27. Trust him again?
┈━ ◇ ━┈
The ruckus was real.
"Excuse me, mister, but you can't go on ahead. Let me escort you t-"
"You don't have to." Jungkook tried to push the person out of his way but he realised something.
When he touched the person, who was a male, he felt like the body was too rigid to be a human. Maybe the people in this world were different? It was not the real world after all.
"He won't budge from there." Jimin soon caught up with him.
"What?" Jungkook's eyebrows twitched in confusion.
"He's a robot. An AI."
It was amazing how the robot looked exactly like a normal person. Jungkook couldn't even tell it apart, or maybe he was just in too much panic.
"God damn it?! So, what am I supposed to do?"
"Can't you feel the oxygen disappearing from your lungs, Jk? It's dangerous here, let's get our masks first." Jimin again tucked at Jungkook's shirt, dragging him.
"But-"
"Are you out of your mind? You still have the audacity to argue?" Jimin wasn't having it. He needed to get themselves out of there but Jungkook was being a pain in his ass.
"It won't take long, I swear, I'll be back with them, go on ahead." with that, Jungkook pushed Jimin to the robot who caught him, repeating the words 'let me escort you to the exit, sir.' in an emotionless voice.
Jimin wasn't strong enough to fight a robot which was made from metal. He had no choice but to get dragged to the exit by an AI. Embarrassing much!
Meanwhile, Jungkook was already panting for air, gasping for any little oxygen he could breathe in, but he kept running.
"Suga hyung? Hobi hyung?!!" his words resonated in the almost empty place. It was haunting how empty and lifeless the place felt at that time. He was getting scared now but he kept going.
"Jk? Why are you here?! Go back!!" it was Yoongi. He was squatting down at the ground, trying to find something under the huge shelves.
"Hyung, what the heck are you doing?! Where is Hobi hyung?" he pulled Yoongi up, grasping his biceps as he made the older look at him.
"He... he is helping me find my guitar pick." Yoongi pointed towards the aisle next to where they were standing.
"Guitar pick?! What- why would you-" before he could speak further, he realised which guitar pick he was talking about.
"I can't lose it, Kook. I need it." he was at the verge of breaking down and the worsening level of oxygen wasn't helping at all.
The guitar pick, he got it from his older brother who died a few years ago, but considering the era they were in right now, it must be a lot of years ago. He loved his brother deeply, they were very close and his death had taken a toll on Yoongi back then. If it wasn't for the last gift he left for Yoongi, which was the guitar pick, he wouldn't be the same anymore. It was extremely important to him.
"Okay, calm down, yeah? I'll help look for it." Jungkook assured him, turning around to start looking for the mentioned little thing.
"Yoongi-ah!! I think I found it-"
"Really?" as soon as they heard Hobi's voice, they rushed to find him.
"Let me do it." Yoongi pushed Hobi out of the way, crouching down on the ground as he pushed his left hand under the metal shelf, trying to get his fingers on the pick.
"I can't-" Yoongi chocked out the words, finding it more and more difficult to breathe while fumbling around for the guitar pick.
It was a little strange. It shouldn't be too hard as the space between the floor and the shelf wasn't too narrow, but the more Jungkook looked at it, the more it felt... awkward.
"Hyung...? Why are you using your left hand? It will be easier with the right one!" he spoke, more to himself than to the others.
That's right, Yoongi was right handed. Why was he using his left hand?
The time was running out. Jungkook's eyes were already starting to feel hazy. The stars were dancing in front of his eyes, vision getting blurry. He clenched them shut, only to open it once again. His mouth was agape, slightly gasping for air as his eyebrows knitted together.
"Kook, are you alright?" Hobi asked him, catching his arm to support him.
Of course, he is not!
"Suga hyung, let's get out of here, please?" he pleaded, even though he found his eye sight back to normal for a while, he was sure that it will get worse anytime soon.
"I can't go without my pick." Yoongi also wasn't doing any well, but he was persistent.
"Hyung?! We can come back again with some help-" then it struck him. Yoongi was still using his left hand, not listening to Jungkook. Even if this wasn't the real world, everything should still be the same. They were just in the future, it wouldn't change Yoongi from a right handed person to a left handed one.
This was a dream. A nightmare to be precise.
Jungkook remembered how Yoongi had mentioned to him before about his nightmares after his brother's death. He gradually got over it, but there were still some occasional nightmares he had to suffer from. In these dreams, many things were reversed, like letters in the book and how people usually used their hands, etc.
"You sure are smart, are you not, sweetheart?" Jungkook jolted awake. He was already awake but he felt more energised for some reason. The voice rang inside his head. It didn't seem like anyone else heard it either.
"That piece of vampire doesn't leave me for a second, huh?!" he muttered, but he had more important matters to tend to.
"Hyung! Suga hyung, look at me." he called out, leaving the grasp of Hobi and grabbed Yoongi's shoulder. "You need to wake up."
"Hyung? Do you hear me? Please wake up, right now." it sounded super strange to his own ears.
Hobi slumped down on the side, leaning his back on the shelves, eyes half open as he breathed deeply with struggle.
Jungkook quickly got up, rushing to Hobi as he tried to shook him awake. His eyes found Yoongi again, who was now looking back at them. His usual cold eyes were damp with tears now and his expressions were anything but normal.
"Suga hyung, it's alright okay? You just have to wake up from this nightmare. You can do it." the desperation dripped from Jungkook's voice, gripping Yoongi's consciousness as he tried to understand the situation.
Can he though? Did he even know how to wake up from the nightmare?
"Guys!! What are you still doing here? Get the fuck out of here, right now!! I can't find our masks, but we can still get some help if we get out of here."
"Jimin, Jimin!" Jungkook felt the rays of hope radiating, as if he saw angels in Jimin.
"Help him get out of the trance. Get him to move. Anyhow!!" Jungkook yelled out, still holding Hobi who was at the verge of passing out. He wasn't sure why he wasn't affected too much by the weakening oxygen but he couldn't care less about it.
Jimin, a bit confused, yet got the assignment right. For the first time! And Jungkook was more than happy that Jimin didn't ask many questions.
"What should I do?! What should I-" as if the imaginary light bulb of idea turned on above Jimin's head, he leaped for Yoongi who was sitting on the ground.
"Hyung! Yaah, are you just going to keep staring into space? I'm dying here." he screamed right into Yoongi's ears, but he wasn't fazed at all.
Unbelievable! Jimin thought and attempted again, still got no response from Yoongi.
"Can you do one thing properly, Jimin? Please, just for once!" Jungkook pleaded him, stressing Jimin out even more.
"God!! Fuck it!" he yelled again, which was also enough to bring Yoongi back but the next second, his lips were pressed against Yoongi's frozen ones. Hands firmly holding Yoongi's cheeks.
Just a second was enough to make Yoongi's eyes go wide as he sprang up on his feet.
"What the fuck?" Yoongi gaped at Jimin in horror.
"I had no choice-" Jimin put his hands up in surrender, gulping at the sensation on his lips which was still fresh.
"Let's just go!" Jungkook helped Hobi up as Jimin joined him too. He didn't have time to try and make Yoongi wake up from this nightmare. Getting out of this place first should be the better option.
"I can do it, you handle Suga hyung." Jungkook didn't stop to look back as he quickly ran towards the exit with Hobi in his arms.
There was no time to be awkward. Jimin hurriedly dragged Yoongi out of the shop.
"Sir, are you okay?" it was the robot again. Good thing was that he had a few oxygen masks in his hand.
Jimin gave him a sweet smile, "Aw, aren't you a cute little piece of shit?" snatching the masks from his metal-strong hands.
Well, he wasn't wrong for lashing out at the robot. He didn't need Oxygen to survive and yet he did nothing to help them, but, he couldn't blame him entirely. How could he compare him to humans? Even humans wouldn't help in a situation like this, at a price of their lives.
"Get over here." Jungkook called him, only then he shifted his attention from the robot or he would have gave him a punch or two. Though it would only hurt him.
They got the oxygen masks and enough oxygen to make it to their apartment, all thanks to the robot. The situation wasn't getting any better though. If they stayed there any longer, it will be harder to go back home without any problems.
The police would be there soon and answering all the questions must be a very tiring process, plus they were short on oxygen too.
Hobi was still feeling a bit worn out so he was already in the car. Everyone soon hurried inside as well and took off towards home.

"Are you awake yet?" the very familiar honey-like voice stirred him awake from his sleep.
"Huh? Am I back already?" Jungkook opened his eyes, sitting up on the soft mattress.
He would be lying if he said that he wasn't disappointed even just a little. He wished to spend some more time with his friends but it didn't last long.
Jungkook was on the same bed, in the same room. It was Taehyung's room and he was sitting so close to him, on the same bed.
"You did a great job, sweetheart. Well done." Taehyung's hand gently, very gracefully raised up and patted Jungkook on the head with tenderness.
The praising words that reeked of sweetness melted any trace of anger that was in Jungkook's heart. Instead, it thumped louder with an unknown feeling.
Oh, how he loved being pampered and taken care of! He wouldn't admit it himself though.
So, he scoffed, harshly swatting Taehyung's hand away, who in response just smiled at him.
"You have really done a great job this time. Should I praise you with a gift?" his eyes shifted downwards on Jungkook's face.
Jungkook blinked several times, hearing the sirens go off in his head.
"W-what do you mean?" his words slurred, embarrassed and feeling humiliated for no reason under Taehyung's gaze.
It was difficult to describe what he was feeling but one thing was for sure that his ears felt hot. Really hot, as if they were steaming.
"What do you think?" Taehyung only smiled larger, worsening Jungkook's situation.
He put a hand on Taehyung's chest, pushing him a little and could finally breathe after he was out of the way.
"I was only talking about taking you somewhere. I believe, you would like to see what I am about to show you."
Listening to Taehyung's words, his curiosity built up. Was it something good? Or another trap? He wasn't sure if he can trust him once again.
