Chapter 3- Frozen in Time
As the crew stepped into the front section, they stopped to look around. The church looked newly built, and there was not a spot of dirt anywhere. The cleanliness made the whole area glisten.
The ceiling had wood beams all around it. The crimson walls had paintings of notable Biblical figures. Additionally, the shiny, wooden floor gave off a dizzying effect when looked at long enough.
"Everything is so... new," said Elizabeth.
"If this is the atrium, then what do you think the nave looks like?" asked Sam.
"Probably so beautiful, you feel faint," replied Megyn. With that, the four opened the nearby door to the nave.
Megyn turned out to be correct. The nave, as well as the aisles, looked like a painting that came to life. Out of all the features, though, the most notable one was that it seemed more prominent inside than outside.
"I am so glad I'm recording this as this happens," Kevin remarked. Their experiences would later appear on the podcast website whenever the group went somewhere.
When they reached the altar, they noticed two windows ahead with door-like shapes. The stained glass on them had varying shades of blue and green, almost as if they were trying to represent the Earth.
"Other than the fact that this church seems practically ageless, there's nothing out of the ordinary here," observed Megyn.
"Not yet, at least," said Kevin.
"Still, why is this church supposedly cursed? It's been hard to find anything consistent. Some sources say a disease started here; others say a horrific murder happened," said Sam. "Either way, we need to watch ourselves."
With that in mind, the four decided to stick together. Unbeknownst to the group, they needed to do so if they wanted to escape alive.
