24| The beginning of the strong friendship

"Hwanwoong, what's going on here!? Why did Ravn, pass me with a growl as he limping with a bloody leg?!!" shouted a nervous Keonhee, who rushed in through Seoho's bedroom door.

He immediately stalled when he spotted the black wolf, which was bound in bandages.

"Seoho?!"

The red glow turned his head confused at Hwanwoong, who was in the process of removing the bloody rags. Keonhee stepped quickly to Seoho's bed but was torn back by a hard grip on his arm.

"Let him be, come," said the green glowing, and dragged him after him out of the room.

"Bu-but, anyone bothers to give me an explanation?!!" the red one exclaimed gleaming and snapped his head towards the older one.

"If you come along," the green glowing replied quietly, stepping out of the room along with the red glowing.

Keonhee sighed annoyed and gave in and followed the elder out of the room. The green luminous closed the door behind them and continued down the hallway.

"Hyung where are we going?" Keonhee said confused as he made sure to keep up with the elder.

They both turned the corner and continued down the stairs and in the direction of the kitchen. When they reached the room, the green luminous man pushed Keonhee down into one of the chairs and sat down opposite him.

"Listen, when was the last time you talked to Dongju?" the elder asked with a sharp look.

"Yesterday, why?" stammered the red glowing.

The eldest sighed predominantly as he ran a hand through his black hair.

"Do you know Donju and Youngjo's relationship with each other?"

Keonhee raised an eyebrow at him, "Uh yeah? Youngjo is the packleader and Dongju is the pack member."

The eldest rolled his eyes at him, "Geez Keonhee, you must be the only one who doesn't know it besides Dongju."

"What-"

"Youngjo is Dongju's mate, and Dongju thinks I'm his," the elder interrupted.

"What-what, but aren't you?" Keonhee asked even more confused now than before.

The green glowing closed eyes and annoyingly rubbed a hand in his head, "No Keonhee, it's just Dongju who's too stubborn to realize it. And now he's just rejected Youngjo, and you know what that means," he said in an even deeper voice than usual, looking seriously into the younger man's red glowing eyes.

"Oh."

"And Seoho and Youngjo got into a fight for the leader-position."

"O-oh," Keonhee stammered, gulping.

They both became silent, but then the red glowing silence broke.

"But who wo-"

"Ravn won," and then the eldest got up and left the kitchen.

_____

The oldest wolf lay looking out over the view. It felt completely paralyzed throughout its body as it lay scattered on the cool stone floor. Small drops of blood still rolled out of its deep wounds in one of its front legs. But the pain was no worse than the pain that weighed on its heart. The wolf closed his eyes tightly, and a squeal escaped its mouth. It hurt so much as if thousands of needles pierced one's heart at once.

"Of course you're here."

The wolf did not even turn its ears in the direction of the voice. The deep familiar voice resounded throughout the room. It had heard the heavy footsteps approaching and sensed the figure sitting next to it.

"Hmm .. it's a beautiful view," said the deep voice.

The wolf opened his eyes and took another look beyond the view. It was beautiful, no one could say no to that. The light golden autumn colors danced in the sunlight, creating an ocean filled with shiny reds, yellows, and greens. A light breeze blew into the open lookout tower and drew lightly into the wolf's dark brown fur. Its sea-blue glowing eyes stood in stark contrast to the yellowish colors outside.

"You know .. I don't think Xion meant it .. He's just confused, and not quite sure about his feelings yet," the deep voice said again.

The wolf's heart quietly contracted more when it heard the name. It stung again, and it squeezed its eyes completely together. The green glowing looked down at the wolf with a pitying expression. He placed a gentle hand on one paw of the sea-blue glowing's. The wolf looked up with its shiny sea-blue eyes. The black-haired boy smiled gently at it while lightly brushing its paw.

Ravn looked away again, but got up and lay down instead with his head on the boy's lap. He closed his eyes and exhaled. The boy quietly ran a hand over Ravn's soft fur, which made the wolf relax more. The bond between them was strong. Their friendship was strong, and it all started when Ravn found the black-haired boy.

Flashback

The little dark-haired boy sprinted out into the woods wearing his school uniform and a bag on his back. His dark locks blew around his head meanwhile, his small, short legs carried him lightly, quickly, and smoothly across the large lawn, also known as the sports field, with his nose facing the large, deep secretive forest. A big smile was scattered all over his face. It was something he had always done after school, without anyone knowing it, and he loved it. He never ran with anyone, but he was never alone. He had Ravn.

Youngjo lived a fairly normal life with both his parents. He went to school, had friends, and went to various leisure activities. There was only one thing no one knew about his family; they were werewolves. This small fact had made his childhood perhaps not as normal as one of other children. He had learned everything within the underworlders' world, including how the hunters had the most power over them. But his family had never had a bad view of either the hunters or the other species of underworlders. His parents were two very pure-hearted people and saw all species as being alike, and that attitude had Youngjo adopted.

At a very early age, Youngjo had had to wear colored contact lenses. His wolf, Ravn, had appeared to him earlier than usual. Even his parents were shocked by it but told him how to handle it. "The trick in having control over his wolf is to accept each other," they had told him. It had not taken Youngjo very long to master it, partly because his wolf was very understanding of him and partly because he was a wise boy who easily understood the things that other children might have a hard time understanding. After Youngjo and Ravn had accepted each other, the boy's eyes, which had previously only had a very faint moon after the wolf had appeared, had turned sea blue. He could remember how he had gasped meanwhile, he looked at himself in the mirror and immediately ran out towards his parents. They were both proud that their son had mastered having control over his wolf at such an early age, which many used to have a hard time with. But he also knew well that the faint moon above his eyes only meant that his wolf was not the strongest of its kind. His parents had many times told him how it meant nothing to his status and that he should not worry about it. And their words he had followed all the way until now, and would also do so into the future.

The damp air, which brought a scent of moist forest floor, hit Youngjo as soon as he stepped in between all the branches. A laugh spread over his finely shaped soft face. He could feel how the forest called to him and pulled at his wolf. It was always an overwhelmingly good feeling for the little boy to step into the woods. Leaves and branches swirled around his legs as he crashed across the forest floor. He could hear and was aware of every little sound in the great forest. It all seemed completely normal, as it should be right up until Youngjo came to a clearing where a block of large stones stood. All sounds had disappeared completely and the boy stopped abruptly. He gazed over the area while sniffing the air. An unknown odor hit him immediately and he began to follow it on cautious legs. The little Youngjo's sense of smell led him slowly around the block with the large stones, where the light had an even harder time reaching down than it already had. And there sat a boy staring straight back at Youngjo with two completely shining green eyes. The boy's black, long hair lay ugly on top of his head, and his clothes were curly, ripped, and dirty. Youngjo could not quite assess how old the stranger boy was, but he seemed younger than himself.

"Who are you?" Youngjo asked cautiously as he took the final steps toward the boy.

It was obvious to Youngjo that the alien boy was just like himself, and had even found the trick to accept- and be accepted by his wolf.

The black-haired boy froze, still with his green eyes fixed on the stranger. Youngjo could see how, the black-haired boy felt uncomfortably comfortable and smiled quietly at him as he held out a hand.

"I'm Kim Youngjo, but you can just call me Ravn, as my wolf is called."

The strange boy still kept his distance and looked at Youngjo's sea-blue eyes. He wanted to be absolutely sure if he could trust him.

"Do you live here?" Youngjo asked wondering when he noticed how a small camp had been set up further next to the boulders.

The black-haired boy nodded and looked embarrassed into the ground, where he stood with one foot and scratched absently into the ground.

Youngjo did not even think the thought through completely before saying it out loud as the next, "You can live with me."

The green eyes immediately flew up on Youngjo.

"I mean, I'm sure my mom and dad don't have something against it .. Then come," said Youngjo and once again reached out his hand to the black-haired boy.

The stranger boy stood and considered the offer very carefully. He tilted his head slightly and examined Youngjo's eyes for any lies. And then he took Youngjo's hand. Youngjo smiled at him and pulled the black-haired boy with him. He laughed all over his face as he sprinted out of the woods with a firm grip on the black-haired boy's hand.

When they reached the edge of the forest and they could look out over the large lawn, both of them glanced at another boy, who was coming running.

"Ravn, where have you been!? I've been waiting for you for a long time now!" shouted the boy, who was approaching them.

The black-haired boy quickly stepped a step behind Youngjo and looked down at the ground. He wanted to hide his green eyes.

Youngjo turned around towards the nervous black-haired boy, "Hey calm down now, Gunmin won't do anything to you. He's like us."

The boy directed his green eyes up towards the sea-blue's and then over to the strange black-haired boy who was standing on the other side of Youngjo.

"Ravn who is he?" Gunmin asked with a raised eyebrow and his brown eyes aimed at the stranger's face.

Youngjo turned around smiling at his best friend, "I found him out in the woods all alone and now he will live at home with me."

Once again, Youngjo turned around, "We can make our own little bunch!"

The black-haired boy felt a heat spread inside. He finally had a place where he belonged.
