3| The ink mark

A violent pain cut into Alicia's arm. She lost her air and her eyes rolled around in the eye sockets. She was fully awake now and hurried out to the bathroom. Gently, she pulled the bandage down from her injured arm. A stinging sensation hung in the wound and she cringed her face because of the pain. Dried blood caked around the wound she herself had made. Yes, she had lied about her wounds. She was bitten by a wolf, but she made a cover-up so they wouldn't find out. She had cut off the top of the bite mark and thereafter hoped it could no longer be seen. They had believed it, and she was wildly grateful for that. But now was there only the last and probably also worst problem. Had she been infected by the disease? She knew there was only a small chance she had not been infected, and now her whole life depended on it.

She turned to the mirror so she could see the arm. She gasped loudly once she saw the wound slowly heal by itself before her own eyes. The half-dried blood crumbled into large flakes, and a black ink-colored mark appeared on the new skin. Alicia stared in fear at the newly healed wound, hoping for everything in the world that what had happened was not what she feared it was.

She nervously took a step closer to the mirror and looked into her eyes.

"No that's not true," she whispered to herself.

A transparent moon had appeared over her irises. But it was not full, only ⅓ of it could be seen. She pulled a little at the skin around her eyes so that she could have a better look at it. She turned her head and grabbed her pre-injured arm. An ink mark was dyed into her skin. Panic began to engulf her when she caught sight of the exact same moon that could be seen in her eyes. She ran a hand over the emerged sign, which was more reminiscent of a tattoo. The skin was slightly sore and the surface burned her fingers. But she did not pull her fingers away again, letting the burning sensation hit her fingertips. A strange heat flowed through her whole body, and a faint light enveloped her, like a silhouette.

She gasped over the new sensation of something blossoming inside her. She felt like she was being crushed into a corner as if someone else had taken over her body. It was a strange feeling that she didn't like at all. Not having control over her own body. Alicia was scared, no terrified, yet she covered the feeling with anger. The foreign feeling began to whine and retreat. The wolf whimpered.

"Who are you?" Alicia asked, as she sternly looked into the mirror at herself.

The wolf whimpered again and Alicia got a glimpse of herself with a nervous facial expression.

"Va-Valentina."

"How weak," Alicia replied superiorly.

The wolf whimpered again, but not as loud as before.

"We just need to get a few things in place first," Alicia started out with.

"I'm deciding when you will show up, which will probably NEVER happen!"

The wolf did not make a sound and Alicia smirked.

"Well then we have that figured out, now I just need to get rid of these eyes".

Valentina remained silent, but Alicia could feel her sitting and waiting for the next order. Alicia stopped in all her movements and looked herself directly in the eyes. She growled, and the wolf disappeared further away without a single sound. Satisfied, Alicia smiled smugly to herself.

"Alicia come out of there! We know you're in there," Hoseok shouted angrily after standing and knocking on the door for what felt like several hours.

Alicia hurried with the colored contact lenses.

"Bloody hell," she mumbled, as she still hadn't gotten herself together to poke them in the eye.

Jungkook sighed, "Hyung, can't we just kick the door open, it may be that something has happened to her".

The elder stood and pondered the idea for a short time, but then began to smile teasingly, "If you do not open within ten seconds, we will kick the door open."

"And we do not pay the bill," he added.

The girl began to stress even more now. Fuck, fuck, fuck

She took a deep breath, "Okay, you just have to poke them in the eyes and then it's over".

She lifted one of the brown-colored lenses up to her eye, using the other hand to open the eye as much as possible. The lens was an inch from touching the eyeball when a panic wave hit her and she veered away from her hand.

"Arrh! I cannot do this!"

The two boys heard the shout and immediately made eye contact.

"We're opening in 5!" Hoseok shouted.

The younger one had begun to panic. He sincerely hoped that nothing had happened to her.

"4!"

"Damn it too!", the girl cursed and started fumbling with the lenses again.

"3!"

She closed both eyes and clenched her fists, "I can do it."

"2!"

She took a breath for the hundred and seventeenth time.

"1! We're opening now!", Hoseok shouted, kicking hard but precisely to the door.

The old door opened easily and the boys entered. The house was dark and quiet except for a light that came from one of the rooms. It was rare that they were allowed to enter the little old house, but when that happened, they did everything to soak up all the surroundings. The place had not changed since last; still the tidy, empty house as always.

"Alicia?", The younger one said worriedly as they reached the room, which was filled with light.

The door, which was half ajar, pushed the oldest open until light sprang out. A figure, standing with its back to them, stood in the middle of the room, which looked like a bathroom. Jungkook immediately ran over to the figure when he spotted it. He wrapped his arms around the figure and pulled it into his arms.

"I was so scared for you," he mumbled toward it.

Hoseok rolled his eyes at him.

Alicia felt a faint heat rise to her cheeks without her even knowing why. Her whole body overheated in under a few seconds. She was confused as to why she just suddenly felt that way. It was a strange feeling she had never felt before.

"Uh-uh why that?", she stuttered out.

"Tsk, why so nervous all of a sudden, huh?", said the elder with a mischievous smile.

"Huh?", it slipped out of Alicia, and she immediately pushed Jungkook away and turned around.

Hoseok burst out laughing when he saw her, "Just try to see yourself, you're blushing all over your face!"

Jungkook stood in confusion for a few seconds, but when he also caught sight of the faint pink color, he started smirking.

"Am I having the miss blushing all over me, hm?"

The girl glared at them both meanwhile as she pushed past them and hurried out of the bathroom.

The younger one closed his eyes, "It wasn't meant like that, come back!", he shouted at her and ran after her.

Hoseok turned his eyes away from them again, slapping a hand in his forehead and then following the pair, who were so close to having a divorce.
