So unfortunately my One Piece oneshot collection was deleted by Wattpad so Kid & Reader's backstory oneshot was deleted BUT I'll happily fill everyone in right here and now!!! I feel the need to explain the backstory now being that the Kid situation is finally taken care of, but also because I feel that Kid is too much of an important character in this book for how little he was brought up. So the backstory will explain his significance much better.

Prior to the Reader & Captain Kidd meeting, Reader explored the seas solo with occasional help from Trafalgar Law considering her heart situation. She doesn't join Law's crew full time as she hates the idea of always being on Law's ball & chain so she seeks him out whenever necessary.

One day, Admiral Smoker had successfully captured (Y/n) by ambushing her. Captain Kidd & his crew witnessed her capture and the Kidd Pirates devise a plan & succeed in rescuing (Y/n). They rescue her ONLY because they can't bare the idea of the Government winning. Much to Kidd's surprise, (Y/n) begs to tag along with their crew until she can get back on her feet since it's becoming progressingly difficult for her to traverse the Grand Line solo. Kidd doesn't agree at first but doesn't deny that she's a war machine & can't pass up such a great opportunity & allows her to be a temporary Kidd Pirate.

During her time with Kidd, she was welcomed into the crew with open arms & Kidd grew to respect her as she did him. Kidd knew that she wasn't a permanent member on the crew so he began to go above & beyond to keep her loyalty. Two of these acts that were mentioned in Crimson Chivalry's story so far include Kidd gifting (Y/n) her special one of a kind sword & Kidd saving (Y/n) once more when Mihawk & Zoro ambushed her during the 2 year time skip. Admittedly, Kidd DID win (Y/n) over. (Y/n) was content as a Kidd Pirate & genuinely wanted to stay. And if you remember, It is the unspoken truth but also a joke VERY early on in this book between my readers that Kid was the one guy crazy enough to sleep with the Reader in her crazed state. Well, he WAS the man who has successfully gotten (Y/n) in bed with him.

Where Kidd & (Y/n)'s relationship soured is when (Y/n) explained her past with the Government & her heart condition. Not only did Kidd not believe her, or at least he didn't believe most of her story, he further thought (Y/n) was putting together an elaborate lie in order to leave the crew since she needed to go & visit Law on such short notice. So, (Y/n) fled the Kidd Pirates in the middle of the night, got her heart surgery, then continued her previous lifestyle traveling alone since she knew Eustass saw her as a traitor.

Meanwhile (Y/n) was living upon the Sunny calling herself a Straw Hat, Kidd was actively seeking her out as he wanted her back on the crew.

Probably doesn't tell you too much more a out Kidd & (Y/n)'s past but I hope it helps you out at bit!!!
