Chapter 1
Chapter One.
Lady Bug
Laying on the cold hard ground I call a bed, bundled with a thin blanket surrounding my small body, a pillow barely filled with feathers and stuffing lay under my bruised head. My eyes slowly broke open as a small chirp of a bird made its way to my ear. I sat my body up slowly, careful not to let it drop onto the ground from its weak stature.
My gaze slowly turned to the direction of the chirp just moments ago. With my blurry vision I looked at the only source of light that eliminated this small room that's considered my room. When really, its my cage, my dungeon, my cell, my hell.
I watched as a small blue bird chirped once again and landed next to my small window, I pecked oh so elegantly at the floor in search for its next meal. I watched in aw as the small majestic bird hopped freely around my enclosed, barred window.
My eyes widened a tad when I saw it disappear, my left hand left the ground and reached up for the bird that must have flown away. Without a second thought, my small cracked lips parted from one another and my voice slipped through my vocal cords, trailing out in a rasped sound.
"Take.. Me with you."
I called out, wishing to be free like the bird, to open my arms and fly far from this hell I called a home. This was my punishment that the moon goddess bestowed upon me. I've always thought, I must have done something terrible in my past life to have this one.
I sighed to myself when I didn't get the reply I had hoped for, the bird wasn't coming back, and for sure that little creature couldn't save the hopelessness of me.. Oh woah is me, woah is me...
Curling my legs to my flat, bruised and dirty chest I dropped my head upon my knees and let out a quiet sob. I knew I had nothing wrong, they just throw me in here for fun.. Maybe this time they had forgotten about little ol' me.. Maybe I can finally die knowing that its better with the goddess than this hell hole..
But sadly,to my dismay I would never get the death I oh so desire. I know people always say "Lift up your chin." "It will be a brighter day tomorrow." "Your love will come to you." Well, I got news for you. My love, my mate. Isn't coming. I've waited almost 18 years, for them to find me, to save me, to love me and cherish me the way every mate is supposed to. But I waited, and waited. But they..
They never came.
I curled my small, fragile legs as close as they would go, my rib cage posed my bony thighs and growled quietly. I hadn't eaten in .. A week? I've been in here so much time passes by like the wind blows. It looks like it was only seconds, when really it was hours long.
I sat there, on the cold, hard, lifeless ground that has been my only friend Since I was brought here. That's right, truthfully I'm not part of the pack, I was dropped off at the front porch step of my alphas house. I was outside all night and I didn't make a single sound to indicate I was out there. I was discovered in the morning by one of the omegas, shes kind of like my mother, she treats me like her own son even though shes 78. Ya, shes getting there in old age..
She told me once she could never have pups. And that day she found me, she said it was as if her prayers where finally heard by the moon goddess. She had named me Allen for she told me her first born was to be called that name, she always wished to have a son and I made her wish come true that faithful night.
I let out another sigh and listened to the quietness that filled the dry air around me. Closing my eyes I felt my body starting shut down on me, I was still tired from doing absolutely nothing. As my body started to tip forward the metal door of the basement suddenly opened, banging against the concept walls not once but twice. My body shivered and uneasily as I almost jumped out of my skin from the sudden outburst.
My eyes widened as I met the eyes of my alpha, his dark brown orbs pierced into my sea blue eye. My body froze in its place, each muscle and bone seem to be immovable in his gaze. I watched as he corrected his posture and walked towards me in slow strides, his black biker boots thumped against the ground as he made each step that seemed to drag me deeper and deeper into submission against the man before me.
Lowering my head, I dropped it in between my shoulders and awaited for whatever words he would spew out of his horrid mouth. I finished as he took in a breath as he now circled my body. I heard none of his words as he began to speak and only lowered my head more as his non-existent words felt like venom traveling through my frail body.
He grabbed my arm with a fierce grip, making me drop my only source of heat onto the floor. Dragging me out of the room he pulled me down the hallways and threw me into the living room we call a den. My body hit the ground with a gentle thud and I laid there not at all eager to get back up.
My alpha yelled and screamed at me for deeds I could never do, crimes everyone including myself I could never commit. But yet, he still spat these lies. Like a fly caught in the spiders web, I was trapped, bent in the will of my alpha that never truly accepted me.
I stared off into the distance, my lifeless eyes gazed forward. All hope had left them years ago, and in my thoughts. They could never be regained. My adopted mother tried to keep all the words problems hidden from me, she tried to keep the hurt and hate from crushing my soul. But deep down, she knew she couldn't keep it from me for long.
When I was 8, it was the final day I had lost hope. My eyes drained of all the wonder and curiosity they held before. But the pack members and alpha quickly took that from me.
My gaze turned back to my alpha who I soon realized was no longer there. Cloths now lay at my dirty, tiny, skinny, pale feet. Sitting up carefully and slowly I grabbed hold of the boxers and black skinny jeans, slipping them on in a slow, gentle manor. My eyes followed my hands as I reached for the white button up shirt.
My long white hair slowly slipped from behind my ears and feel into my view. I knew I had to get it cut but I was always either to busy working in the pack house or being locked up like a caged rabbit.
I grabbed the pair of socks and slipped them onto my small feet, then slipped on the black and white warn out Converse. A small huff left my nostrils as I tried to push myself off the ground, my body staggered a bit and soon I was leaning up against the walls of the den. Getting my legs adjusted to my weight like I always had to l walked to the kitchen to start off the day full of chores.
How my life is so lovely.
