A day later, you were on the Falcon with the three droids, Rey, Poe, Rose, and Finn. You were sitting on your own, quiet and listening to Rose and Finn argue somewhere close by in the ship. But it didn't matter.

You were wringing your hands, thinking of Ben. Your leg was bouncing nervously. You were nervous. When had you ever been nervous before?

You were completely, completely, completely destroyed by this happening to you and Ben. That was clear to you.

Rey jumped to lightspeed and then gave full control of the ship to Chewbacca. She got out of her seat and walked to you.

"We'll be arriving shortly," she said. "Here are some clothes. It's a cold planet." She handed you a stack of fluffy articles of clothing.

"Thank you," you whispered.

"So what are you going to do? What will you say?"

"I'll tell him to come home," you said.

"What if he tries to kill you too?" she asked.

You didn't look at her. Tears filled your eyes. Keeping your face void of any emotion whatsoever, you bit your lip.

All you could say was: "I hope he doesn't."

When you landed, he was there. Waiting for you. He had been camped here for two days now. It was the first place he'd come after he got off the planet you'd both been living on together. This snowy, desolate planet.

And he was waiting for you.

Your heart was lodged in your throat. You wanted to cry as you saw him in the distance, watching you.

You started to walk in his direction.

Finn, hunched behind a pile of snow, grabbed your wrist. You looked at him.

"What happens if this goes south?" he asked. "Because it is going to go south."

"Then you all need to run," you said. "Don't try to fight the Knights of Ren. You won't be able to defeat them. Okay?"

Finn inhaled and then exhaled, a puff of air exiting his lips. "I can't protect you once you're out there."

"I know," you said, nodding. You furrowed your eyebrows. "I don't expect you to." You swallowed hard and twisted your wrist out of his grasp. You took his hand instead. "I want to thank you, Finn, for taking me under your wing yesterday and keeping me safe. You are a wonderful man and a hero. The First Order never could deserve you. The Resistance suits you." You tightened your grip on his hand, and let go.

"Goodbye, Rey," you said, and she gave you a sad look. "I am deeply sorry for all of the trouble I've caused you before."

The snow crunched against your boots as you walked down the hillside, straight on towards the Knights of Ren. Each held a different weapon in their grip; each weapon looked horrifying.

You held your chin up high.

While you'd hoped to see the face of your husband, he was covered by his old helmet - pieced together in fragments, outlined in glowing red. He looked inhuman. Frightening. Cold.

"Ben," you said, and he turned to look at you, slowly. The Knights raised their weapons. You spoke louder. "Kylo."

"Good, speak my true name," he replied.

You stopped about ten feet away from him. You lowered your fluffy hood and let your hair blow around your face with the snow and the wind.

You looked at him, eyes sad.

"My love, come home."

"I am home," he declared. "It is you who has strayed."

"No," you whispered. You stepped forward twice. The Knights shifted, weapons now pointed at you. You only stared at Kylo. "Are you going to let them kill me?"

He was silent.

You kept walking, clenching your hands into fists at your side, arms straight, chin up-

The Knights moved to attack you.

"You won't let them do this to me," you said.

"I wouldn't wait to find out," Kylo said.

You took another step.

"Come home," you pleaded.

"Join me," he countered. "Get back where you belong."

"Where I belong is by your side, somewhere far away. Far away from the Order... from the Rebellion... from the Sith." You held out your hand. "Come on."

Yet again, he did not say a word.

"Who is doing it to you?" you asked. "Who is making you do this?"

"My eyes were opened by someone far wiser than Snoke," he said. "Far wiser than you."

"Who is it?" you asked.

"Ben-"

One more step.

"The Emperor is wise," he said.

"The Emperor?" you asked, shock filling you.

He said, "You are not wise for coming here."

The Knights jumped forward to attack. You gasped as one of them swung their weapon. You ducked at the last second, and as you fell to your knees in the snow, you heard behind you a shout-

"'___! Get away from there! Run!"

You turned. Finn was running towards you, sprinting, a look of fear and disgust on his face.

"Finn-" you started, getting cut off as one of the Knights sliced his blade towards you.

The tip of it, sharper than any blade you've ever seen, cut through your coat sleeve and several layers of your skin. A cry of agony spilled from your lips. You looked up from your cut to your husband, who was just staring at you as you cupped your hand over your wound. You felt the warmth of the blood.

One of the Knights kicked you from behind. You fell forward in the snow and then lifted your head, staring in shock as they prepared to bring the blood-stained blade down on you.

Finn, gripping a huge hunk of stone in his hands, knocked the Knight to the ground. You sat up all of the way, looking at him in surprise.

He turned to Kylo. Finn was fuming, which confused you. He was a nice guy, but he was putting himself in harm's way for your sake.

Why?

"You let them hurt your wife like that, you coward?" he screamed. He threw the rock at Kylo's helmet, knocking him to the snow and denting the black surface that protected his temple. "Let's go!"

You scrambled to your feet, suddenly horrified at the thought of any of these Knights hurting Finn, who has just put his life on the line for you.

Rey, Rose, and Poe were sprinting through the snow, screaming for their friend to stop, to stand down, to run.

The Knights were beginning to fight them and they were unprepared for this.

Your blood was dripping onto the white snow and you were dizzy at the sight of it.

If Finn kept trying to fight for you, he was going to die. Both he and his friends were about to go against the most powerful warriors in the entire galaxy.

You were suddenly up and you grabbed his arm as he hovered over Kylo, about to bring the stone down on him again. "Finn, no!" Tears were streaming down your face and you tugged on his elbow. "We have to go now."

"I'm finishing this," Finn said.

"You're going to get yourself killed!" you said.

"You aren't going anywhere," Kylo said to you, and he was on his feet, lightsaber ignited. You yelped as he jabbed it at you. Finn shoved you out of the way.

Kylo swung at Finn, but before he had a chance to slice across his stomach, he ducked out of the way, launching forward, arms wrapping around Kylo's waist as he threw him against the snow.

Finn got back on his feet and readied his fist. But Kylo was up, and he was faster, and he had Finn now, pressing him against his chest, wrapping his arm around with throat, squeezing tight, making his eyes pop out as he tried to fight back-

Looking around, you tried to find something, anything, anything at all that could help you. Your eyes spotted the dark spot in the snow-

You grabbed Kylo's lightsaber and ignited it.

You didn't want to kill him, the love of your life, your husband and best friend, but you weren't going to let him kill Finn, the man who had just risked his life for yours-

"Finn!" you screamed, and waves of energy poured out of you.

With the Force rippling off of you, you froze the Knights of Ren in their places and shoved Kylo far away. He landed hard on his back and you approached him, lightsaber raised, red illuminating across the snow and against your skin.

Your eyes were flashing with anger.

He was on his back, arms propping himself up.

"Take your mask off," you said, teeth clenched. "Take your mask off and look at me, Ben."

He did.

And you stared into his sickingly yellow eyes. The eyes of a man you no longer knew.

Taking in a staggering, shaky breath, you clenched your jaw. "I won't kill you," you said, "because I won't do to you what you have done to me. I want you to live with this torment and loneliness, Ben Solo, because one day you will realize the extent of your pain. And until then, you are going to stay away from me, and away from the Finn."

"The Resistance will end, just as it should," he said.

"Then you'll die," you said. "But it won't be me that kills you. I am not a woman of the Resistance. I am not a woman of the First Order. I am not anything anymore." You turned the lightsaber off and tossed it at him. It hit his chest and he caught it.

He looked at you.

"Stay away from me, Kylo Ren," you said.

Without any feeling whatsoever in your heart, you turned and looked at Finn, who was sitting on the ground. You held out your hand for him and he took it, standing up to his feet. Rey, Poe, and Rose were standing in front of the Knights, weapons in their hands, staring in shock at their frozen forms.

"Let's go," you said to Finn.

You didn't look at Kylo as you walked away, leaving them all alive and unharmed.
