Team Battle!

Your POV

Today was the day. Any minute now, the Bey Club would arrive and we would do a team battle. I could hardly wait to face all of those beys!

'Looks like their late, huh?' sniped Yugo. 'Great work ethic.'

As if on cue, the Bey Club emerged, panting, but smiling.

'Here they come,' grinned Xander. Valt grinned back and bounced to Xander.

'We made it!' cheered Valt. 'Where you waiting long? We are ready to settle the score!'

'Yeah, that's the spirit!' chuckled Xander.

'We're totally psyched 'cause this is the first time we've done a team battle together...you are in for it!'

'What, never? Dude, team battles are a whole other beast,' gaped Xander. Then he smiled. 'You're gonna love it, I guarantee.'

------------

'Alright then. Let the battle between the Sword Flames and Bey Club begin.'

After Xander had explained how King of the Court works, each team huddled in together.

'The order will be Ukio, Yugo, me then  (y/n),' explained Xander.

'What? No fair,' I protested. 'I hardly ever get to battle, always being last.'

'But that's because your our strongest,' smiled Ukio. 'And it has to be that way, so you can stop anyone from beating you.'

'So, I'm like a backup plan?'

'Pretty much,' smirked Yugo.

'Great. Just great,' I grunted.

---------

It was Xander vs Valt. It was obvious who would win, meaning I wouldn't get a chance to battle.

But I didn't expect how Valt would lose. Sure he got a point of Xander, but his bey was slowing down more in each battle it partook in. It's movements were also off.

I frowned. This wasn't Valt. And I know both Shu and Xander could also tell something was off.

It wasn't Valt himself, so that must mean it was Valtryek... but before I say my theory, Shu walked up to him and voiced my theories.

'I reckon Valtryek is trying to awaken.'

I walked up to Valt. 'That makes two of us.'

'But what does that mean, awaken?'

'You'll have to find that out for yourself,' I said, walking away, but a hand gripped my shoulder.

'And why does he have to do that by himself?' glared Honcho.

'Because he needs to follow his own path and learn independence,' I explained. 'He's getting too much help, and if that continues, he won't have any independence in the beyblade world. That's why most of the top bladers train by them self, like Free de la Hoya, Lui Shirosagi and even Shu and me.'

'Then why don't we test that theory, right here right now,' challenged Honcho. 'Me, somebody who isn't a loner and trains by themself versus you.'

'Challenge accepted.'

' 3 2 1! Let it rip!'

Roktavor went straight into the middle, immediately starting Roktavor zone.

'That won't help you!' I shouted. 'Go for it! Suspend launch!'

It was over. Roktavor hit the spikes and burst.

'Done.'

I walked away.
