In this chapter I talk about my original idea of vampires going 'feral'

~Kai's POV~

"Be good for him and for me." Moon whispers into the morning air, hugging me from above.

"Why can't you stay with me?" I frown.

"I need to take care of a few things. I'll be back by night, understand?"

"What things though?" I ask him, grabbing hold of his arm to prevent him from leaving.

"Big boy things. Grown up stuff you shouldn't worry you're little mind about." He gently ruffles my hair and strokes my cheeks, holding my hand in his as he sighs.

"Is he nice?"

"Very."

"Is he going to yell at me?"

"I'll beat his ass if he does." I smile when he says this, giving him a tearful hug goodbye.

Moon gingerly catches the tear on his finger, hugging me even tighter than before. "I promise I'm coming back, baby."

"Promise?"

"Yes."

We hug once more before he slips out of my bedroom, shutting the door behind himself and leaving me alone in the dark.

"Breakfast is downstairs if you want any." My body rolls along the mattress as Julius shakes me awake, oblivious to the fact that my eyes are wide open.

"Thank you." Rolling back around to face the wall I pull the blankets around my face, shivering from the early morning air.

"Hey, get up, Moon told me not to let you lay in bed all day."

He rolls me back over to face him, his hair hanging down and brushing my cheeks as he hovers over me. "Julius." I half beg and half whine, hoping he'd allow me to sleep some more.

"You're brother said no."

"My âme de la vie said no such thing."

"Your bippity boppity boo did too say so now get up, march yourself downstairs, and go eat before it gets cold."

"What if I'm not hungry?" His amethyst eyes turn to slits and I back away, worried he might strike me.

"Scoot over."

He climbs under the blankets with me, blocking the sun out and filling the room with artificial night. He flattens his hair out, running a few fingers through it before letting out a rather large and lengthy breath. "What do you want to do today? Moon left me instructions for how to get to the beach."

"I want Moon."

"Moon's busy."

"With what?" With this he pauses, staring around the room for a while seemingly deep in thought. "You don't know do you?"

"He didn't say."

"Is he with Crew?"

Julius cocks his brow at the mention of him. I guess Moon hasn't told him everything..."Who?"

"His manager. Crew arranges who he sees and stuff at the Brothel and what porn shoots he does and things." My attention focuses on a burnt out twinkle light on my headboard while Julius thinks everything over.

"Moon does porn?"

"Get my laptop." Grabbing the computer from Julius's hands, I close the many Tumblr and Youtube tabs and open a blank one.

"Is this wrong?"

Ignoring his question I ask: "Do you want to go to the brothel's website or just some random one."

"Www.risingsun.com/moon_hiroshi?"He repeats as we wait for the page to load. We're met with a video that I instantly click on.

"I'm Moon Hiroshi, I am twenty years old and I work at The Rising Sun."

"Can you give the lovely people a wave?"

"Hello lovely people!"

"Who is the guy with the camera?" Julius asks, pointing to the video.

"Probably Crew."

"So can you take your Tank Top off? Nice. What about your pants? Good, lay back on the bed for a minute and-"

I pause the video here, exiting the window and closing the laptop. "What's for breakfast again?" I quiz in a failed attempt to change the subject.

"Tea, toast with mango jam, and duck. Why? Are you hungry?"

"A tad bit, yes."

Julius helps me out of the bed and down the steps to the kitchen, my plate already assembled and ready to eat. Moon must have left instructions for everything. My toast has been sliced into 12 pieces, exactly half of them have jam and are arranged in a pattern. My tea has no sugar and there is only one piece of duck on the plate. Julius seemed to have used the rice bread instead of wheat bread for the toast as well.

"You follow directions well."

"I do my best." He takes the seat across from me, intensely observing me. "Are you going to purge after this? It was in the notes Moon left."

"Maybe. Depends on how I feel." I smile, lifting my tea to my lips but not taking a sip just allowing the fumes to penetrate my nostrils and fill my head.

"Well...how do you feel?"

"Better than yesterday."

"About yesterday...I-"

My fork crashes on the plate as I hurriedly hold my finger up to stop him. "It's alright."

"No-"

"Moon trusts you with me. Enough said."

"Does he not trust you with many people?" He swirls his coffee around, adverting his eyes from mine as I speak.

"We don't put our trust in many people. Moon says that is how you get hurt."

Julius shamefully looks away from me, focusing on a cupboard in the kitchen. I gingerly wrap my fingers around his chin and give a tug, forcing him to look me in the eye. "Obviously," I smile. "he was wrong."

He stampers for a minute, rapidly blinking and trying to digest what I just said. "Moon doesn't hold a terrible grudge against me because I practically ra-"

"He will if you say the 'r' word in front of me." I cut in.

"Because I practically attacked him?" He finishes.

"No, he actually seems to really like you. As a whatever-you-two-are not like as in a kiss-me-senseless type way thing."

Julius takes my finished plate away, hastily washing it and returning to the dining room. The chandelier lights twinkle and reflect above the glossy black table I sit at. Julius notices, pausing to stare into the table for a moment before returning his attention to me. "What now?"

"I just got the new Grand Theft Auto game. We could play it?"

"It's been like an hour." I argue as we stare at the alarm clock beside Moon's bed.

"It's five in the afternoon!"

"Is no-" The rumble of the garage door opening has me convinced as Dad's car glides into it's usual spot. "Shit."

"What?" Julius's eyes furrow with concern.

"Nothing, it's just my turn to make dinner tonight." I groan, falling back onto Moon's mattress and taking a deep breath, filling my nose with vanilla.

"C'mon, I'll help you." He pulls me out of the bed effortlessly and I lead him down the steps. Making sure to unlock the front door for Dad, I rush Julius into the kitchen and in front of the fridge.

"What do we make?" I pant as the keys turn in the door. Flipping on the TV and throwing open various cookbooks on the counter, I flip the oven and stove on as well as bringing out a few pots and pans. Dad enters the kitchen as I finish my task, Julius's clueless look helping me even more.

"What've you been up to?" He asks, eyeing the kitchen suspiciously.

"Trying to find what we want to cook for dinner."

"How about..." His eyes search the cookbooks sprawled carelessly on the counter. "lasagna?"

"Daddy?" I question as he turns to go up the steps.

"Mhmm?"

I crack into a smile. "I love you."

"I love you too."

"This is really good!" Clide applauds our hard work as he bites into the lasagna. "Seriously though!"

I'm seated next to Moon, his hand wrapped around mine under the table as I lean on his shoulder. "Did you have fun with Kai, Julius?"

He nods and smiles through bites of lasagna as Moon looks over at me. "What did you two do?"

"Played video games."

Moon shakes his head in amusement while Julius glances around the table. "Was it hard for you to adopt all of them being a single parent and all?" He asks Dad.

The entire table erupts into fits of laughter with even Dad laughing a bit. "Start with me!" Clide yells through his chuckles.

"No me, mine is the best!" Will giggles, slamming his palm against the table.

"How about I just go in order." The table quiets down as Dad begins explaining how he came about 'adopting' me.

"Kaiien was my first child. I had never really been a family man before that. Never dreamed of being married or having children or any of that. I don't remember where I was living at the time that this happened but it was near the woods, I had just gotten my first job as a doctor though, way way back a few centuries ago.

"I don't remember why I was in the woods that day...night...my memory is pretty foggy on this whole thing. I think I was getting some roots for the next morning when I heard this growling coming from behind a tree. Like the idiot I was I approached the tree with no weapons and BAM there was Kai curled up in a ball bleeding from the mouth.

"His speech was slurred beyond understanding and he just shook when I got near him. I was changed at this point and by the looks of him he seemed to be starving, the bleeding mostly from the gums because he didn't know what to eat. He was either going Feral or was already there."

"What is Feral?" Julius cuts in.

"Vampires need to stay with the person that changed them for at least five months before they seperate. Kai was probably seperated immediately after he was changed. He didn't know how to feed himself or do anything that vampires are supposed to teach the people they change. They just revert to running around in the wild blindly attacking people and there is really no cure for it." Dad explains.

"So how did Kai survive?"

"He had already been bound to Moon at the time. With Moon being a shifter he isn't affected by turning Feral. That half of Moon's soul in him kept Kai sane enough to last two months starving in the woods."

"Then what? After you found him?"

"He just kept growling and backing away from me. I offered him a slab of meat from my pack and he just stared at it then at me before hastily reaching for it and running away. I could tell he was a newborn by the way his balance was so off, he wasn't used to his new body and tripped after about five steps. I remember touching him for the first time as he laid there petrified and scared for his life-"

"I immediately stopped shaking." I smile warmly at my savior.

"And you stood up as much as you could and fell onto me. That was when I knew I had to do something or else he would die. I cared for him, nursed him back to health and taught him everything that sorry ass of a Changer should've. We never really officially established anything. He called me dad and I introduced him as my son and it was like that for years."

"Until I brought hell and havoc into the Pattinson household." Moon laughs, bobbing his shoulder and my head up and down.

"What do you mean?" Julius cocks his brow at both Dad and Moon.

"Kai had been with me for many years now and came into my bedroom at about four in the morning sobbing his heart out. I had been asking him what was wrong over and over for the past hour and a half before he started screaming 'I miss Moon, I miss Moon'. So I pulled open the curtains and said 'the moon is right there' and he kept screaming and crying. At about eight in the morning he was calm enough to explain who Moon was and I was heart-broken. Kai telepathically arranged everything and Moon was at our doorstep the next week.

"He wanted nothing to do with me. He would snarl and bare his teeth whenever I got anywhere near Kai. They slept together and I could hear him growling at me through the door whenever I walked by him. I had knowledge of Kai being abused but I knew nothing about Moon. Hell, I thought he was a vampire as well.

"A month passed like this, me being able to go no where near my son and a stranger ruling the household. Then one day Kai just did something that made me so mad, I don't even remember what but I snatched him by the arm right in front of Moon. I could visually see something snap in his mind and my entire body went cold. I let go of Kai but he just stood there in front of me crying, thinking I was going to hurt him. I had never laid a hand on him or touched him in all of the time I knew him.

"He just starts crying Moon's name. Moon had been standing there silently the entire time just watching me and then everything happened so fast. Kai stopped crying and was in his room and I was on the ground with Moon physically on top of me ripping out my jugular. I was absolutely terrified because the way our fangs our situated it would be physically impossible for us to do this. I had no idea what type of creature was killing me right now I just saw blood and blackness. I tried to throw him off of me but I couldn't. It was as if I killed a cub in front of it's mother.

"I thought I was going to die. I just knew I was done for it until Kai came downstairs and calmly said 'Moon stop it' and just like that he was off of me and I was passed out. It took us three years to have a normal relationship after that happened but we worked it out in the end."

"Do you still have the scar?" He pulls down his collar to show a large silver crescent that spans the entire side of his neck.

"A reminder never to touch Kai like that again or I will literally saw your head off your body with my teeth." Moon calmly says through clenched teeth.

"The first thing you said to me when you brought me home was 'stay away from the big one, don't touch the small one'. I still remember that." Clide chuckles.

"And that brings us to Clide. We had moved at this point and Moon was opening up to me, telling me bits and pieces about him growing up. I was still a doctor and was helping out with the war when I met this boy who just seemed darker than night. I had never met anyone that looked remotely mixed in my life so to see someone with European and Puerto Rican blood just confused the hell out of me!

"His arm was bleeding and I had just started out with tending soldiers and my boss just threw me into the tent with him. He was completely naked and his teeth wouldn't stop chattering because of the pain. I take the knife and start cutting away at the skin and find nothing but burned muscle. I had zero experience with bullets so I was just like 'oh this is totally normal'. Until I see the ruby and begin to panic. it had been so long since I had met another vampire. He was gripping my forearm until eventually it just went numb.

"I don't remember much that happened in that tent because I was so stressed but we got the bullet out and won the war apparently. I told him my life story and he told me his. With both his parents dead and his arm so wounded he couldn't return to war, he came home with me and became my third son."

"Are any of these kids legally yours?" Julius laughs and Dad joins in.

"William was an experience. By this time all of the boys either had bad families or no families so it was a culture shock when I met Will, a spoiled rich boy from the south. He had a gambling problem and his parents had brought him to the hospital when they found him having trouble breathing. Turns out he lost a bet with a vampire and was in debt. An eternity of serving a man he'd never met. Will had an allergic reaction to the venom which caused his throat to swell and left him in the hospital until he was finished changing. He served five months before paying his way out of slavery and having his parents die in a buggy crash a few weeks later.

"He served about three months in the mental ward and the minute he got out he found me and said 'I want to stay with you.' I couldn't refuse and thus Will became the fourth son."

"Now me." James giggles through his soda causing it to bubble.

"Now you. I had four sons now and was at that time in my life when I wanted to actually change someone. I talked about it with the boys, asking if they wanted a sister or a brother, and how old they wanted them to be. We were living in Europe at the time and I went to the local orphanage and said I would like to see all the eight year old boys they had. The minute I saw James I knew I wanted him. He was extraordinarily bright for his age and had his nose buried in a book. I asked if he would like to have older brothers and his eyes lit up on the spot. I said what about four and he looked ready to burst.

"Just three weeks after I adopted him I got right into explaining magic and vampires to him and he just soaked it up like a sponge! He loved it! He was my first ever human son and I was surprised when he started growing just because I wasn't used to it. We had always talked about his change and eventually the time came. I asked if he wanted to do this and he just said more than anything. I was nervous, my palms were sweaty, but it happened and now James is here. He is probably closest to all of them because he actually got to grow up with them, he still sees Kai as his older brother in a way even though he is years older than him."

"And now we're one big happy family!" I jump up.

Moon holds me by the waist as I jump up and down excitedly until I manage to calm down. He gives a sweet smile with his chin on my head in Julius's direction.

"And you're a part of it."

In the video it says Moon is 20 but he isn't. They lied because you need to be over 18. Also because 17 year old prostitutes don't look good for your business :D
