Link Cosplay - I Know, Probably Not the Most Inportant Thing In This Chapter
Maya
As tired as the day's events left me, I could not - for the life of me - fall asleep.
Sighing, I straightened up in bed, ignoring my protesting muscles. I didn't want to leave the bed, but I figured since I wasn't going to sleep anytime soon, I might as well take a bath. I haven't had one in too long. Or at least, it felt like that.
After my bath, I cleaned my clothes as best as I could in the bathtub. Don't mind me, not knowing how to clean my clothes in a new world. Or at all.
I managed to dry my clothes at least until they were only slightly damp. Let's just say, the bathroom was soaked until I found some towels. I climbed into the bed and snuggled under the blanket. It felt so nice to be clean again.
Okay, at this point your probably wondering where this bathtub and bed is coming from.
After I caught the idiot prankster, me and Laxus brought him to the guy that sent out the request. He gave us the reward money. Laxus tried giving all of it to me since I did all the work, but I refused. In the end, I did take all of it because of how broke I am, no matter what world I'm in. At least I could pay for my own room. I thought the guy was pretty generous with the reward money, but official guilds couldn't catch the ghost, so he was getting desperate hiring someone who could do it. In the morning, I plan on buying myself some more clothes. I would love to do that now, but naturally, since its so late, no store was open.
Anyways, despite wanting to sleep, I wanted answers more. I felt safe underneath the blanket, and I doubt I would be bugged anytime soon.
I held out my right hand. Once again, the magic circle appeared in front of my hand and on the floor. Now that I wasn't in a battle, I quickly inspected the magic circle. Taking up most of of the circle, the same moon/diamond as my necklace stood out. At the four sides of the diamond, strange dagger shaped objects were surrounded by triangles.
In the middle, the form of Kisuke Urahara appeared.
What? I'm not sure if this magic thing could make people from anywhere else appear. Plus, on such short notice, I couldn't think of anyone smarter. Don't judge.
"You must be full of questions," he stated, tilting his hat forward as he sat at the edge of the bed. He didn't sit on his coat, and I could feel him watching me through the corner of his eye, but he was trying to hide it. I nodded silently, waiting for him to continue. "Unfortunately, we only know as much as you do."
My shoulders sagged in disappointment. I brought my knees up, hugging them as I rested my head on it. I figured as much. "We?" I asked.
"Me, Ichigo, and anyone else you can create with your magic."
"Does that mean that who I create doesn't have to be just from Bleach?"
"You can create anyone you can imagine."
I tilted my head to the side, confused. "I thought you said you only knew what I knew."
Kisuke smirked. "Oh, don't worry, we do. This information you already know, its just locked away in the back of your mind."
I instinctively reached behind me, lightly touching my head as if that would change anything. "What else is locked back there?"
Shaking his head, Kisuke answered, "Its not really my place to tell. Its for you to discover yourself."
"You asshole. Can I command you to tell me?"
"You could try, but since you're basing me off of Kisuke Urahara from Bleach, it won't work. You have plenty of control over us, but it all depends on the personality too. Its not the easiest thing to get me to do small things like that. The only thing you can truly count on us for is to protect you."
"Is that more knowledge that I know, but can't remember?"
He only flashed me a cheeky grin. "You should probably stop using your magic and try to get some sleep. You'll be heading to Magnolia tomorrow, and I'm sure you'll want to be well rested before asking for help to find your friend."
Yawning, I nodded, and stopped using my magic, causing Kisuke to disappear. I wasn't happy with the answers I got, but I was going to have to suck it up. I lied down, pulling the blanket closer to me. I didn't really want to sleep, I wanted to practice my magic, but my exhaustion had other ideas. In no time, my mind completely shut down, forcing me to sleep. At least it was a peaceful night.
~ ~ ~
It was too early to wake up. Actually, anytime I'm supposed to wake up is too early.
"Come on Maya." Laxus was knocking on the door, trying to force me up. "Let's get your shopping done so we can head to Magnolia.
I yawned, sitting up in bed. "I'm up, I'm up," I finally said, rubbing the tiredness out of my eyes.
The annoying knocking ceased. "I'll wait for you outside." I listened to his footsteps fade away.
It took me everything I had not to lie back down and go back to sleep. My muscles were still sore, but it was getting better. I wonder if I can summon Orihime and get her to heal me? I'll try later. I grabbed my lacrima, phone and reward money, and left the room, ignoring the feeling that I left something behind. This always happens, so I've learned to live with it. It's not like I came here with anything, anyways.
I followed Laxus through Clover Town until we found a clothes shop. We looked around - Laxus with zero interest whatsoever - until I found something I liked. I had to agree with him though. I hate shopping.
I found a two piece purple shirt and skirt. Holding the shirt up against my chest, it stopped just above my belly button, while the skirt stopped just above my knees. The shirt had short sleeves - better than a tank top - and the right side seemed to have a feathery wing imprinted in the fabric, which was pretty cool. The skirt was a tad flow-y, the slightest breeze would make it move a little more for comfort, so I picked up a simple pair of blue shorts. Nobody should be seeing it anyways.
I also found a green tunic that looked like an exact replica of Link from the Legend of Zelda series. It came with the brown boots, the white pants and even the green hat! Giggling silently - wondering how it even got here - I thought to myself, I am sooo getting that!
To top of my look, I bought a black jacket, where the bottom, tips of the sleeves, and the hood had white fluffy fur, and a black bag to match. Perfect. I don't have to carry my stuff everywhere.
When we went to the counter to buy my clothes, I felt like a little kid buying something in a store for the first time, except I was tons more awkward and I didn't have to ask Laxus for money. The total price was 300 jewels, and I was grateful, considering my reward was 15,000. Hey, I said he was generous, didn't I? And, I like my things cheap. Except the jacket, that had special rights.
Before we left the store, I slipped into a change room and changed into the shirt and skirt. It fit comfortably, though my stomach stuck out, but Laxus said it was supposed to be that way. Besides, I still like it. Satisfied, I slipped on the jacket and was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't hot wearing it. In fact, the temperature inside was almost cold. Was it magic? Will it change temperature depending on the surroundings? Awesome.
I stuffed my stuff in my bag, putting my lacrima, money and phone in the small side pockets. It should be safe in there. I slung my bag across my back and stepped out, saying, "How do I look?"
Laxus nodded. "You look fine. Are you ready to go now?"
"Yep!" I chirped and followed him out the store and to the train station.
Throughout the train ride to Magnolia, I could barely suppress my excitement. I was about to find some people that could help me find Lyra! We'll be reunited in no time. Plus, I accidentally found the perfect Link cosplay, which she'll be so jealous of. She'll want to head to Clover Town as soon as possible.
I have new clothes, a bag for my stuff, some money, magic, and I'm heading my way to people who can help me. What's not to be excited about?
~ ~ ~
As the train pulled to a stop, I almost jumped out of my seat in joy.
Laxus chuckled. "Calm down a little, won't you?"
I laughed sheepishly, apologizing. We stepped out of the train, and I followed Laxus, until he stopped at the end of the station. I stayed a step behind him as he pointed straight ahead in the distance. Up ahead, I saw what looked like the top of a castle, and I noticed a familiar looking symbol, though I can't remember where I saw it before.
"You see that castle? That's the guild hall, Fairy Tail. They're the group that I said could help you."
I tensed as soon as I heard the name, my face going pale. My excitement was replaced with... something. Fear? Dread? Confusion? I couldn't tell.
Fairy Tail...? As in, the anime Fairy Tail? One of the many animes I haven't seen yet, but Lyra has? If that's true... Then she'll be there. She has to be. If this is really Fairy Tail, a fictional - well, I guess real - world, then of course Lyra would be there. Assuming she knows where we even are, or she didn't somehow end up in another world.
Woah, slow down there Maya. One step at a time.
Laxus turned around, patting my head without looking at me. "This is where I leave you. I'm not welcomed there any more."
He began walking away. I listened to his footsteps before turning around and exclaiming, "Thanks for your help, Laxus!"
He didn't bother turning around, he just held up and hand for goodbye. "Good luck Maya. With friends in Fairy Tail, you'll find your friend in no time."
