Fifty
Rose
The man seemed relaxed as he strolled around the kitchen, picking up an apple and throwing it upwards into the air before catching it and taking a large bite with that 'crunch' noise from the movies.
After that one bite, he tossed it into the bin as if he didn't like it. Then he leaned against the fridge, his arms folded and a loud sigh coming from him with his eyes closed. He looked exhausted.
My sweaty hands fidgeted around with each other as I didn't know what to do. I was stuck, alone in a room with Cristiano's brother - the brother he betrayed and had not seen for years.
Then his hazel eyes opened and landed on me.
My breath hitched and I straightened my posture, swallowing roughly and nervously.
His eyes ran down my body, making me feel self conscious, and moved back upwards to my eyes.
"What happened to you?"
His voice was as deep as his brother's and filled with powerful ness. I licked my lips, my eyes averting to my hands. "I. . .I um. . ." I didn't know what to say or how to explain everything but thankfully, Cris entered the room, wearing a shirt and hiding away his attractive abs.
I blinked up at him, my heart thumping against my chest as he sat on the stool beside me.
"So, you stole the mafia's money and spent it on an old ass boxing ring and a rustic loft? Oh, and you brought yourself a prostitute and hit her?"
Cristiano stood abruptly to defend as I gasped, my eyebrows narrowing at him in offence. "I am not a prostitute!" I snapped before Cris could say anything, beginning to get angrier and angrier by the second.
I pulled his arm and he sat back down, glaring at his brother. "I wouldn't hurt a hair on her."
"Sorry," Vincenzo said to me, his tone sincerely apologetic and I murmured, "it's okay," sensing his seriousness.
"But if you don't mind me asking, who are you?"
My lips parted but I didn't even know what to say. No words came out.
"She's my ex," Cristiano muttered before quickly changing the subject by saying, "I think before you judge me, little brother, you should hear the whole story."
Vincenzo scoffed, snorting in disbelief. "The whole story? I don't give a fuck. You're nothing, you pathetic bastard. You stole money just to run away from your petty problems."
Cristiano stood, glaring hard at him and leaning forwards in anger. "Don't fucking talk to me like that. I know what I did was wrong but-"
"But what?" Vincenzo interrupted impatiently, coming off the fridge and standing face to face to his brother. They were the same height and both intimidatingly glared directly at each other.
"Let me guess," Cris sarcastically said, "you're the mafia King."
Vincenzo chuckled. "Yeah. I did a better job that you would've."
"So, what the fuck are you here for?" He snapped, his hand curling into a fist by his side and my eyes widened, knowing that if one more button was pushed, he would snap.
"Both of you stop it!" I snapped, coming off my chair and storming towards them, pushing their hard chests apart with all of my energy. Both of them were buff and I struggled to push them far so they only went a few centimetres away.
"You can't get anything solved if you're arguing like five year olds. You're just as petty as each other, no wonder you're brothers!"
"He is not my brother," Vincenzo snapped, his eyes shooting daggers at Cristiano who scoffed.
I sighed, licking my lips.
"You could do so much better. . ." He trailed off as though he had just realised that he didn't even know my name.
"Rose," I answered before saying in disbelief, "what with you?"
I realised what had came out of my mouth and quickly blabbered before he could say anything, "I did not mean that in a bad way - I know I could do better. It's not like we're together anyway, I mean, he's a dick for sure but he's still your brother and I really think you guys should fix it. I'm sure you have someone who loves you and wouldn't want to see you guys arguing-"
"I do," Vincenzo interrupted, his gave surprisingly softer than before. He sighed, leaning against the counter. "That's why I'm here."
Cris and I exchanged looks before looking at Vincenzo in utter confusion.
"I can't believe I'm saying this but," he hesitated before meeting his brother's eyes. "I'm leaving the mafia and. . .I want you to be the King."
"What?" Cristiano bursted out, his eyes widening as his jaw dropped, staring at his brother in shock. I equally shared the same expression, my face covered with astonishment.
Vincenzo rolled his eyes irritably and nodded. "Yes, I want you to. I. . ." He sighed, looking away. "I messed things up with the love of my life and now it's cost me both of my children-"
Cristiano scoffed, his eyes filled with surprise. "You? Out of all people have kids? Poor things."
Vincenzo glared at him, his gave turning defensive and I noticed that Cris had touched a weak spot. I pushed his arm, giving him a glare for his behaviour.
"I can't see my kids anymore or her until I fix myself," Vincenzo explained, his eyes filled with sorrow. He groaned, rubbing his eyes tiredly and repeating with a sigh, "I can't see my kids."
". . .What did you do so bad that you can't see them?" I softly asked, trying to be as sweet as possible. His eyes opened and he looked into my eyes, shaking his head.
"A lot of things. So many things that just kept pushing me and pushing me away from her and. . ." He sighed, shaking his head again. "She had enough. After spending months - years believing in me. . .she finally had enough. There aren't enough words to describe how foul I was."
I licked my lips, nodding sympathetically. "You must've been a real douche. She wouldn't of taken the kids if it wasn't bad."
He nodded. "That's why I'm leaving the mafia. I need a fresh start with my family and I know that you can't fully leave the mafia but. . .I just need my life back."
It was as though he was thinking of her right in that moment. His eyes shone and he seemed distracted in his own mind. I felt bad for him.
My eyes moved over to Cristiano who sighed, rubbing his eyes. "S-So you want me to take over when you can't even stand me?"
"Listen, mother-"
"You guys need to work this out!" I bursted, standing between them again and glaring at both of them. "You can't see your girl or have him as King until you let go of your grudge." Then I turned to Cris and snapped, "you can't talk to me until you fix things with your brother like you were supposed to months ago!"
"Who says I wanna talk to you?" Cris asked, scoffing although I knew deep down he couldn't last a day without speaking to me. I rolled my eyes and leaned closed, whispering into his ear. "Pillow talk."
I moved away and met his hazel eyes with a small smirk. He cleared his throat and rolled his eyes before giving in.
"Fine. Let's talk in the living room."
While the boys talked things out, I was upstairs getting myself changed. Vincenzo said that as soon as they were done, we had to go which meant that Cris had to make a decision on whether he wanted to be King or not.
Cristiano Rossi, King of the mafia? I couldn't believe it. That would mean that he would be tied into the gang life, controlling a gang.
I couldn't get over it.
I wasn't sure how I felt but it didn't really matter. It wasn't like we were together anyway. I wasn't sure how I felt about his suggestion before Vincenzo came. I didn't think, I just saw him and wanted him automatically.
Everything about him allured me and I couldn't stop thinking about the man in all the wrong ways.
I wasn't sure if I was ever going to be with him again but I was almost sure that I was going to agree to his suggestion. Besides, it was only sex, no feelings attached. I was not going to let him get into my mind.
I changed into a long, black skirt and a pink blouse, combing my hair swiftly and keeping it on one shoulder. I added some jewellery and adding more to my makeup, slipping on some heels.
I wondered what Vincenzo's girl looked like. He must've really loved her. The way his eyes shone whenever he spoke about her, showed his true emotions inside. His eyes reminded me of Cris - his whole face did.
I missed having Cris's love.
It was everything to me.
I sighed, rubbing my lips together as I took some more concealer, hiding the bruises on my neck.
My armour
What am I doing?
MY ARMOUR
I rubbed off the makeup on my neck and arms, my bruises exposed. I exhaled slowly, calming myself.
Beautiful
Strolling downstairs, I was surprised to see Vincenzo and Cristiano laughing on the couch.
A small smile came onto my face as I realised they had fixed their issues. "All good?" I asked curiously, picking up my hand bag and letting it hang on my elbow.
"Yeah," Vincenzo said, his voice a little surprised. His hazel eyes flickered upwards to me. "You?"
I nodded, adjusting my hair. "Well, let's go. I've got a movie to finish when we get back."
~~~
During the car ride, I got to know Cristiano's brother a lot more. I began to realise how similar the two men were to each other although they denied it.
When we finally arrived, we parked on the side of the road and we were outside of a large family home. Vincenzo sighed, turning off the engine and staring at the house in front of us.
"This is it," he whispered, almost to himself as he gazed at the house, his eyes scanning it intently. He rubbed his hands together, looking out in what seemed to be nervousness.
"Hey," I gently said, poking his hard shoulder. "If you're changed like you said, I think the changed you should knock on the door. Times ticking."
He chuckled a little, exhaling slowly before picking up the bouquet of flowers, licking his lips. "Yeah. . .thanks. . Both you."
Then he got out of the car, shutting the door behind him and adjusting his clothes, walking over to the front door. He knocked twice, his back facing us and from where I could see, he fixed his hair, straightening his posture.
Then the door opened.
I groaned. "Why is he so tall? I can't see her!"
Cris snorted, shrugging. After a few moments, Vincenzo entered the house which seemed to be a good sign. The door shut.
Automatically, Cristiano pulled me and I gasped as he practically dragged me onto his lap, my skirt lifting and my legs straddling him.
"Truth or dare."
I rolled my eyes, "dare."
"I dare you to do the weirdest first impression with me."
"What do you mean?" I asked in confusion, staring into his hazel eyes.
"We're obviously going to have to meet her and when we do, our first impression is gonna be weird."
"Hell no."
Cristiano smirked, sighing dramatically. "Okay, well, you do know what the forfeit is?"
I raised an eyebrow and he continued with a chuckle. "Tickles."
I shrieked as his hands tickled me, my body wriggling around. I bursted out laughing, squealing and begging him to stop as my hands tried to push his away but it wasn't working at all; the man was too strong.
"Okay! Okay!" I exclaimed, shrieking again as he tickled me. "Stop! I'll do it!"
He smirked, letting me go as I breathlessly glared at him, folding my arms.
"You know you love me," he playfully said though his sentence caused me to tense up a little. I unfolded my arms and put my hands on his shoulders to balance myself.
His eyes dropped to my lips and I leaned in slowly, pressing my lips against his. His hand rested below my ear, his thumb caressing my cheek. I ran my fingers down his chest, sliding my hand upwards and back onto his shoulder. He pulled me closer until there was no space left between us and I could feel the beating of his heart against my chest.
"You guys better not be making babies in my car - I just got it cleaned too!"
I pulled away, gasping softly as my head turned and there was Vincenzo looking into the car window, an unimpressed look on his face.
"I take it, it went well?" Cris asked, his hands on my hips.
Vincenzo rolled his eyes at his brother. "We'll see. She wants to see you."
So, we both got out of the car and I fixed my clothes as we went into the house.
When my eyes landed upon the woman, they expanded automatically. I was amazed as to how beautiful she looked; her hair, her eyes, her figure, her lips, her cheekbones, her skin. Everything about her was flawless and she looked like an angel.
"My, my, my," Cris said, his eyes running up and down her body as I remembered the stupid dare I was supposed to do. "Are you sure you wanna to with him? I can offer so much more."
"Shut up, Cris," I said, slapping the back of his head and inside, I felt like laughing.
"Sorry, but she's sexy as hell," he admired, as Vincenzo rolled his eyes irritably. I glanced over at the woman before forcing myself to say, "so I'm not?"
Cris rolled his eyes and surprised me by grabbing me and crashing his lips onto mine and started a full on sexual kiss.
Oh, I'm gonna kill you
Our tongue kiss finished after Vincenzo snapped his brother's name for his attention.
I distinctively gave Cris a glare before taking out my pocket mirror and reapplying my lipstick.
"Mia, this is my older and annoying and irritating and arrogant-er and stupid-er and uglier-"
"Hello, Mia," Cris introduced, shaking her hand. "I'm Cristiano, I'm this screw-ups older and hotter and better brother." Vincenzo scoffed. "Enchante, mademoiselle sexy."
Mia coughed abruptly, moving her hand away, her eyes wide as she looked at Cristiano in shock.
Yeah, you get used to his behaviour
"The reason why you probably haven't heard from me is because I was a dick to your fućkboy-"
"Boyfriend," Vincenzo corrected in a lower tone. Cris rolled his eyes, "fine. Boyfriend and left. But I'm back now and if you want, we could-"
I slapped Cris's head again , enjoying my opportunity. He groaned as I smiled at Mia, saying, "hi, I'm Rosalia but you can use me Rose. I'm of dating this playboy - sort of anyway."
Sex dating
She smiled, replying, "it's nice to meet you, Rose."
"Yeah, we're dating but there's room for one more?" Cris said suggestively, wriggling his eyebrows and giving her a playful look. Mia shook her head with a smile, her cheeks reddening.
Aw she's so cute!
Then I heard a baby cry and I looked around, realising that it was coming from a monitor.
"Um. . .I'm gonna go check on him," Mia said, awkwardly, keeping her eyes away from Vincenzo and turning, leaving the kitchen.
"Damn, she's got a nice ass," Cris whispered and I rolled my eyes at him, sighing.
Vincenzo exhaled roughly, raking his hand through his hair and shaking his head to himself. "She's never gonna take me back, is she?"
"Have hope," I disagreed, giving him a kind smile. "She's totally missing you."
"How do you know?" Vincenzo curiously asked, his eyebrows raising in surprise. I rolled my eyes again. "I just know. It's her eyes. I think you should go upstairs and talk with her. Alone."
Vincenzo hesitated, giving me a weary look. "Are you sure? What if she wants space?"
"You guys haven't been together for months, I'm sure she's had enough space."
He chuckled before nodding. Thanking me, he turned and left the room, going upstairs. I sighed, my eyes meeting Cristiano's who seemed lost in his own thoughts.
"What?" I softly asked, a small chuckle leaving my mouth as I realised how intensely he was gazing at me.
"Nothing. I just really love you."
I sighed, going to the monitor and turning it off so no one could hear us. Licking my lips, I met his eyes again and told him. "Cris, I just can't. But I'm fine with what you suggested earlier."
He nodded, understanding. I awkwardly stood there, waiting for him to say something.
"I wanna make a sandwich. I'm hungry."
"Same. Mia, have you got any cheese? I'm starving!"
