Chapter 3
When they arrived, Lisa pushed the door open, and they sat down near the entrance. As their drinks arrived, the sound of the doorbell chiming caught Lilith's attention. She looked up, surprised to see Yoongi again, but this time he wasn't alone—he had friends with him.
She raised her hand to wave and smiled to greet him, but he barely acknowledged her, walking past without a glance.
"What's up with him?" Lilith frowned, watching him walk by as if she didn't exist.
"Did you say something?" Jenny asked, tilting her head toward Lilith.
"Oh, nothing." Lilith replied, her gaze following Yoongi to his seat.
"He's a strange one, you know," Jenny noted, noticing Lilith's interest.
"What do you mean?" Lilith asked, her curiosity piqued.
"He's always with his friends and doesn't talk to anyone else," Jenny explained, glancing over at Yoongi's table.
"He talked to me this morning," Lilith confessed, surprising Jenny.
"Really? That's rare! And he's often out sick. Not just him, but all seven of them—especially on bright, sunny days," Jenny added, making Lilith even more curious about him.
"Here's your order," a waiter interrupted, bringing their food. "Thank you," Lilith replied.
After downing her soda and some snacks, Lilith excused herself to the restroom. On her way out, she bumped into Yoongi again, still a bit annoyed from his earlier coldness.
"Why do I always bump into you?" she muttered, her tone slightly exasperated.
"I don't know," he replied, a soft smile appearing, "maybe it's fate?" His eyes held that familiar warmth, easing some of her frustration.
"Oh, so now you can speak?" she replied, raising an eyebrow and tilting her head.
"Sorry, I didn't notice you earlier," he said, trying to ease the tension.
"Yeah, right." She rolled her eyes and started to walk past him. Suddenly, he grabbed her wrist and turned her back around. As he held her hand, she noticed his breathing quicken, his gaze empty, almost as if he were staring into nothing.
"A-are you okay?" she asked, waving a hand in front of his face.
"Huh? Yeah, everything's fine." He released her hand, looking dazed, and walked off in shock.
"What was that all about?" she thought, but she shrugged it off and returned to her friends.
As she trailed behind him, she noticed him speaking to his friends, and suddenly, all their eyes turned toward her. They stopped what they were doing and left the place together. The last one turned and gave her a hard, unreadable look.
"Did he seriously leave because of me? So childish," she thought, shaking her head in disbelief before taking a sip of her soda.
Eventually, it was time to head home. She said her goodbyes to her friends, and they went their separate ways. But as Lilith walked, she couldn't shake the feeling of being watched. Was she losing her mind?
Alone on a quiet street, she suddenly felt a hand cover her mouth with a cloth. The scent of chloroform filled her senses, and her legs began to weaken. She struggled, trying to kick, but it was no use as the person dragged her into a dark alley.
