I couldn't stop smiling. Not to mention my cheeks felt hot still from last night. The message wouldn't leave my mind.
"Hey dude, what's with that goofy look on your face?" Victor asked pointing at my face and I felt my face heat up more.
"What goofy look?" I asked furrowing my eyebrows.
Perhaps my smile looked weird? I didnt exactly know how I was smiling. I just knew I was by the feeling in my cheeks.
"Never mind." he laughed then poked my cheek.
"You have freckles but their very light and their isn't that many." he said and my cheeks grew warmer as I pulled away.
"Umm...thanks for the info?" I said shrugging and he only laughed then smiled at me.
What was I exactly suppose to say to that? Ugh I'm just an awkward potato.
Once Algebra 2 was over I headed straight to art. I got a huge sheet of paper and some paint. I placed my hands on my hips staring down at the paper. I wasn't exactly sure what I was going to paint.I sighed softly dropping my arms down as Clyde sat down next to me. I glanced over at his art work and my eyes widen.
It was a field of sunflowers. Their was a bright blue sky he had used pastels to color it. The yellow grass and the figure with a huge straw hat looking up at the sky and puffy clouds. He painted the clouds and the sun. The sunflowers were also painted. The figure was drawn with pastels and colored in with it but the straw hat was painted.
"Your art looks good." I said and his cornflower blue eyes glanced up at me then he smiled when our eyes met.
"Thanks, how's yours coming along?" he asked his eyes about to glance down at mine but I threw myself practically across the table to cover the blank sheet making him laugh.
"Sorry I'm late." a voice said I was about to give Victor a death glare but noticed he was sitting next to Cory doing art.
I looked up and saw a boy with fawn colored blonde hair giving Mr. Kent a pink piece of paper. (Psst looks like this⬇️)
"Well Mr.Grey where were you yesterday?" Mr. Kent asked and all I heard was a mumble from the boy.
When he turned facing our way my eyes widen. His ocean blue eyes were mesmerizing. I think stared too long because he was looking back at me and squirmed a bit gulping before walking past me. I groaned slumping down in my seat before laying my face on the cold surface of the table.
Awkward, I just freaked that boy out with my weirdness. Ugh but all the guys here have pretty eyes. Better eyes then me.
"Aww I'm so glad you think that." Victor said ruffling my hair and I felt my face heat up then groaned as Clyde laughed.
And I said that out loud.
"You have nice eyes too." I heard a voice say and noticed the boy that came in was pulling a chair to our table.
My face heated up. I buried my face in my arms.
"I'm so sorry if I made you feel awkward." I grumbled and I heard them all laugh.
"It's not a big deal....I mean yeah I was wondering why I was being stared at." the boy said laughing as he pulled a sheet out.
"Sorry." I said lifting my head up slightly. "I'm socially awkward with people I don't know." I said sighing as he was already drawing with pastels.
Everyone knew what to draw. Even this guy that just came in.
"Is that suppose to be the ocean?" I asked.
"Yeah." he said as blue smudges covered his fingers.
"Nice drawing." I mumbled and he quirked an eyebrow glancing over at my sheet then laughed softly.
"Nice art over there." he said and I felt my cheeks heat up as I covered the sheet huffing.
"Oakely just draw anything." Victor said.
"Music might help." Cory said pulling a ear bud out and I groaned.
"I'm just not as creative as you guys are." I said moving my hand around and spilled the bucket of blue water over my sheet.
They all blinked and I almost screamed. Yes, just paper. But Mr. Kent said we only get one sheet. I wanted to crawl in a hole. Why do I have to be so clumsy? I sighed about to get up and throw it away and just beg for another piece of paper.
"Wait." the boy said before I stood all the way up.
"It looks like that sky." he said and everyone else including me looked down at it.
He was right. It did cover most of my paper but I can always cover it up with paint or something.
"Alright I'll do a sky then." I said smiling and he shot me a smile back.
In the end it was a pretty good work of art if I do say so myself. I made purple dark bluish clouds. The ground was black with some figures and a tree. I also painted some constellations in white. Everyone said I did a pretty good job. But if the boy at our table didn't stop me from throwing it away it wouldn't have happened.
"You have Biology next?" Clyde asked the boy.
"Yeah, what did I miss in class?" the boy asked.
"Scary stuff." I said shivering and Clyde laughed.
"An explosion, which we are making our own today. You can join our group." Clyde said and he nodded smiling.
We went to our table as soon as we came in. The boy sat across from me pulling out a notebook and pencil. Eventually the room was filled with students and the teacher took the attendance.
"Oakely Denver?" the teacher called.
"Here." I said raising my hand.
"Farley Grey?" she called out next.
"Here." the boy said raising his hand.
"Farley." Clyde said after whistling.
"Yeah?" Farley said quriking an eyebrow looking amused.
"That's different." Clyde said and Farley shrugged.
Eventually we got different colored substances to mix. We all had to wear goggles and gloves.
"Can this kill people?" I asked as Farley took notes looking close at the bubbling green substance.
"Maybe." the teacher said smirking and my eyed widen as Farley laughed.
"She's just messing with you." Farley whispered and I huffed.
"Well that's just rude." I said and he smiled.
"Well once your here for a month or so you'll get use to it." he said.
"You can tell I'm a new student?" I asked as the green substance made a hissing noise making me jump.
"Yeah, I didn't see you in my classes before." he said and I nodded getting away from the liquid as Clyde worked on mixing the blue and pink back and forth.
"It won't cause a reaction." Clyde groaned as Farley passed me the yellow one.
"Uwa-Uwah I don't want that." I said pushing it back to him and he quirked an eyebrow.
"I just need you to hold it." he said and I gulped picking it up shaking slightly.
"Hold still." he said trying to pour the pink substance in.
"It won't blow up wi-" I began to say.
BOOM!
I coughed and hacked trying to feel for something. I couldn't see anything and could barely breathe. I think I dropped the glass beaker because I heard something shatter. Then I felt my arms be grabbed but not where it would hurt.
"Oakely." a voice said then they coughed.
"Far-Farley? Clyde?" I spoke gasping slightly.
"Right here man." Clyde said and I felt my back be pat before something move my goggles slightly.
I blinked opening my eyes to meet ocean blue ones. I felt my face heat up because of the close distance. I pulled away looking down at the glads that I broke grimacing.
"Smoke fogged up your goggles." Farley said as Clyde got a broom and I nodded slowly sighing.
"You okay there?" the teacher asked walking over and I nodded slightly coughing.
I felt bad for breaking the beaker. I told her I would pay for a replacement but she said it was okay. Of course I didn't exactly want to pay for it but I did break it. Eventually the bell rung and we all packed up making our way to our next class.
"Your in Photography too?" I asked as Farley and I walked down the hall.
"Yeah I'm in to taking pictures of anything but myself." he laughed.
"But you'd probably look nice in a selfie. And is it weird that I hate taking pictures of myself but do like at least maybe three a month?" I asked as he shook his head grinning and I grinned back.
In Photography their was more long lectures. Farley told me it happened a lot in that class so I'd get use to it. At Lunch Victor and Farley had some stare off. Like a glare stare off. Well mostly Farley was glaring. It seems like Victor has weird tension with some people. I kind of wonder why. He seems nice to me.
School ended quicker than I thought. Their are some classes that go so slow to me but for the most part the school day goes by fast. Sadly so does my little time alone at home. Also it turns out Farley is in band with us and plays the saxophone. Him, Victor, and Clyde were in most of my classes but not in all of them.
"Go to bed if your done with home work." dad said walking past my room.
"Okay." I grumbled before turning away from the door typing to BookerBooker.
CyberGeek: So truth or dare?
Yeah, I decided playing a game where we could get to know each other more would be nice. He first suggestioned twenty questions but we both are terrible at coming up with questions. So I suggested this, we still have to come up with things but it's a bit fun.
BookerBooker: Dare
CyberGeek: I dare you to tell me something about yourself that nobody else knows.....If you want to I mean you don't have to
I mentally face palmed. I just rambled on like the awkward potato I am. All of a sudden my stomach grumbled on cue. I got up and made myself a sandwich before coming back to read his message.
BookerBooker: No it's fine, but you can't tell anybody.
CyberGeek: I won't
I chewed my lip waiting for his reply. My heart was beating fast. He was telling me something that no one else would know, just me. And he was trusting me. My heart did a weird flip flop as my phone vibrated and the screen flashed.
BookerBooker: I'm gay
I stared at it for a second. How was I suppose to reply? That's great? I don't really care that he is, you like who you like or love. I just didn't know how to reply.
CyberGeek: Uwa-Uwah I don't know how to reply
BookerBooker: Haha it's okay, how do you feel about it? Weirded out? Your the first person I've told...well I told my dog but last time I checked he's not a person lol.
I smiled gently at that. He always finding away to make me smile or laugh. Wait- I'm the one who's suppose to be doing that at this moment.
CyberGeek: Uwa-Uwah I'm not weirded out or anything. It's not a problem. And I won't tell anybody.
BookerBooker: You promise?
CyberGeek: I pinkie promise *holds out my pinkie*
BookerBooker: *quirks an eyebrow*
I felt my face heat up. I buried it in my pillow. He thinks I'm weird now doesn't he? That was weird... I've only known him for what? Four days now? Soon I felt my phone vibrate.
BookerBooker: *wraps my pinkie around yours* Okay
My face heated up more. I could feel my neck getting hot also. I think my hands were sweating too. My heart did that weird flip flop thing again.
CyberGeek: *squeezes gently* :) Okay
~ Good? Bad? Sorry I tried hard, I'll work on it more. I have lot's of things planned for this book and other books also. Well until next time my lovely potatoes.
