Chapter 6- A Whole New World

Waking up was interesting... To put it nicely.

If everything had been normal when you woke up, you probably would have written the whole pig incident off as a dream caused by the amount of stress you were under, but you couldn't. It was pretty hard to deny the existence of a talking pig when you woke up with its nose in your face.

Normally, you probably would have either screamed or shot up and started asking every question that ran through your head as your arm bobbed ever so slightly (so what if you picked up a few ticks from your brothers?). But right now was a bit different. Whenever it was that you had last been awake, you used your quirk no less than six times and you were exhausted.

Your body was sore, as though you were exercising for hours, and even opening your eyes felt like a chore, so overreacting to the pig was a bit more than you could handle.

"Oh, You're awake!" The pig chimed happily, causing you to blink slowly at it.

Maybe if you blinked, it would turn out to be an illusion and go away.

"You were sleeping for so long, we almost thought you died!"

Okay... So that didn't work. Next plan. With a groan, you pushed yourself into a sitting position, "W-Who are you?" Your voice trembled as you moved, your body protesting every movement. "Or, well, maybe what are you?"

The Iida side of your brain was starting to kick in as you tried to analyze the situation. Was this an animal that somehow got a quirk like the principal of UA High School allegedly was or was it a mutation quirk that completely changed a person into a pig? There were plenty of possibilities in the world you lived in and it would be wrong to assume.

You glanced around quickly while the pig was giving you a strange look and glanced at the room.

It was a bit rudimentary, with a wick lantern at the bedside rather than an electric light, but that could be because this was an old building or because of the tastes of the owner. But other than that it was... Normal?

Perhaps it wasn't as odd as you thought, but now that you were thinking about it, you couldn't see any plugins or a central light. And the bed you were lying on certainly wasn't a modern spring bed.

You didn't want to be overanalyzing the room this early in the day, but here you were, going to town.

"What do you mean by that?" The pig asked you, head tilting in a way that didn't seem very possible, seeing as how didn't even have a neck, "I'm a hog, isn't that obvious?"

Perhaps it should have been, but you'd gotten in trouble before when you assumed something obvious, so it was better safe than sorry, "I guess," You said with an uncomfortable smile as you rubbed the back of your neck, "So, do you have an intelligence quirk? I've never met an animal with one before, but I have heard of them."

For some reason, the pig in front of you looked even more confused, "Intelligence quirk?" He asked, but you were caught by the sight out the window before you could answer.

You vaguely remembered seeing something out of place earlier, but as you looked out the window, you could feel your breath hitching.

No.

That wasn't okay.

With a jolt that startled the pig, you scrambled out of the bed and almost fell on your face as you were going to the window.

A mountain. And not one of those little ones that Japan had that were gorgeous but really not all that extreme... No, this was a big mountain that you saw on the internet when you saw pictures of foreign countries.

America apparently had some that were this size, but that didn't make it okay, because your quirk wasn't supposed to extend that far.

You grew up knowing that you had roughly a three kilometer limit on your quirk. It was a comforting thing for you, because you may go to the bottom of a lake, but you would never go to the ocean.

If this was another country then... Then...

Well, that would mean that the security blanket you had with the limit was gone.

Welp, if you weren't going to die before, then you really would now and it would be because of something stupid like going too far out into the ocean. Heck, maybe you could die because you apparated into a volcano. Not going to lie. That would be a cool way to die.

Tenya was going to flip his lid.

You could feel your hands tightening as you stared out at the problematic mountain.

Okay.

So.

To get home, you would have get to a city first, find a phone. Thank goodness you memorized numbers easily.

Of course, they might already know where you are. You looked down at the tracking bracelet, glad that it was there. Once again this beautiful thing would get you out of sticky situ-

The screen of your tracking device was flashing blue slightly. It was subtle, but your heart rose to your throat before immediately plummeting into your toes. A flashing blue light meant it was searching for reception.

Which, in case anyone was wondering, wasn't good.

Your family took security seriously. The Iida's had financed some really high-quality security systems, and this bracelet was one of them. It had been made using a homing quirk that had been tested and was able to get signal immediately anywhere in the world.

It was expensive, sure, but only because it worked. You were one of the first to pilot it, seeing how unpredictable your quirk was, it was a great test run for something like this.

In all the years you had been wearing this, it hadn't once lost reception

You could feel your breath freezing in your throat as you stared down at it, trying to understand what was happening.

Were you in a remote area of the world that just couldn't be reached by your GPS? Maybe some of the islands near Japan couldn't get reception? But what about the mountain? It was easy to see that this was more of a mountain range than it was a solitary mountain.

Was there supposed to be a buzzing in your ears?

"Hey, are you okay?"

No, no you weren't okay. To be honest, okay was probably the antithesis of what you were right now. Okay was a word reserved for people who didn't feel like falling to their knees sobbing or running out the door and finding a cliff to jump off. Okay didn't apply to any of those situations. Okay was meant for those who maybe are running a bit late to work or those who are trying to skirt around their marital issues with nosy family members.

Okay was not meant for a situation where you were hopelessly lost and separated from your family with no real way to get back with a rabid dog who probably hated you now.

Wait... Rabid dog?

Right!

A hand landed on your back right as you were starting to come out of your mini panic attack and you spun around to see a small man, or maybe a child. Either way, you may not be the tallest woman in the world, but this boy came about to your waist... But his face made you think that perhaps he was older. It was mature.

His eyes cinched the deal for you. His eyes had seen more than any child. That wasn't even taking the sword on his back into account. He was the type you just didn't mess with if you wanted a long life-span.

"Who are you?" You knew you sounded guarded as heck, but by at this point, you also felt like you deserved it. "Where's the guy I was with?"

Your leg still hurt from Patches' impromptu attack, and while you may have just woke up, this just felt like a continuation of the chaos that happened before at the facility with Giri. And your brother. Worry for Tenya swirled up in your mind, but it really couldn't stay long as you forced it back.

All that crap could be dealt with later when you actually had time to process what was happening.

The man grinned widely at you as he leaned back slightly with his hands behind his neck, "You know, that guy you came with was asking the same question before closing off, which seems pretty odd to me! How do you not know where you are?"

The pig nudged the man slightly, just enough to draw his attention, "She was saying weird things, she asked if I had an intelligence quirk or something like that."

Okay... Did he not knew what an intelligence quirk was, or just a quirk in general?

At least you knew Patches was okay. You could only assume that this man was talking about him when he referred to 'that guy'. It was more of a relief than you would admit. If Patches had been separated from you in the jump then you weren't sure you would ever find him again.

The man nodded seriously, despite the easy-going grin he was wearing, "True. The third one hasn't woken up yet, but... Well... I don't know what to make of her."

Third one? What? Who else did you drag into this mess?

Okay, no. Focus. If you find out where you are, you can start to figure out how to get home. Seriously though... Who else did you bring? You didn't notice anyone near you when whatever that was, happened!

"Umm..." Your voice was hesitant as you tried to voice this. They didn't know what an intelligence quirk was, did they know what quirks were in general? "I have a quirk that teleports me? I don't control where I end up?"

Should the whole phrase have been voiced as a question? Probably not. Did you have any control over how it came out? Also no.

It was a fun day to be you, and you only woke up a few minutes ago.

The short man's smile dipped ever so slightly, "Quirk?" He asked, folding his arms, "Do you mean magic?"

Magic? That seemed like an antiquated term.

It was odd he'd be confused by the wording there. It was a universal term for the powers... Unless...

"Do you..." You paused for only a moment, "Do you know where Japan is from here?"

Please no. Please no.

The man's confusion deepened further as he tilted his head, and even the pig seemed visibly confused, "Japan? I've never heard of it. You're in the Kingdom of Liones right now."

Where the heck was that?!

Your growing horror was only overshadowed by the door to the room banging open, making the pig scream in horror. Patches stood in the doorway, breathing heavily as he made direct eye contact with you and you winced. It didn't take a genius to realize that he was completely pissed.

"Where the fuck did you take us, hero?"

As mad as he was, you couldn't help but admit that he made a good point.

***

It took a minute, and a whole heck of a lot of awkward conversation, but eventually the whole group moved down to what looked like a nice restaurant.

Once again, no electricity, but you were beginning to think that that was less because of an eccentric owner and more because these people didn't have electricity in general.

Not going to lie... That in and of itself was a horrifying thought.

The man from before introduced himself as Meliodas and the pig was Hawk, interestingly enough, it was an odd name, but definitely not the hardest to remember, what with all the strange names people chose for their hero names back in Japan.

There were two women that you met along the way as well. Elizabeth, who was a polite young thing- perhaps she was too polite, but that was beside the point. The other was a giant named Diane.

When the lady first leaned down to the window and waved at you, Meliodas leaned in, as though expecting you to get scared or something else like it, but it honestly wasn't all that shocking.

Mount Lady had made her debut only a year or two before, and even besides the pro hero running around with spandex and horns, enlargement quirks weren't necessarily uncommon. Heck, earlier in the year, you had helped Mom and Dad at work as they oversaw the rebuilding of housing that was specifically meant for those too large to fit in normal houses.

So you simply waved at the woman and turned back to Meliodas, waving away Elizabeth as she tried to bring you a drink.

There were more important things to worry about. Namely, a piercing glare that was boring into the side of your skull.

Patches was... To put it simply, livid. Especially at you.

He had plans back home, he wanted to go home, and he was already sick of dealing with the people here.

Meliodas was kind enough to give him something to drink, and he had been nursing that drink in a corner ever since, leaving you to explain everything you could.

You could still feel his glare on the side of your face though, which made you cringe every time you thought about it. He had been pulled into this without warning or permission, so you didn't blame him for being mad.

That didn't mean you were looking forward to the inevitable explosion.

It took a while for both sides of the story to get out, and while everyone in the tavern was intrigued by the idea of a world with quirks, it was easy to see how limiting quirks were compared to the idea of magic here.

Sure, magic wasn't the most common ability, but you also weren't limited to doing only one thing, or two if you inherited more than one quirk. No, there was a lot that could be done with magic, and if you learned a single spell, that usually came with learning an entire branch of magic.

Patches had twitched at that, and you glanced at him quickly. You were pretty sure his scars were caused by his quirk, but there was no way to be sure.

If you asked him now, he was more likely to tell you to piss off... Or maybe he would try to kill you again, it really was a mixed bag.

A mixed bag where one of the items was a stick of lit dynamite.

~~~~~~
No, you didn't read that wrong, and no, I didn't forget that I put it in there. There is a third person!
