Chapter 12: Two Perverts, One Boat

Long Chapter heads up!

Your orbs opened up to a cavern of steel. Steel? Why steel of all things? There wasn't a noise to be heard besides the air that entered and escaped your nostrils. There was a sudden realization that your body felt heavy, almost as if drained of all energy you had despite the fact you've just woken up from a long night's slumber. An easy way to put this, was how a devil fruit user would feel after falling into the ocean. Helpless. A dead weight that'd sink and sink in the waters of black without any hope of rescue. Somehow you recognized this feeling above all else, an emotion better known than pain in your happy little world.

Helplessness that you endured for two years, having to gain an immunity to that hell spawned serum the World Government had cooked up for special cases like you while sea prism was the worst tactic to use... At the time. For the equivalent exchange of you remaining years of life, all devil fruit abilities were delayed. You knew nothing good had happened within slumber to feel these effects once again for the first time in months.

"Sanji?" your weakened voice echoed across the room. As if the call didn't make any progress towards the receiver. You didn't bother to look however, since you were unable to move all that well. "L-Luffy?" You remained in bed, tired. "Chopper... Franky?" Your voice was drowned out, until all that would leave was a whisper.

"H-Hello?" You tried to shout, but alas no use. With no other choice but to believe no one at all would answer back, you had to fight your drowsiness to sit up to find the room completely barren except for the bed you lied upon. "What?" You couldn't lift your hands no matter how much effort you threw out into the wind. They were encased in a metal the color of black, chained to the floor on the opposite end of the small room. Hands were useless, all powers negated. This way you couldn't use what combat you already knew to fight back... Quite smart you had to say the least.

"Morning," a masculine voice broke the silence. It was a rather young voice, maybe a man in his early or late twenties who had the dialect of a noble. His voice came from what came to be a small yellow transponder snail sitting upon the wall. Beside that, was a surveillance transponder snail who's eyes were lit up a ghostly red that never left your figure. "Welcome back #1215."

"I have a name y'know," you hissed. You didn't even bother to think before opening your mouth, dread overcame your senses. "When did I... How... No... Luffy and Sanji and the others would never let me get captured."

"You've really grown careless haven't you (Y/n)?" The snail wore a deadpan expression as it repeated whatever the man on the other end had to say.

"Does it really matter?" You growled, "I'm not careless you stupid asshole!" You struggled to reach out and swipe at the snail, but your chains had ran out of reach, as if whoever you captor was knew you'd try to harm his snails.

"Abuse," the man says. "Your body doesn't lie."

"Yeah," you growled again. "Abused by whoever you are and the government!" You grit your teeth fighting against your restraints. "Half of the bones in my body aren't even real let alone my own. I was forced to consume a devil fruit, and my mind was overwritten numerous times and filtered with cravings for bloodlust. Well guess what!" You still tried pulling against the chains, giving up wasn't in your dictionary. "I remember everything you've erased!!!"

"That's true... We have done a few unforgivable things unlike those Straw Hats who've hurt you the most... At least we haven't tried to kill you."

Your breath went from calm to overdrive. "Don't bring my family into this!" How'd the Government even know I joined the Straw Hats? We haven't done anything worth noticing...

"Family?" The man laughed in pure enjoyment. "Does family try to kill each other?"

"Leave them out of this!" You shout again.

"Poison magically made it into your supper? Is that what you want to believe?"

"How..." You fell to your knees. "How did you know about that?"

"For an assassin crafted from the finest tools, you're quite oblivious."

"That poison incident is behind me... I don't care who did it. But If you do anything to me or my crew... I'll find you and make sure to string you up by your own guts!!!"

"All bark and no bite... We've noticed you go after everyone besides the World Government. (Y/n)... We've raised you right."

An blood curdling scream ripped through what was once a peaceful silence heard for miles to come. You tumbled out of bed without a thought, landing upon the wooden floor below. The room seemed to spin on and on, a ringing within your ears that made your vision hazy only to make your state worst it could possibly become. This room, you recognize it from anywhere unlike before, the room in which you slept each and every night and got daily treatments. Your brain refused to click no matter how much life threw itself at you.

This wasn't reality.

"Th-this isn't real," you whimpered getting to your feet just to tumble right back onto your knees.

Sanji came bursting through the door within seconds to come. "(Y/n) what's wrong!?"

"Intruder!?" Brook shrieked standing behind Sanji within the doorway after gathering in just afterwards.

"(Y/n)?" Sanji knelt down before you. The cook watched you carefully as you gave quickened breaths, clutching onto your chest through your shirt, nails digging into your soft flesh.

"Sanji, what's wrong with the gal?" Brook had finally gotten an idea of the the situation but needed a confirmation.

Before Sanji even dared to answer, he reached out gently grabbing one of your hands within his own. You shivered under his touch, flailing which resulted in the blonde learning to keep a distance, if only for a little while. "I think she's having a panic attack," Sanji answered back from what he knew. Sanji frowned knowing he couldn't do much of anything to help. The only way to rid of panic attacks is to let them subside on their own. Even though you were the one suffering, Sanji felt just as pained watching you endure it all. An equivalent to watching his crew writhe in pain to an enemy as hunger stained their eyes for a soul to claim.

Brook held his violin up to rest under his chin, "I'll play some music, maybe it'll calm her down." Sanji nodded his head softly watching his crewmate of bones walk outside with the becomings of what is sure to be a lovely song. However Sanji was sure your ears blocked out everything. Sanji reached out to you once again.

"(Y/n)... Just listen to me okay," you hadn't moved, his hand brushed up against one of your own. Your shrunken eyes shot open, and you bolted out of the sickbay after swiping your dagger from a nearby table. "Shit!" Sanji cursed running after you. However there was no need, you stood right off to the side at the railing of the ship. Calm as ever, a knife impaled your left hand that kept the limb bound to the railing. Crimson pooled beneath your hand, bubbling up upon the back of your hand as you made no attempt to remove the blade. Sanji didn't have a clue as to how to even react at this point.

"(Y/n)," Sanji called out to you again, yet all so scared to come within a few feet radius of you in this crazed state of mind.

"This is reality," you spoke as if you were denying your own self. "I couldn't be happier," you grinned softly. Never have you been happier to have a blade of silver be cast through your body and the tired feeling of blood draining from your body was more a blessing than anything else. It meant you were still living.

"(Y/n), I need to know what's going on," Sanji found your grin offsetting. How could you smile at a time like this?

"Could you give me a hand Sanji?" You asked without faltering, still staring at your hand that shifted from peach to grey by the second. "I can't bring myself to take out the knife," you gladly admit turning your head and exchanging a smile with Sanji. Sanji thought he had seen you happy before, not like this. You looked as if nothing could get you down no matter how hard another would try.

"I... I..." Sanji lost himself in thought, stunned by your calm sincerity. "Y-Yes," the blonde took cautious steps forward, taking the knife into his dominant hand by the handle, and ejected the blade from your flesh after a great tug as the tip of the knife not only went through your entire hand, but lodged deep into the railing of the Sunny as well by no doubt an inch and easily more. Sanji didn't dare to measure. "Let's get you fixed up," Sanji held your wound closed with his own hands to prevent any more blood loss on your end.

"That'd be the smart thing to do," you lightly giggle as Sanji took your hand leading you back to the sickbay.

...

"Mind me asking," Sanji spoke up as he wrapped your hand gingerly with a roll of gauze he took from Chopper's grand array of medical supplies. He wasn't rough, and wrapped your wound not too tight and not too loose. He made sure you were taken care of. "What was that whole episode about?" Sanji glanced up from his work, noticing that you were a bit torn to the sudden mention of it.

"I'd tell you if I could," you admit with your hand cramping up within Sanji's hold.

"Well why can't you tell me?" Sanji asked in return. "Your nightmares are becoming a regular thing now, you... Really should take care of it."

"I know I know..." You turned your head off to the side. "I just can't bring myself to talk about it," you let out a breath wearing a shallow smile. "Brings back too many horrible memories... That I just can't seem to forget."

"Well..." Sanji sighs with a hint of irritation. "I'm beginning to wonder if you have a bad case of post traumatic stress disorder," Sanji knew it was risky to bring that fact up. You tend to take offense to everything now, that was until you didn't even bat an eye or reply back. "You know... PTSD doesn't go away on its own... In fact it's caused when you try with everything you have to forget the bad experience. So If you can't talk about it, can I?"

You were touched that Sanji had went so far as to figure out your cause of stress. "What... What do you mean?"

"Zoro told me quite a bit about you not so long ago, I was wondering if you could confirm what I heard," Sanji reached over to the nearby rolling table, picked out a pair of scissors, and cut your gauze showing he was finished with your minor repair. "(Y/n)?" Sanji groaned, watching as you ran a hand over the tape that kept your gauze from unraveling.

"What'd he tell you?" You groaned but overall your feel was extremely uneasy at best. Sanji could tell you were terrified to hear what he has to say.

"Zoro told me about your past relationship with the World Government, but he doesn't know if whatever it is I'm about to tell you is true or not because it's information he had heard from Mihawk the Warlord," Sanji says as a precaution, however he knew he was in for quite a ride seeing as to how you couldn't respond to such a claim except to nod your head. "To put it simply... At first," Sanji began. "The World Government asked Mihawk to track down and capture you, but Mihawk refused to do so unless he got a reasoning for being given such a request, even threatened to step down as a Warlord of the Sea. So... he got his answer."

"News to me," you sighed. "But I had a feeling."

"Zoro says you used to work under the Warlords under a request by the World Government... So I guess you fed the Revolutionary Army confidential information and the World Government took matters into their own hands and now you run away from the law because of treason," you laughed right into Sanji's face, all at the same time Sanji heard the fakeness in that laugh.

"Only one part of that is the truth," you settled down. "The rest are lies, what the government wants the World to believe."

"You are working for the Revolutionary Army," Sanji spoke with confidence, his smile dropped to a frown as you didn't reply. "Wait... You aren't?" You nod. "You really did used to work for the government?"

"Yup," you purse your lips. "But the Revolutionary Army opened my eyes to the big picture... I should've listened to Dragon."

Luffy's dad? Holly shit... "Please tell me the truth (Y/n)," Sanji sat on the edge of his seat. "Or at least let me play twenty questions."

"How about five questions?" You compromised. "Five questions a day. You savvy?"

"I can agree to that," Sanji grinned.

"You have four questions left... You asked if I was a Revolutionary, and I'm not."

So Sanji asked four different questions and got nowhere. Wasting his last four chances on asking how the Revolutionary Army fit into the picture. That's even if they were in the picture to begin with. Sanji was already picking out tomorrow's five questions. "Hey," you spoke up out of nowhere. "I just realized something."

"And what's that?" Sanji rested his head upon one palm.

"How come only you and Brook came to my side when I woke up?"

"Oh," Sanji coughed to clear his throat. "The rest of the crew are out on the new island. Brook and or Zoro are normally left in charge of the ship whenever we dock, but I decided to stay back and let Zoro go cause I was going to offer if you'd like to go to town as well," touched by the offer you grinned.

"How nice of you," you clenched your injured hand as the feeling of restraint felt weird. "Do you think Chopper'll get mad if I do go to town?"

"Eh... Maybe," Sanji shrugged. "It's been a few days since Chopper put your spine together for a second time, I mean you seem to be doing just fine. If anything he may get ticked that you injured yourself yet again. So I don't see why you can't go to town."

"Then I'm going," you announce taking a stand.

"You're stuck with me though, Luffy's orders," Sanji points out. Not like that proposal wasn't all that much of a bad thing.

"I don't see a problem with that," you weren't even planning to do much of anything on your own anyways. "I just need to get out and take a walk somewhere else besides this ship. This is the longest trip I've been out on the sea. Even with Kid, longest we've gone was a week."

"And you've been with us for about a month or more. However it probably feels more like two weeks for you since you were in a coma for the first two."

"More of a reason to go outside, now shoo!" You batted Sanji on the back until he was no longer in the sickbay. "The second I'm done changing, the second we leave. Got it?"

"G-got it," Sanji confirmed before you closed the door on his face. Sanji's cheeks flared up as he had to motivate himself to leave the door entirely. "I just lied straight to (Y/n)'s face about being stuck with me for the day," Sanji began to sweat, reaching to loosen his tie all the while fanning himself off with his hand.

"She bought it I'm guessing," Brook hummed resting his violin against his knee.

"She didn't even bat an eye."

"Good work Sanji," Brook laughed to himself. "You're one step closer to taming the beast."

"Isn't it a bit much to call (Y/n) a beast?" Sanji cocked a brow at the skeleton.

"It's an expression," Brook's non-existent nose erupted like a volcano of gushing blood.

"What the hell?" Sanji furrowed his brow, turning around and caught his nose before the same would happen to him.

"Filthy perverts..." You tut figuring out exactly what the boys were doing.

"Come on!" Sanji exclaims pointing with his entire arm at your upper half. "You can't just walk around like that!" An open button up shirt that was strewn across your shoulders, only your bra was what kept your breast concealed. White bandages were wrapped tightly around your stomach, in which they concealed where Chopper had performed surgery on you days before.

^This is what you're wearing basically.

"I can and I will," you glared at Sanji. "It's too hot for me to wear my usual assassin get-up, and I don't own anything else that doesn't rough up my bandages. So I hope you don't mind I stole one of your shirts," it took a second, but Sanji noticed that you wore an old button up that he had owned well before the two year break. That floral shirt he had worn back in Skypiea. He only kept the article of clothing on hand just in case of emergencies.

She's even wearing my clothes! Winning (Y/n)'s love and affection is easier than I ever imagined!!! Sanji mentally yelled out to the world as his excitement was escalating to new lengths but knew better than to let you hear a thing so his mouth remained shut. "N-no I don't mind at all," Sanji played the entire thing cool and actually succeeds. "But that's quite different knowing you."

"The shirt isn't horrible," you mumbled. "But I truly don't like much of anything else you have because they are all too big, torn up, or too long of sleeves," you counted up to three with your fingers. "Besides I'm not just going to walk around in my bra, at least I have class to some agree."

"You got me there," Sanji chuckled.

"Then let's get off this ship," you rolled your eyes taking an exit with crossed arms and a strut to your step.

"Brook," Sanji sniffled keeping his nose bleed under control. "I think I just found my new Nami."

"Do you think she'll let me see her panties?" Brook ignored the cook.

"Betcha I'll see them before you," Sanji snickered.

"Want to wager?" Brook threw on his most serious face yet.

"I don't have anything in mind at the moment... But you cannot pants (Y/n) or look up her shirt. And bikinis don't count either. (Y/n) has to willingly show one of us," Sanji put out his hand. "Is that a deal Skeleton Boy?"

"A deal it is," Brook met Sanji and they shook to etch the bet in stone.

"Sanji!!!" You yelled with great annoyance from the dock.

"Coming my Beautiful!" Sanji darted off the ship with a skip in his step.

"About time," you groaned. "What the hell took you so long?"

"Brook tried to lean less than forty five degrees and got stuck."

"What?"

"Nevermind," Sanji whistled.

I planned for this chapter to be longer but I had a change in plans. The second half to this chapter that I have yet to upload is more than 3,000 words and still in progress. I wasn't going to have a 10,000 word chapter. So the next chapter will be fun on the new island since three choices on my last vote were tied. New Island, past revealed, and Marine attack. So I put something together for all three of your options.

Also... I now have to wear a wrist brace 24/7. My life is just a spiral of all things shit.
