Unfavorable Reacquaint
She wasn't prepared. (Y/n) was definitely not prepared for this. Not only was she given the job to provide all‐time security, but she also had to stay close to this man. Which meant that she had to live with him.
(Y/n) stood at the door contemplating what she had landed herself in. Her luggages were kept beside her on the ground. The only thing she had to do now was to ring the doorbell.
The female bodyguard gave out a long sigh.
First she misread the letter and thought she would finally meet Handa. Now she has to live with a man she barely knew and protect him from someone she hasn't been informed about.
Honda Kiku...
She wasn't supposed to be working for him. She was supposed to concentrate on her mission and find Handa. However, they told her to accept this job. This was the only way for her to get to stay in Japan and search for him. And she trusted only their words.
Moreover, this person named Kiku Honda intrigued her even more. There was something about him that made him distinct from the normal public. He wasn't someone belonging to a high status yet he needed protection.
"Was he a spy?" she thought.
Her mind ventured for possible answers but she soon realized that it was of no use. Right now, her job was to protect him from any kind of danger. If she could be of help to someone, she must try her best. Handa will be in her grasp sooner or later anyways.
(Y/n) took a deep breath and rang the doorbell. A few moments later, the door slid open.
"M‐Miss (Y/n)?"
"Good morning, sir. I...I..."
A deep blush spread on her cheeks as she saw him. Kiku's white yukata was drenched, making the fabric translucent and his slender chest visible. His dark wet hair was matted over his forehead while his pale skin glistened because of the sweat.
(Y/n) could feel the heat on her cheeks rise as she couldn't get her words out.
Kiku who was clueless about his own messy attire glanced down at her luggages. He looked at her and asked.
"May I ask what you came here for with this?"
"I‐I...was t‐told...to stay..." she stammered, totally flustered.
The man stared at her, confused.
(Y/n) averted her eyes and spoke softly. "Y‐Your clothes..."
Kiku blinked and looked down at his attire. His face reddened like an overripe tomato on realizing his current condition.
"This is disastrous!" he thought from embarrassment.
He quickly rushed inside to get an overcoat, leaving a surprised (Y/n) alone at the door. He soon came back and cleared his throat, his face however still holding a light blush.
"I am sorry for that," he said.
"I‐It's alright," (Y/n) looked down nervously.
An awkward silence prevailed between the two before Kiku spoke again. "Why don't we talk inside?"
The young bodyguard gave a slight nod and followed him inside, taking her luggage with her.
"This is going to be a hard job," she thought.
