the times he trained with her.
After that short moment, the trio made it out of the sandstorm as clear skies begin to take over. Wolford removed his mask and breathe in the clear air. His team did the same as they removed their mask and goggles. They all wore their signature desert ACU in the military with an exception of Lince wearing a hat.
They then check on their weapons to see if they're working just fine after traveling through the sandstorm wall.
Oscuro Adel was armed with a M249 Machinegun and an M1014 shotgun as his secondary. He acts as the heavy gunner for the squad, and he is also a demolition expert. Adel is very loyal to Wolford, given the times both of them conduct various operations together.
Jane Lince was armed with a TAR-21 and a Steyr Scout sniper rifle. The latter weapon designates her to be the Squad's marksman. Like what happened moments ago, she's sometimes a jokester and a rebel, but she still follows her orders and gets the job done no matter what.
As for Martin Wolford, he was carrying an M4A1 - a signature rifle of the Ragunan military. And his secondary is nothing more than a Beretta M9.
The trio were now looking over their destination - the great city of Zootopia..
Wolford couldn't believe this is what Zootopia had become - nothing more than a desert wasteland because of the incident. He remember the locations and the landmarks when he arrived to the city. Now they are all covered by sand. Though the skyscrapers by the Savannah central were still standing, given of how tall they were.
Seeing the state of the city right now almost made him emotional, but he quickly regain his composure as they are on a mission.
"Gentle-mammals, welcome to Zootopia." Wolford announced to the squad.
"Looks pretty dead, Cap. Doesn't feel like 'The great city' like they once said." Lince commented.
"It used to be one." Adel joined in. "But thanks to the incident, this is what we have now."
"Our first visit to Zootopia could've been better than this." She said with a chuckle.
Wolford then turned to her and asked. "You got a lock on that transmission?"
"Yes, sir. Think it's about 1000 yards away." She said.
"Then we're 1000 yards away from seein' who's more full of shit - you or intel." Wolford said with a smirk as he walked forward.
"Good one, Wolford." Adel laughed, following the wolf.
"Wow...If i wasn't a good jokester and a hardened killing machine, that mighta hurt." Lince said, acknowledging that roast before she catch up to the squad as they all head towards to the city and find the transmission.

Okay, guys. I'm gonna leave it there for this chapter. I'm gonna do the fanfic based on the narration of the game, but also try my best to change some parts that would fit for the Zootopian narrative and stuff.
For now, the fanfic would be a sort of experiment. However, if the fanfic gets some attention, i'll update the second chapter.
Leave a vote and comment. I'll see you next time.
