Already Gone
Remember all the things we wanted?
Spencer Reid, an ambitious, highly educated young man of only 22 when he joined the BAU. Jennifer Jareau the communications liaison who had dreams of becoming more. Derek Morgan, who wanted nothing more than to save people from suffering the same fate he had. Penelope Garcia, living proof that people can and do change. Emily Prentiss, the agent with a long history. David Rossi, an old timer in the force, who left a trail of broken hearts in his wake. Aaron Hotchner, the man who had everything he ever dreamed.
Now all our memories, they're haunted.
"I love you."
Aaron and Reid lost the love of their lives.
"Please stay."
Rossi lost a second chance with a woman he loved.
"I was pregnant."
Jennifer lost her child.
"I got here by myself!"
Morgan lost his childhood.
"I'm scared."
Emily lost her friends.
"I'm not like you."
Penelope had to move on.
We were always meant to say goodbye.
Aaron left his spot at the BAU for Emily. He needed time for his son and his family.
But he couldn't ever forget his second family. That's why it hurt him to leave.
Derek left to spend time with his newly born son. He gave his middle name to Spencer.
For the best little brother any guy could ask for.
Penelope was the last to leave. She almost couldn't, she had so many strings there. Her heart ached to have to finally say goodbye.
Even with our fist held high...
Aaron was happy when that bastard Foyet died. He deserved it, for killing his wife.
Derek was numb at the news of his abusers death. He never could forgive him for what he had done.
Emily got to witness the death of her greatest enemy, but at the cost of seeing his son witness it too. His son was so young. No one's child deserves that.
Spencer fought to stay alive. First after the death of the girl he fell in love with, then with his addiction. It was life he won his battle against.
It never would've turned out right.
They still see them sometimes. They haunt their dreams, the echos of gunfire and blood.
But they were the bad guys. They won. They should feel good!
Right?
We were never meant for do or die.
Gideon's greatest enemy caught up with him. The team couldn't protect him, they couldn't save him. All he did when he left was leave Spencer a note.
They lost him twice, and all they got for it was bittersweet memories of a better time. A better time, when Gideon was still alive.
I want you to know, that it doesn't matter
After a while, they learned to ignore them. The feelings and the memories that came with it. Good or bad. They drowned them out with new ones, like karaoke and girls nights (that often times turned into team outings).
People came, people left. But sometimes they'll see that empty chair...and remember.
Where we take this road. Someone's gotta go.
In due time, they'll all leave. They'll have their own families to take care of, they're own reasons for leaving. But the BAU is family, and none of them would ever forget one another.
Ever.
And I want you to know, you couldn't have loved me better.
No matter what happened, wether it be death or change or acceptance, they were always there for one another. It was hard sometimes, but they always got there. They always had each other's backs.
But I want you to move on.
They all had to say goodbye. But it wasn't forever. And they would always love each other. Families are like that.
Sometimes they have group calls, to catch up and reminisce about "the good ol' days". Normally these calls ended with someone crying. It was normally Spencer, though he never admitted it. He would always blame Garcia.
So I'm already gone.

Sorry this one is so short, but it's my first time writing in a while. I'm binge watching CM again and I'm getting close to the end, so I'm kinda sad now.
I hope you liked it. Happy Halloween! 🎃💗
