12. Following you, my prey!

The massive building that stood in front of them, their eyes low-key unnerved, sweaty hands clasped together as they breathed in the dusty air through their trembling lungs and then took a step inside when the gates opened.
The gates looked really old and rusty, like they had been abandoned and unused for years. The old metal creaked and the door sounded like the metal was twisting and churning to the maximum. It was hard to explain but the sound itself brought their hair to stand on end with fear; possibly not literally but you can sense their emotions right now.
"Don't let go of my hand," Jungkook whispered, eyes closing shut for a second to inhale deeply before they stepped inside for real. He felt Yoongi squeeze his hand as a sign of encouragement and they moved forward.
Jungkook was in awe when he finally landed his eyes on the interior of the mansion. It was not just a regular building but more like a castle. As far as he could see, the ceiling was curved, starting from the left as he slowly looked up, when his eyes reach straight above him, it got more and more eerie and dark with small to no sunlight reaching the top, and then to his right, it curved back to straight wall.
The chandelier was huge, small and crystal clear dazzling rock like ornaments were attached to it as it dangled above his head but it was too far above on the ceiling. It glimmered with dark yellow and orange lights, yet, the area around it was dark and gloomy.
"Hyung..." he turn to look at his side, voice gentle not to make much noise.
He was taken aback, eyes wide and not focused as he looked around when he found himself alone. Where did his friends go?
"Hyung," he called out again, this time, a little louder. He started to yell out everyone's names now, but, much to his surprise, not a single thing moved. It was like the air around him had stopped moving, only flowing in and out of his lungs.
His eyes frantically searched every corner of the room he was standing in, even without much light, he could see his surroundings clearly but no one was there. How was it possible? They were together, all this time.
"Surprised?" Taehyung's voice resonated throughout the whole mansion. Jungkook couldn't forget this voice, not anymore. He recognised him quickly and looked around, searching for a certain vampire with the victorian shirt.
"What the hell do you want me to do now?!" he shouted, his breathing uneven.
"Play a game, of course." Taehyung emerged from the far corner of the room. He was coming down the stairs as his shoes clicked on the tiles.
Were the stairs always there?
"Where did my friends go?" Jungkook asked, his own voice echoing in the calm room.
"With my friends." Taehyung answered shortly.
"Huh?" Jungkook was getting pissed off by Taehyung's calm behaviour.
"You are here to play a game, aren't you?" Taehyung stepped closer to him, now Jungkook could fully see him in all his glory.
The familiar locks of hair tucked behind his left ear, are not parted from the middle today, and the right side stays free, falling on his forehead, giving him a clean yet messy look.
"They already started playing and you, somehow, still seem to be stuck here." a single, calm sigh escaped Taehyung's mouth and he continued, "I wonder why..." his words trailed off.
"Cut to the chase, will you?" Jungkook chimed in, growing impatient.
"Patience, young boy. You know what it is? Learn from the example standing in front of you at least?!" Taehyung's eyes shifted from calm to sharp. It was just a swift move, not even much visible to normal human eyes but Jungkook could sense it. His shimmering eyes were not the same anymore.
"Just because I am standing here, close to you, very calmly, does not mean that I am actually calm." that made Jungkook shudder, he fould himself silent, without a word coming out. Meanwhile, Taehyung trudged closer to him and he was unable to move for some unknown reason; he couldn't figure it out.
"Do you even know how hard it is?" Taehyung raised his hand, moving it closer to Jungkook's face as the lad grew more anxious. "for me to keep restraining myself... from touching you?" his lips formed a smooth smile and that was when his hand reached out to touch Jungkook's cheek.
Jungkook let out a soft gasp at the cold touch. However, his feet stayed glued to the ground.
Taehyung's fingers felt like an ice cube placed on his skin as he trailed them down his chin, grasping his jaw in his hand and forcefully yanked his face closer to his own. Jungkook grunted, cheeks squeezed, eyes enraged.
The way Taehyung's eyes trailed down from his eyes to his nose and then to his lips, his gaze lingering there for a second before he shifted it to his left and right, scanning his face with a subtle yet sinister looking smile while his hand continued to hold his face closer.
Jungkook couldn't feel Taehyung's breath on his skin. He was not breathing. He wondered if his breath felt warm or was it as cold as his touch? He found himself seeking to know more about Taehyung.
He was losing control over his rational brain. He needed to stop looking at Taehyung's eyes. He needed to stop. He had to save his friends.
"Leave- don't touch me." he managed to speak, trying hard to maintain his voice so it wouldn't betray him and crack in between his words. That would be an embarrassment!
"Sure," Taehyung's eyes only glimmered even more as he sensed fear in Jungkook's voice even after all the efforts of Jungkook to hide it inside him.
"Let's play a fair game, shall we?" Jungkook stood straight. Feeling weak was something he definitely couldn't afford right now.
"Promise not to hurt any of my friends. As we agreed, if and only if I lose the game, you can have your way with me, not my friends." Jungkook put his point straight.
Taehyung closed his eyes for a moment, looking down as a chuckle erupted from the pit of his stomach. He let himself laugh freely without any worries as Jungkook looked at him, worried and scared for a second.
"What can you do?" he continued to let out soft chuckles, "what can you do if I break the promise, Jungkook?" he eventually stopped laughing and looked at Jungkook.
"I k-know you can't harm so many people at once. Don't you love to keep a low profile?" Jungkook's tongue betrayed him but he tried to stay calm. After witnessing Taehyung laugh, like he didn't feel mercy at all, he sure had a reality check.
"You never fail to amaze me." Taehyung's smile was back. The amusing one; indicating that he was enjoying playing with Jungkook.
"Fine," Taehyung put his hand behind his back, "I promise not to hurt them unless really necessary." he stepped aside, letting Jungkook see behind him.
Jungkook was just about to ask him what he had to do now when he heard some voices coming from ahead of him.
There's... an opening at the end of the room? As much as he remembered, the mansion was just a closed building. Why was there an opening right in front of him?
He squinted his eyes, the mild sun-rays coming from far end of the room indicated that there was a way out of the house from there. So, was he supposed to get out now?
"What are you waiting for?" Taehyung spoke once again, moving his hand, showing Jungkook the way.
He could still hear the voices, they were faint but, as he took a couple of steps forward, it became prominent, to the point when he reached the door, the sunlight was blinding his eyes and he could practically listen to the screams of terror from the woods.
He still sensed Taehyung behind him.
"What are you doing?" he turned back to him.
"Following you, my prey!" Taehyung searched for new expressions on Jungkook's face.
Jungkook rolled his eyes at him, not caring if he upset the vampire by doing so.
Taehyung was satisfied as he watched Jungkook roll his eyes and turn around to continue walking inside the forest.
Suddnly, humans were so interesting to him. Or... was it just because he was attracted to Jungkook's scent and blood?

The immense headache was too much to bear which made Hobi open his eyes. He found himself laying down on the ground, above him were tall trees, full of life yet something about them felt creepy. He sat up, suddnly aware of his environment.
Wasn't he inside the mansion with everybody?
He grabbed his head, eyebrows knitted together as he stood up, wobbling on his feet and tried to understand what was happening. His ears rang with intensity, clouding his brain with confusion.
"Start walking," a voice inside his head commanded as he started walking mindlessly.
His head felt heavy but bearable enough to understand his surroundings now.
The ringing in his ears only got closer and louder as he had to close his eyes and take a couple of deep breaths before he could open them again. He stopped walking, not sure what to do.
As soon as he opened his eyes again, his hands were shaking, trembling; just like how their house was, because of the tremors. His breath came out in shortened parts of air puffing out in a haze, his hands flew to his face, gripping his forehead tightly as he blinked his eyes rapidly, trying to remove the clouds around his brain that seemed to be stopping him from thinking properly.
He didn't dare look around, clutching his chest with one hand as he gulped, scared. His vision, even after being blurry, he could see the large space in front of him. He was standing on a small, thin part of land and no matter where he travelled his eyes, he could feel himself on top of the world. Like, everything was beneath him.
He had a fear of heights.
His eyes could only see the things that were far beneath him which made him feel like he was standing on a tall place where he had nowhere to go.
He screamed, not knowing what to do, he fell back on his butt and shook his head vigorously, trying to get away from there but he ilwas scared to move and fall down.
All he could see was, deep ditches all around him, as if he was standing on a rock, alone and aloof with no one in sight and nowhere to go. It was his worst nightmare coming alive.
Hobi, who was a cheerful person and always surrounded by one or another person, it was not without any reason. Being around people helped him stay calm and feel safe.
Now that he saw no one, he was in a panic and on top of that, he was surrounded by nothing but endless ditches or cliffs. He broke out in a cold sweat.
Inside his mind, that seemed like the end of his life.
He needed to get a grip. He had to get out of here. If only he remembered what they all talked before entering the mansion; If only he was able to think properly, he could get a grip.
He felt his consciousness slipping away and his head became dizzy with small stars dancing around in front his eyes.
"Don't be scared!!" a distant voice snapped him out of the trance but he was still feeling unwell.
He had his eyes shut tightly and his heartbeat was high, the sound of it banging on his eardrums making everything worse.
"Get up," again, the voice sounded closer to him than before.
He mustered up all his courage just to open his eyes and peeked from the slit of his eyelids.
No one could be seen, he was still alone. This didn't help his anxiety and he grew more scared. His eyes started to brim with tears. You might think that he should have been more brave and there was no need to cry but while being trapped with no possible exit in sight, it sure was terrifying.
"Get up!!" it was a scream this time. Very clear and loud enough for him to confirm that it was not an illusion.
"Wh- who is it?" he called out, tears running down his now stained cheeks.
