Fifty One

School testing existed...that happened— anyways, I'll get back to wiring now seeing as that mountain of stress is off my shoulders!

TW: Crying, Mentions of Death, Screaming (?), and Possession

Guilt.

It weighed heavy on Pine. Like everything else seemed to. For being irrational when first meeting the hermits, for not being able to save their own friends, for getting somewhat possessed by skulk; again, for failing to see when her friends were dying, for the hermits dying, for the skulk, for the situation that got them transported into
Hermitcraft— ...no, they've thought too much.

Pine watched as Ember's body convulsed with sobs.

She needed to stay strong.

To tell yet another lie.

'It's o̸k̸'

'Everything will be f̸i̸n̸e̸'

'Scar and Cub are s̸a̸f̸e̸'

Pine couldn't help the tears that rolled down her cheeks. She didn't stop the sob that tore its way from their throat.

"Ember... we can't go on like this. It needs to end. We need peace."

Ember's head raised to look at Pine.

"I know! I know we need peace and I've tried! I've tried Pine! The Watchers, they— they hurt me, ok? Just...just leva eme alone, please."

"Ok."

And with one word, Pine flew off.

Her communicator sounded like an alarm.

Pine brought it up and immediately dropped it.

The video that was sent by Bdubs was horrible.
Cub, in an obsidian box, covered in skulk, growling and thrashing, screaming and crying joined in and made a depressing melody, distorted bits of audio came in, but none of it reached Pine's ears.

A shuddering breath filled the silence.

A simmering rage, a spark soon to become a flame filled Pine.

"I'm done."

And with that, they flew off yet again.

The skulk wasn't going to survive.

Pine would make sure of it.

By any means necessary.
