His gaze was captivating—dark brown eyes that seemed to see right through her, and soft pink lips parted slightly.

He extended his hand to help her up.

"Thank you," Lilith said with a smile, caught staring at him without realizing.

"Let me help you pick up your things." He bent down, snapping her out of her daze.

"I'm sorry," she murmured, bowing slightly, only to bump her head against his. She winced, pressing a hand to the spot and gritting her teeth in pain.

"Oh no... Are you okay?" he asked, looking at her with concern.

"Yes, I am. Why am I such a klutz?" she replied, meeting his eyes with a sheepish look. "Are you okay?" she asked in return.

"Don't worry about me, I'm fine." He smiled, handing her the bag with her groceries.

Lilith noticed how dark it had gotten and suddenly felt anxious. "I'm sorry, I have to go." She took the bag from his hands.

"Thank you. Hope to see you around." She waved before heading back home.

The next morning arrived quickly, and Lilith found herself standing outside her new classroom, waiting for the teacher to call her in for introductions.

"You can come in now," the teacher said, and Lilith walked to the front, cheeks slightly flushed as she faced her classmates.

"Hi, I'm Lee Lilith. Nice to meet you." She lifted her head, scanning the room, and in the distance, she spotted the boy from last night. A small smile appeared on her face, but it vanished quickly as the teacher began to speak.

"You can sit down on the empty seat next to the window." She said as she was walking to her desk, taking some papers to get the class started.

As Lilith walked to her seat, she glanced over at the boy. "Hi again," she whispered as she passed by.

The boy followed her movements and replied, "Hey." A small smile appeared at the corner of his mouth.

"I'm Lilith," she said, taking out her notebook and pen. The boy chuckled softly.

"I know, I heard you. My name's Yoongi. Min Yoongi."

"Sorry, I don't know why I repeated that." She laughed quietly.

Their attention shifted to the teacher, but Lilith stole glances at Yoongi now and then, happy to see him again.

After school, Lilith had already made a couple of friends, Lisa and Jenny. She was about to head home when they stopped her.

"Lilith, wait up!" Lisa called, running to catch up while Jenny walked more casually.

"Want to come with us to grab something to eat?" Lisa asked, looping her arm through Lilith's and pulling her along.

"Sure, but I should call my parents and let them know I'll be home later." Lisa released her so she could make the call. Lilith's parents didn't mind her having some free time, but in a new town, they wanted her to check in often, just to be safe.

On the way to the snack bar, Lilith couldn't shake the feeling of being watched. She glanced around but saw only people minding their own business.
