Chapter 4: Sanji's Heart

How the hell am I hurt? (Y/n) didn't even move, Sanji thought to himself, still clutching at his open chest with one hand, the blade poked at his delicate heart. It was a miracle he wasn't dead nor dying at the moment. Still coughing up crimson and a strong desire to keep his lit cigarette clenched tightly between his pearly whites. "I followed Law's advice word for word... I don't under... understand," you heard Sanji's cry of defeat word for word much like his previous comment about the captain of the Heart Pirates, a man of whom knew next to nothing about you. Sanji really was starting intrigue your best interest.

"Oh yeah," you snickered resting your dagger wielding hand upon your hip. As if he were blessed, Sanji felt immediate relief beyond words, no longer suffering from the imaginary blade that once protruded from his chest. "I forgot that Law and Luffy made an alliance not too long ago. Please tell me what that doctor told you, I'd love to hear."

Sanji found your ability to smile in such a position sickening. "Why should I tell you?" Sanji barked in return. "You're out to kill me!"

"No," you smirked somewhat innocently. "I only accepted your challenge. A fight. You win, I join your crew. I win, I haven't decided what I want yet, but killing you has no place in this equation," Sanji knew something was up since the second you put on that sweet puppy dog face that had no place on a serial killer's rotten face. You literally just created a massacre, yet you have no interest in killing one more. Either you had a few tricks up your sleeve, or you really had no interest in killing off Sanji. If the last option really were the answer, he'd love to learn why.

Sanji gripped the hem of his dress coat sleeve, he wipes his mouth spoiling the back of his perfect midnight black coat. "I find that hard to believe," Sanji replied.

"Can't blame ya," you snickered again with a hand to your crimson lips.

"I know I'm against hurting women," Sanji lifted his leg up slowly till his knee lied snug against his open chest. The thin limb became a torch of brilliant orange flames and hazardous smoke. You coughed upon one inhale of said smoke. "But I think I need to make an exception for you..."

"Glad to hear," you licked your lips in a taunting manner, the blade of your dagger brushed up against the backside of your arm into a defensive stance, readied yourself for any and all attacks to come knowing who your opponent was. You won't deny that you were fueling the beast that lived within that blonde cook standing before you. Long have you known that he was a man who succumbs to his own chivalry, it was even a trait you could easily take from his updated Wanted Poster. You wanted to see him lose his composer and hit a woman for a change.

"Sanji looks serious about this," Nami backed away from the battlefield just a few steps, knocking into Zoro who kept Luffy at bay. The redhead watched the two stare each other down with weapons drawn and a blazing fire in their eyes.

"This is gonna get ugly real fast," Usopp whimpered with shaking knees. Chopper nodded as he did so happen to agree to an extent.

Zoro found the coward trio's foolish antics to be almost dishonorable. "I'm truly on the fence about this," Zoro admits, just to get the trio to stop being scared pussy cats.

"Huh?" Nami, Usopp, and Chopper all tilted their heads in unison.

Zoro groaned rolling his eye. Luffy tried to squeeze out of his hold, that was until Zoro caught the trick and bashed his captain over the head with his fist. "The Shitty Cook to this day has never injured a woman, but all at the same time he can't stand it when women get hurt in general. (Y/n) hurt Robin both mentally and physically over the last two years..." A frown was all that remained on Robin's face.

"This isn't going to end well..." Chopper embraced his blue backpack of medical supplies to his chest with a quivering lip and a shallow tear to his chocolate eyes. Knowing very well that someone will need his attention sooner or later.

Since strike one, each and every one of Sanji's kicks were precisely calculated. Fast like bee, with the strength of ten men backing him up. Sanji aimed at your letal dagger, hoping to knock the blade out of your hands just to get an upper hand. You were just lucky to have a steel grip or else your hands would've been shattered by now. It's been a while since the last time you've met such an opponent who was as light on his feet as he was with you. There was almost no openings for attack. Running out of options...

Shit! I can't use my shadow or else I'll get slaughtered, you thought breaking a sweat. Then turning a shallow glance to your dagger. Maybe... Maybe I'm using the wrong weapon...

You were at this point, desperate. Desperate to get an attack in, even if it just meant a graze on his cheek or shaving off a centimeter of his golden hair. You decided to take a cowards approach, with no where else to go, ducking on one of Sanji's easily anticipated high kicks, stumbling away with eagerness leaving a bitter taste in your mouth, and scaling up the nearest tree quickly and with ease.

Sanji found the sudden change of power satisfying. A woman with a higher bounty than his own captain, just ran away with her tail tucked in between her legs. So the Cook stepped up towards the base of the tree, glaring at you from below, with a mildly satisfied grin, breathing heavily, his yellow button up now stained in crimson and never to be the same again. "You have some real nerve to run away. Looks like I win," Sanji boasted, but immediately stopped upon hearing a devilish cackle come from your slightly parted lips.

"Who said I ran away?" You hummed with an entirely different weapon at hand. A rusty link of chain that chimed at the slightest contact. With one hand, you gripped at the air as if crushing an invisible object, and Sanji's body was frozen remained to his spot with the hairs on the back of his neck standing up.

"What the hell?" Sanji cursed, he more than figured out that this sense of restraint was your doing.

"You're an idiot for not following Law's advice."

"What?" Sanji muttered.

"You say Heart Boy gave you advice on how to defeat me, right?" Sanji nods, judging he can't go or do anything else. "He's only ever figured out one of my weaknesses. Quite foolish of you to fight me on a bright sunny day like this," you hopped down from your perch, releasing Sanji from his bind just a split second before latching one band onto Sanji's wrist that connected to your chain. The cook was thrown forward with a bone splintering jerk back to where he first started with a heavy kick to the face. His crew made commentary from afar that showed they could feel his pain. "Are you just gonna lie there in your own blood, or are ya gonna fight me?" You really were getting tired of this one sided fight. Despite the fact the fight had only just begun.

"Shut Up!" Sanji growled from the depths of his chest. Sanji pushed himself off from the grass and to his feet. Completely unexpected, you had no time to react as Sanji gave you a surprise kick to the face. All you saw was black. His foot phased through your entire head, leaving an empty space as if someone blew half of your face off. A dark smoke-like mist repaired the gaping hole. You couldn't feel a thing.

"Logia..." Sanji trailed off. This fight was one sided all along...

"No! That's her evil doppelganger!" Robin panicked. You've came to hate that unnecessarily long word.

"Good guess... But my evil twin can't talk," you wrapped you chain around your wrist to shorten the length and threw Sanji into a nearby tree with all the strength you could muster. You heard the man whimper and hiss with pain. Somehow your feet were planted to the ground, so no matter how much he flailed or yanked on the chain from his end, you went nowhere. Sanji felt helpless in this situation, unable to help himself or do anything about his wrists getting cut up in the process.

How did I get outmatched so easily? Jokes on me for challenging a woman who was offered an Emperor position.

Chopper tugged on Zoro's pant leg. "Can we please help Sanji now?" The little reindeer pleaded with the swordsman.

"This was his challenge and he went against Luffy in order to take this fight all on his own. All we can do is sit here and watch him get his ass handed to him."

Chopper's eyes flooded with tears. "Just like Usopp back in Water 7?"

"Looks to be so Little Man," Franky sighed with Chopper.

When your fun began to slip away, too much of one thing isn't always a good thing, you dropped Sanji upon the hard grass with your chains to dangle at your sides. Silently standing just feet from where he lied, exhausted with his head rested upon the ground, coughing up pools of his own bodily fluids. No doubt his insides were mush at this point, and bones were broken beyond natural healing, even his previous chest wound had opened up even further to a threatening degree. It was like a soldier going into war without protection, his heart was out there, the pulse weakened with each passing second.

This fight was over.

"It was nice fighting you Sanji," your shadow took form from the ground at your feet to a three-dimensional figure of shrouded darkness. You both shared that one red eye that marked your similarities. Your shadow knelt down and picked up Sanji's nearly dead corpse from the ground.

"Leave him alone!" Nami demanded with her climatact at hand.

Brook stepped forward with his cane like swords held firmly within his boney hands. "Can't you see he can't fight anymore!?"

"Cool it," you groaned. "I'm only handing him over to you," you reassured as your shadow made a struggled, weaving walk over to the group of eight with Sanji within it's misty arms. Franky took the honors of taking Sanji back into custody, and Robin didn't waste a second examining your doppelganger.

"Sanji has the potential to defeat me," you proudly admit calling your shadow back to your side. "He's a smart guy I'll admit. He's figured out more about me than Law and Eustass could combined. So when Sanji is healthy enough to take me on again, tell him his offer still stands," The Straw Hats were left with their jaws agape to your hospitable attitude towards them. You shared a glance with you shadow, motioning your head in one direction before walking away without another care for the group. For Luffy however, his eyes were shrouded with darkness no thanks to his Straw Hat.

"Zoro," Luffy, still, called out with a serious voice. "Let me go."

"Sure," Zoro released his hold on Luffy entirely without the need to think twice. Luffy began rolling his arm in circles with one hand perched upon his shoulder with short taunting steps forward. Everyone knew what was bound to happen, like with every antagonist in the past, they were all finished off with one punch to the face.

Usopp bound forward suddenly. "Luffy don't," Usopp caught Luffy's fist within his own. "You saw what she did to Sanji AND she's a logia type. Just leave her alone, we don't need a serial killer like her on our crew anyways," Luffy snatched his fist back without taking most of Usopp's words into account. Not a surprise, but Usopp's words left a mark upon the people around him.

"(Y/n) hurt two of my friends, I'm not even sure if Sanji will live through this. I won't stand for it," Luffy reeled his arm back as it stretched more than a couple of feet behind himself, "Gum Gum Pistol!" The future King of the Pirates released his attack, his fist went hurtling towards you who was just barely in sight after a long while of preparing. Being oblivious to this attack, his fist collided with your back, your entire spine shattered under impact. Falling unconscious with your shadow to let out a wolfish shriek and reside back at your own feet where it once belonged.

"Holy SHIT!!!" Chopper cursed with a hoof to his mouth.

"Your attack should've went right through her," Robin was even at an almost total loss for words. You. Were. Defeated.

"Does it really matter?" Luffy shot glares at his own crew. "We can ask her why my attack worked on her later. Just get Sanji and (Y/n) back to the ship so Chopper can treat them." Nobody moved.

"Even after all of this, you're still going to recruit (Y/n)?" Nami's heart sank once Luffy gave an affirmative nod of his head. "Luffy..."

Zoro stood in between Luffy and Nami with crossed arms. "Don't question Luffy, have you learned nothing from when Franky and Usopp joined us?" Nami had no right to talk anymore. Zoro was right, it was Luffy's word over everyone else's or else she should just leave the crew all together if she truly didn't agree. Shadow Claw (Y/n) the world renowned serial killer who rejected an Emperor position was now a Straw Hat Pirate.
