43| Who are you?
All too soon, the wolf had been tempted to find the girl again. And right now there was no one to hold him back, so that was what he did. Nervously he stood waiting for someone to open the door for him he had just called. The boy tapped slightly impatiently with his foot on the second upper step he was standing on. Could she not just open now? As if she had heard his thoughts, the boy heard a click from the lock and the door opened. The blonde-haired girl who appeared on the other side of the door, opened her eyes a little startled, and then looked questioningly at the stranger boy.
"Can I help you?" she asked, her tone slightly confused as to why this boy with these strange purple contact lenses was standing in front of her family's house.
"Iris?" he himself said confused at her expression.
His eyebrows wrinkled slightly.
The next thing that came out of the girl's mouth made the boy want to fall backward from all the blood that was drained out of his face: "Who are you?"
Jimin had no idea what to do with this situation. Could she not ... remember who he was?
"Don't you remember who I am? Jimin? Doesn't that ring a bell?"
The girl looked at him for a long time, her face expressionless, "No."
It hit him hard and precisely, her words. Too accurate. And he felt that his legs would break under him at any moment.
"Sorry, but I think you've got the wrong one," Iris said, hastily closing the door.
In that second, Jimin knew that the hunter had definitely done something to the girl. He clenched his teeth tightly together, turned on his heels, and set off running. This is something the hunter would regret.

A rush of adrenaline went through his whole body, and he could already feel the cold sweat, which almost rolled down his back. Shit! Jimin jumped back and headed for the door. But the dark-haired hunter did not give up. He must not run away, not this time!
Jungkook even ran towards the fleeing boy, his legs extra fast. Jimin threw himself forward and grabbed the doorknob, his heart pounding against his ribs. A hand came from behind and grabbed him by the arm before he even got the chance to open the door. The dark-haired hunter made the wolf trip and swung him around in a half arc so that he fell to the floor with a bump. Jimin hit the floor with his back first, and Jungkook grabbed both of his arms and held them over his head as he sat cross-legged above the captured wolf. He couldn't do anything now, Jungkook thought.
"Arh let go of me, Jungkook!" the irritated wolf exclaimed with a growl, his eyes filled with an angry purple color and his body fighting against the hunter's strong grip on him.
"Not this time! You will not be allowed to get away from me again!" the hunter replied again, his gaze permeating the purple eyes.
Jimin stopped fighting against glowing angrily at Jungkook, "What do you want with me?!" he snapped, his teeth faintly visible.
"Oh come on, you fucking just disappeared from me?! What do you reckon I might not even demand an explanation?" the hunter snapped back with.
Jimin groaned annoyed and rolled his eyes, "Seriously, you couldn't care less, hunter."
Jungkook tsked and pressed the wolf's arms further down to the floor.
"Do you know him, hyung?" asked Beomgyu, who had come over to them with Taehyun.
Both Jimin and Jungkook turned their heads at the sound of the question.
Jungkook nodded slowly, "Yeah, I know him, and now I just want an explanation to everything."
The wolf growled, "And I just want to know how to get Iris back to normal!"
The words hung invisibly in the air, no one said anything, only the piercing glances that lay between the hunter and the wolf.
"Okay, okay, what if we help you get Iris back to normal and you give Jungkook an explanation?" Beomgyu asked quietly and gently.
Jimin seemed to consider the offer before answering, "No."
Now it was Jungkook who let out an annoyed sound, "Come on!"
"No."
Jungkook looked hard at him, but with a whiff of a pleading expression, his tongue was pressed against the inside of his cheek; a sign of this just really annoyed him.
"Jimin."
"Okay fine, I'm giving you that fucking explanation, but then you will have to help me too!"
Immediately, the dark-haired hunter let go of him and got up.
"But then again, it's going to take a long time to explain it all."
_____
The orange-golden-haired boy had probably explained half of this incredibly long story, and it turned out that Jungkook and Jimin had been best friends before he was bitten. The boy had explained how he had come to annoy a group of boys, who then turned out to be a pack of werewolves, and then had fled from them.
He crashed down the street, which depended on his life. But it actually did. His life right now depended on whether he made the slightest little wrong choice. The sky was clear and the big full moon shone brightly. The cut could be seen in all the closed shop windows. The street was completely empty of people besides the hunting group. He looked over his shoulder but in fright saw that they had almost caught up with him.
"Hey, come back!"
Of course, he did not have a chance to run from them, and when they finally got hold of him, they bit him, everywhere.
A hard violent grip took hold of him and pulled him up to stand. He closed his eyes in fright and a row lay like a blanket around him. With wide-open eyes, he looked back at the brightly colored eyes that had surrounded him. Bare teeth were to be seen everywhere. A hard blow, pushed him into the wall and it gave an uncomfortable crack in his back. He twisted his face and tried to stand on his wobbly legs. A growl caught his attention and he slowly raised his gaze. Something reminiscent of half a wolf and half a human now stood face to face with him. And the creature was angry. He swallowed with his dry throat and just stared up at it. Where is he never there when I need him?! A painful sensation stuck in his one shoulder and he collapsed, screaming in pain.
The pack had left him in the alley, with something that could be explained as bleeding to death. Jimin had really thought it was his last day he would live, but then something absolutely awful amazing happened. The boy could not believe his own eyes when he saw it happen. Slowly, his wounds began to heal, and Jimin was quite sure it was just visions he saw. This was certainly not what the pack of werewolves had expected would happen. Though all his deep wounds had hurt extremely, yet Jimin had never felt any more violent pain, as he did when the wounds healed. He knew at once that this was not something normal that was happening to him.
The blood that both floated on the ground but also covered his completely flared clothes must have attracted many night creatures, and one of them was the person sitting in front of him when he finally opened his eyes again. It turned out to be a vampire who offered to help him. Jimin had no idea about this newly opened world, so of course, he had chosen to just trust a complete stranger. He had had to put his old life behind him for the new here, which meant he would never see his family again. Never see Jungkook again. It had been a big decision he had made, but the best for their side. He did not want them to get involved in this dark side of the world.
Jimin never got to know what the vampire was called, and when he thought that Jimin knew enough about the underworlders that he would be able to fend for himself, he found this dilapidated house for him and left him. Jimin was actually fine with it and thought that he could easily do it himself. Ah ah, that was the first mistake he made. As soon as the vampire had left him to himself, some werewolf packs started figuring out who he actually was. They were not comfortable with such a strong wolf walking around by himself, so when the boy was offered to join a pack, he could do nothing but say yes. He had no knowledge of the real intentions the herd actually had with him, and when he woke up one night when someone from the herd broke into his room in the leash house and made the first attempts to kill him, he fled. Naively enough, Jimin had never just had the idea that they would kill him, even though many from the pack had given him glances that could almost be read perfectly with the intention that they would just kill him.
Jimin was offered to join other packs, but after the first episode, he said no to everyone. He did not trust anyone anymore. But that did not mean that he didn't sneak in for couple of meetings that some of the packs in the city held with each other. He was always fully covered so no one would suspect who he really was. And it was there that he saw Jungkook for the first time in two years. He had not believed his own eyes when he caught sight of Jungkook, fully clothed in a hunter's garment, and swinging with his sword as it repeatedly went through wolf after wolf. He killed them. Jimin would have fought back, but he simply could not. So he fled. And unfortunately for him, Jungkook ran after him.
"Then I met Iris .." the wolf stopped himself and glanced hard at Soobin.
"And now it's your fault she can't remember me!!"
Jungkook was speechless. He had no idea what he was going to do or answer.
"Well, and why did you become a hunter? Huh, Jeon Jungkook."
Jimin was fucking angry and his eyes kept going from his normal brown color to the purple glowing one.
The dark-haired hunter sat for a short time, pondering a short answer to the question, "A vampire found me when I was on my way to you. Then I was rescued by a hunter," he hurried to add, "By the name of Hoseok."
"Then I found out that a werewolf had killed my parents, and then I had nowhere else to go."
"Hmm .." Jimin started, his eyes calmer now, "You hate Hoseok right?"
Jungkook looked up at him, who was sitting on the chair slanting in front of him, "What do you mean?"
His words were clearly sarcastic, and Jimin did not want to ask any more questions about it.
"So how do I get Iris to remember me again?" the wolf asked instead.
They became quiet and Jimin moaned annoyed, "You did not forget that, did you? Geez, can it be done at all?!"
Surprisingly, it was the youngest hunter who sighed and opened his mouth to reply, "Yeah, it may be possible, but it's dangerous to do, plus, it's not because I have that much knowledge of it."
The wolf looked over at the blonde boy who had gotten up from his chair and had walked towards his room. The vampire had an internal discussion with himself about whether he should follow suit or not, but in the end, he just chose to stay seated. Jimin looked at him, staring closer, with faintly narrowed eyes that could hardly be seen.
"Are you two together?" the question sounded loud in the empty air and the vampire got a slight surprise over the question.
Taehyun turned and looked for the person who should have been asked the question. But when it dawned on him that everyone was looking at him, he was looking up at Jimin.
"M-me?"
The wolf nodded, "Yes."
"Uhm, yes I am..?"
Jimin started smiling over the blushing boy, on the opposite side of the table, "Sweet," he mumbled.
The reaction that came from Jimin was both shocking but still also expectant for Jungkook. Yes, it was strange that an underground and a hunter were together, and even saw two boys, but on the other hand, Jimin was not a person who was tight on such points.
"Okay, this would do it," said Beomgyu, who had returned, placing a clear bottle in the middle of the table.
The liquid that was splashing around inside the bottle could not be seen, it looked like the bottle was completely empty.
"If you give her this, then she should probably be able to remember you again. Just make sure to be the first person she looks in the eye after she's drunk it."
The wolf nodded and grabbed the bottle, but Beomgyu still held on, and it made Jimin look up at him, "Beware of it, it can be incredibly dangerous to do, okay?"
He nodded and the blonde boy released the bottle. Quickly, the wolf hid the bottle in one of the inside pockets he had in his hoodie and got up from the chair.
"Jimin!" Jungkook suddenly shouted at the older boy, raising himself and following him.
The boy turned around and Jungkook stopped abruptly, looking with his round deer eyes at Jimin. Then he took the last steps to the smaller boy and wrapped his arms around him in a big bone-crushing hug. Fuck, he had missed Jimin. The youngest could feel how the wolf slowly became softer throughout his expression and even put his arms around Jungkook. The hunter closed his eyes and felt the emotions slowly bubble over. He could not possibly hold them back now. He had thought he would never see Jimin again?!
So as a tear rolled from the corner of his closed eyes, he knew he had already lost the fight, and even more, drops were dripping from his face. Some landed on the floor, others on Jimin's back. The dark-haired boy began to sniffle, and Jimin squeezed him even further into himself.
"Aww Kookie .." he whispered into his ear.
But the words only made the boy burst into even more tears. Jimin sucked air in between his teeth, to keep himself from crying. Nor had he ever thought he would meet his best friend again. But he had to move on, he had to make Iris remember again, no matter how much he wanted to stay here and talk to Jungkook.
Slowly, Jimin let go of the hunter again, shaking his hair a little, causing a small smile to rise on Jungkook's face. And then he stepped back, turned on his heels, and left the house.
