I open my eyes startled by the loud crash. I jolted up suddenly when I saw a mans silhouette. Then he stepped into a sliver of moonlight that shown through the askew blinds from the struggle earlier that night. I saw a painfully beautiful face. His perfect lips and I wanted nothing more then to kiss them and those eyes the beautiful deep blue eyes that barred down at me looking into my very soul. Then I felt ashamed and embarrassed he saw me covered in blood and my dark brown eyes filled with the hate I felt for my father and my black hair all greasy and incrusted with dried out blood. So ashamed I couldn't look into those eyes I wouldn't I didn't deserve to look at them. So I looked away before I did I saw a hint of curiosity on his face.
In a deep voice and a determined look on his face he said. "Come on we have to go." He didn't give me anytime to respond. He just grabbed my wrist and jerked me from the floor. I wanted to ask his so many questions like what's his name, how did he get in my house, where is he taking me, why are is eyes so beautiful...wait is he single? Then all my thoughts stopped as blinding light intruded into my dark world. I looked through the door it was day, then I looked at my window it was night. I kept looking back and fourth searching for an answer. Then he spoke with another curios look on his face. "In your world do they not use magic?"
"Magic, no most people think it fake or an illusion. I guess I'm one of those people but not anymore." I probably had the most stupidest look on my face but I was awestruck. I couldn't believe my eyes because stood before me was a town square with all different colors and smells. Like the smell of bread baking and all the decorations on the merchant stands selling bracelets and others items like weapons. It was all so beautiful.
"Oh, well I'll explain what's going on once we get to our destination."
"Shouldn't I get cleaned up first I have all this- this blood on me it might attract attention?"
He put a devilishly handsome grin on his face. "That's what we want, anyway we have to go I don't want you to be late." After that we pulled me through the door and it shut behind use. When we started walking people started looking with all sorts of expressions. Most looked happy or exited what is wrong with these people if anybody saw me back home they'd call the police!
A mid teen not much younger than me skirted to me with flowers in her hand looking at me with long brown hair, big lambent dark blue eyes that could hypnotize you. With flowers in hand
started saying in a voice like no other. "Miss here are some flowers for our new savior you will do nicely." A boy the same age with short brown hair and dark brown eyes interrupts " Yes very nicely." They seemed to be a couple oh well. Then the strange boy dragged me further.
"We have no time for a conversations lets go." Pushing me away from the girl we tracked onward on my little adventure. After a little bit of walking me and the boy arrived at a mansion ascending five stories high and about the length of two football fields. It was beautiful with rose and ivy bushes climbing the walls the architecture was amazing in many places they'd put arches and paths leading outside with cherry tree pestles leaving natures art work behind.
As we entered the building the boy had a smile on his face. "You will love it here this has been my home for years and I never ran out of adventures. By the way my name is Thantos what's your name. I guess in all my excitement I for got to tell you." Finally I now his name but I speak up an tell him mine.
"Well Thantos, my name is Sorrow I'm happy to meet you but where am I and shouldn't I get cleaned up?" All I really wanted to know is why I'm here and why my heart is beating so fast I can already feel a connection between us. He didn't answer me so I spoke again this time stern. "Well why am I here." It was a pathetic attempt to make him answer but it worked he spoke back to me. "I'll explain later your right you need to clean up." He said this kind of disappointed.
"Well I'll show you to a shower but hurry up were are on a time limit."
" But what about clothes I just can't walk in where ever I'm going with this monstrosity?" I didn't want to look like a fool. I guess I was hiding my feeling to what I'd done. I didn't want to remember and with the blood covered clothes and face I just couldn't they weighed me down and I suddenly got tired. My thought were interpreted by Thantos's voice.
"Maids will bring you clothes I'm sorry I took you away you seem like your tired I will postpone our event." Then we started walking through a brilliant corridor with old painting and flowers of all different kind a lined the walls. He led me to a room with a bathing pool and showering stalls Thantos spoke again. "Clothes will be left out by maids if you need any help putting them on call Nina and just relax take a bath instead I will postpone like I said before." With that he left no since in waiting on some one. I took of my clothes off slowly because I was still sore from the last beating I got before I killed him. Bruises and cuts covered my back. But my father was right I didn't feel it any more I became immune to the abuse but it did hurt my heart every punch every beer bottle broken on my back all those days locked in closets they left scars on my body and my heart but they didn't hurt anymore. Just then two people walk in they were having a conversation but they stopped when they saw me my back facing toward them. The girls are about the same age as me like eighteen one of them had curly hair and big hazel eyes. The other one had blonde hair and big light blue eyes. Well it is a public bathroom they seemed to be covered in dirt so yeah that makes since. One of them started talking to me. "Oh hello we didn't know anybody was here we'll leave if you want?"
"No it's all right it is kinda public right my name is Sorrow come join me oh what's your names."
They came over covered in towels until they got into the water but some how bathing with strangers didn't feel so wired of maybe it's because they confident with their bodies. The blonde one spoke
"My name is Titania my friend over there is Kary we've been working here for probably our whole lives. You must be the new recruit we herd so much about. Man was Thantos excited to get you." She said this in a laughing manner. I had to ask.
"Why did Thantos bring me here? He said he'd explain once we got here but he didn't. When I asked him why I was here he just dodged the question." I wanted to get to the bottom of things Kary answered back
"Sorry we're at no liberty to tell you. We want to but can't on another note your first assignment was ruff with all those cuts and bruises". I guess these people need to know and I didnt want them to think I had a job here. I spoke up quite almost a whisper
"They were from my father he abused me I did something horrible to him but he didn't deserve it."
"What did you do?"
"I killed him" I spoke quickly so they wouldn't interrupt "I didn't mean to. All my anger just burst out of me after he called me his broken toy." Their was scorn in my voice and fire in my eyes but they didn't seem to judge. I dunked my head under water so I could get the blood out of it turning the bath water a light rusty brown color. Titania said.
"That's terrible what he did. Listen your gonna get torn up in training but let that anger drive you but find another emotion to drive you the rest of the way." She put on a charming smile as did Kary and I knew that we were all going to be friends. But I still wonder why I'm here let's look at the evidence I'm in a town that has magic, they said I'd get torn up in training. All I could think of is a like magic academy I'll ask. "Can I ask yes and no questions and you guys answer me?"
"I think so yeah okay what's your question?" Kary asked.
"Well is this some kinda magic school?"
"Sort of." She seemed happy that I asked that at least I'm close to knowing. At least my mind can rest.
I have all the blood off me so I get out of the bath tub and into a towel in like three seconds because I forgot to get one. I went to the changing area and sure enough there are some clothes on a bench folded from right now all I see is blood red. Walking up to it putting it on slowly. I look in the full size mirror in the Conor of the big dressing room it was blood red dress that went to my ankle that had no straps and hugged my waist with scrunchy fabric that smoothed into another layer of fabric that had a white bow in the middle front. My shoes were black boots climbing my leg until it got to my knees almost like long combat boots. There was a white ribbon left on the bench I used that to put up my hair in a side pony tail at the bottom of my hair it curled up perfectly. I looked in the mirror again my raven black hair and my dark brown eyes, a little nose, big lips. I remember mom telling me that all the boys liked girls like me she said they like girls who are strong, proud, independent. I didn't believe her though because I was in the sixth grade when she died so every one left me alone that year I had no friends and certainly no boyfriends even before her accident. I don't know what happened to her as much as I should know. All I knew is that she died I was heart broken that's when father started hitting harder. Maybe that was his way of expressing his feelings no he hit me because he loved me that makes since. I was still staring in the mirror when Titania and Kary walked in. They both gasp Titania saying. "You look amazing and that dress is. It's lovely." She had a proud look on her face as though I never dressed like this. Well she's right I haven't all ways worn boy clothes after mom died because dad wanted a boy. But before she past I wore at least some girl clothes.
Kary saying. "We will take you to Thantos he asked us to." I did want to see him again. "But can I do your hair have a good idea?"
"Sure." I was kind of confused. But they were more trained at being a girl then I am so I let her. She took out the ribbon brushed my hair then put it into a French braid to the side leaving my bangs out then putting tiny white flowers in my hair making it look like a midnight sky filled with stars. "Are you done." I asked marveling at her handy work.
"Yup lets go." She grabbed my wrist and pulled me out the door they started another conversation but I was lost in thoughts wondering what's in store for me in the future until Kary asked. "What yours?"
"My what?" I would pay attention more.
Titania answered patiently. "What's your magical weapon mine is a gun that runs on the hatred of those God forsaken demons." Kary interrupted.
"Mine is a noose. Well it a rope but I can make it into a noose by using telekinesis." I have no idea what they're exalting about but I answer truthfully.
"I don't know. I just got taken away from my life Thantos just saved me from the cops. But those sound like cool weapons I wonder what mine is going to be. Say Titania what do you think mine is going to be. Oh do you think it's going to be something cool like bow and flaming arrows!"
She laughed. "Haha no I don't think so but that would be cool." We all started laughing. In a few more moments we arrived at a huge door tall enough to fit a giant. It's decorated with flower and other such carvings colored a dark brown. Kary and Titania started walking in the doors so I did to what lie beyond those doors was even more beautiful than the hallways. The floor was so white and shiny you could eat of it. Big windows aligned the walls on each side covered with big pale green curtains opened to see the sun shining on the garden that's outside a stage at the back of the room maybe three feet of the ground. When i was looking around I didn't see Thantos so I asked
"Where's Thantos you said you'd Bring me to him?" They both raised their eyebrows at me to signify that I liked him Kary said.
"He'll be here, were showing you off to all the reapers so he's probably going to be on stage and then you'll be invited up there the whole Shabang." So he's going to help show me off cool hopefully he'll like my dress.
Everybody started pouring in. I guess we were way early because people brought in chairs and tables food to go on the tables. But nobody looked like they got dressed up some were better outfits then others but all casual. Probably so people will notice me and it worked all the men looked ready to pounce right on top of me. All the girls besides Titania and Kary looked envious then somebody our age with brown hair maybe a butler handsome but doesn't hold a candle to Thantos. The red curtains that were behind him opened reveled Thantos and an older gentlemen almost as hot but I don't have a thing for old guys. The butler spoke.
"It is my great honor and privilege to introduce the person to make the Black Tiger Lily possible the founder of this great guild of slayers and his son the heir to is legacy Grim and Thantos reaper. Now I hand the stage of to Grim. The older man steps up but is see the resemblance between them know he's not that old he just has his hair dyed gray or born with it light brown eyes almost yellow the same perfect lips. Thantos's mom knew how to pick 'em. By this time me and every body else got into a chair Titania and Kary sitting on ether side of me and Grim started talking.
"Thank you but this evening isn't about me my son Thantos went to the demon world and found an interesting person so this evening is about her." Then Titania leaned to me saying.
"The demon world is the human world because all the negative energy makes them stronger." We returned to the speech grim saying.
"She will be a great asset to this hodgepodge family now-" he got cut off by a loud crash and people with all different colored skin came in and that girl who tried to give me flowers. But she was morphing right before my eyes turning into red skinned being with long blonde hair and pitch black eyes. So these were demons they looked strong but my friends could take them. But when I turned around every body had terror on their faces grim spoke again this time in a deeper more menacing voice. "Demon what have you done with my hunters." This time that girl spoke.
" don't worry they know what's going on they're just in their worst nightmare. They can hear us and they can see us that's all that matters." She put a pouty face on. "All you need to do is pay attention to me." She sounded like a little girl who didn't get the doll she wanted. One of her underlings went straight for me holding me back from Thantos's protection he spoke.
"What about this one why isn't she in her nightmares?" He grabbed my face and licked my check. "She tastes good can we eat her please she would taste grate in my mouth." That girl spoke.
"Gluttony she's the reason why we're here. Hold her tight she may use magic to break loose. When I tried to give her flowers I could since very powerful magic." I looked to Thantos struggling against this demon named Gluttony and he spoke.
"But Mercy she taste like candy."
"That's enough out of you." She also looked to Thantos hungry for power. "But Grim if you give me your dear son then I will give the girl back." I saw Thantos's face and it had no hint of emotion what so ever Grim spoke again.
"Not a chance you won't get Thantos and you won't get Sorrow either." Then Gluttony grabbed my hair and pulled me down on the ground and started kicking me in the stomach over and over but I did not scream he lifted my ear to his mouth and hissed. " Scream for me let me hear the agony in your pathetic life." at that moment Titania got up and smacked him right across his face her eyes were dark she was come cool collected ready to strike if the demon got up
"You will not touch my friend she is under my protection." I could see a prickle of tears I wonder what was left behind in the past that she had to carry with her. Gluttony grabbed by the leg flung her across the room and enjoyed her cry of pain the he ran with lighting speed and smacked her back her screaming once more. Watching him beating my friend was unacceptable I couldn't stand watching I had to do something I was strong enough or so I think. I stand up determined then Mercy and Grim stop bickering in the back round and Gluttony stopped hitting Titania. They all looked in horror. I could feel my transformation something sprouted from my back it hurt just a little horn grew from one side of my head my hair was out of its braid parted on each shoulder longer than before one side was white the other side was my normal hair color. A long flowing dress formed on me and my shoes disappeared I look at the window it was sunset so I could see my reflection and I had a halo. My right side was a demon and the left side an angel the wings that sprouted out one black one white big on my back but fitting. My right eye had a crack through it even though I could see just fine. I could feel power manifesting within me and I knew I could KILL THEM ALL.
