Jurisdiction: Central _mor, K_ng_om of _mm_rt_lia
Year: 16917 ZE (Present)
Place: Castle of Imor, the first wall.
This useless thing heard heavy footsteps, one of a grand giant, one of the devourer of Life.
The land beneath me, the one of Kingdom of Immortalia groaned in agonizing pain, and despair of its loss. The rumbling of the land slapped my splattered cheek, convulsing me awake.
Pain opened my eyes, to reveal that I had lost my right hand, my dominant one. Blood had already flowed out of it. Any normal human would have died due to excessive blood loss.
But I was not one.
I was a cursed one. I would live to scoff at myself. Death was a far better freedom than this, disgrace.
The Devastus had succeeded. It had broken through all the seventeen walls of Sieg Imor, and it would soon devour the Castle and gain its Immortality. The realm would succumb to chaos for thousands of years to come.
Life will cease to exist.
I had to get up on my feet myself, for there was no one around who lived any longer, to lend me their hand and help
Everything burned around me. Everyone had succumbed to the evil. There was no energy left within me. There was no light, there was no life force, There was no one, no kingdom to protect anymore!
It was just me, kneeling before the Inevitable.
My face was almost burnt. My skin was totally lost. I was literally just flesh and bones. When I tried to get up on my feet, I Realized,
I lost my left foot.
T'is felt a scratch to me, after my soul was ripped out, and stabbed several times with me seeing whoever I loved dying like pawns in a board game. People who had trusted me lay before me dead, their lifeless eyes looking at me, shouting 'I had trusted you,' with their blood slattered out all around.
I had let down all of them.
I wondered if I even had blood in my body. Even after getting rid of all that cursed blood from my body, I was still not able to die. This is the real curse. The greatest truth I have learned in my pathetic damned life,
Immortality is a damned curse, the worst of the curses.
I gazed at the spirit of Devastus, approaching the crashed Castle of Sieg Imor. Devastus had already overwhelmed my Grandez magic. It was all over. How vulnerable were we? I never realized it myself. That day I did, and it was too late.
I heard millions screaming, most other inhabitants already relieved of their lives to this mass destruction. I used my sword just to get back on my feet, with a very little amount of magic still flowing through me. Its blade turned blunt in the battle anyway. The sword was no more than a mere walking cane now.
Why did my heart keep beating? I would never know. I never had blood in the first place. I thought I deserved to die with them. I wanted that forsaken creature to notice me and kill me! That freaking thing did not even notice my cries.
I just wanted to die.
How Naïve I was when they said that I am the chosen one, I possessed the means to end all of it.
"I had freakin' started this! This is my doing! Why did they mistake me as the one," I mumbled in grief,
Then I gathered all my hatred at my throat, then spat out with everything I had left, "IT WAS MEANT TO BE...HER!"
What more could I do than yell in despair. I had let an entire realm fall under my command. The last of the united forces, for once in their damned mortal life kept aside their racial differences to fight against it. If they had only lived together with the same way they die together today,
Things could have been better.
My life had no meaning. None of our lives had meaning. We were all just meant to be disintegrated by the chaos of today. Why did we resist it, if what was meant to happen today happened without even the slightest bit of a change? It never mattered how much I tried to change it.
When I collapsed down to the dust, Breaking my sword, I heard the grandest voice echoing past the ashen skies.
"Everything has happened as I anticipated, child. You need not worry"
For a moment, My eyes bulged out in amazement. Perhaps did I succeed in summoning him here?
"Kaisen Grandez! I-Is that you!?" I yelled with all the remaining strength.
"That's a name people used to call me millennia ago."
"Wh-What did you Anticipate?" I said weakly. "Did you foresee the destruction of humanity and all life in this realm? And you decided to do nothing about it!?" I coughed out blood. I could not see him anywhere nearby. I felt that he was just inside my head, or it was my subconscious thought speaking to me.
"I am sorry to see that you have not learned to wield the required magic, human! Perhaps you must try again to find the solution in your past..."
Then I lost it. "You seventeen millennia-old man! I have looked into the damn past several times already! THERE IS NO SOLUTION!"
"There is a solution that you refuse to see!"
"And I am not sparing you, even if that means an eternity until you figure out the solution by yourself! Over time, I have become too weak to wield the Instigator: Time magic. Only you can do this task, as the chosen one."
A human-like spirit formed in front of me. It was nothing close to how monstrously bigger Devastus was, but still my size's equal.
His holy spirit walked towards me, and his pointing finger passed through my chest and reached to my heart.
The Strength still runs within your veins, the chosen one's heart still did not give up. I will expend my life force to revive you."
I suddenly felt the worst irritating itch over my cleanly cut hand and terribly bitten-off leg. My Aura extended past my physical body to compensate for my missing parts. My face hurt the most. Only my pain, I realized again that I was missing an eye too.
Living cells grew from my body to regenerate my right hand, my left foot, and my left eye. I had regained my vision and my strength.
"The grandeur of the light will shine upon these lands once again if you succeed, the chosen one,"
When I glanced at the castle, it was already disintegrated, and Devastus was consuming the power orb of the Power Temple, the last of it.
"I wish we could speak more, but time is not kind enough to us today,"
"I can just sit back and observe, right?" I quoted, but then I startled when I started to regain my memories. It felt, that I was getting a memory of another being. I felt a severe headache. "I am remembering all the times I have met you now! T-That means-"
"My spirit is liberated. You will lose your memories again. You can be no more than a spectator in the Space-Time Fabric of Inhilare creation. But once you return to this point again, you will remember ever-y-th--h-ing. See yo_ lat_-_"
The Magic Beast, the omen spirit, Devastus rested its eyes on me. I could have said that it had many plans with a mortal being like me, old and withered. Even when I did not know what it was thinking, one thing was certain,
Sparing me alive was not what it was thinking.
When I wanted to just die, that stupid thing did not even bother my existence. When I wished to live, then it identified me. Mother nature always enjoyed deriving its pleasure by inflicting pain upon others - the greatest sadist I had ever seen. Nature always mocked us with its stupid irony.
"Ah, Devastus!" I yelled, stupid thing did not flinch. Its gigantic black energy penetrated everything on its path to reach me, planning to shred me down to my last atom, as if I never existed.
Even destroying the Imortian Sky Castle, it had tremendous difficulty closing in after a certain distance.
I had activated my Grandez Barrier, the strongest I had got back then.
"Did you think I would fall?" I looked right at its evil reddish black eyes with my pride golden ones, if it was called its eyes.
"Challenge accepted, Devastus, You cannot frighten me anymore!"
For I have nothing left to lose. All those whom I loved, they were,
Gone.
And hence I wielded the magic once more. This time I would observe the events more clearly. I was destined to do that. My memories will be lost, but my heart will guide me.
"Dafarys Livana Unnaria!"
