Spencer's Sister 1
-Guinevere-
I walked out into the BAU and looked around and I tried to find the person I was looking for. He was supposed to be meeting me at the airport and he didn't show.
"Hello, I'm looking for Dr Spencer Reid." I spoke with one of the agents sitting at the desk.
"Dr Reid is on a case at the moment, can i help you?" he wondered standing up to face me
"No, no. Do you know when he'll be back or anything? I've been trying to get through to him but he's not picking up." I sigh, he looked apprehensive and I rubbed my temples "How about Penelope Garcia, can I speak with her?" he nodded and left me standing at his desk.
"I'm Penelope Garcia, you said you wanted to speak with me?" I turned to a vibrant red head who looked confused
"Yes, I'm Guinevere Reid, Spencer's sister. He was supposed to pick me up from the airport but never did, apparently he's on a case which is fine but he's not answering nor did he tell me that he wouldn't be able to pick him up." I explained walking away with her
"Your his sister, oh my god, i should have known." she slapped her forehead and I smiled chuckling slightly.
"Yes, I figured that if he wasn't here chances are you would be and maybe you can get him to pick up so I can rip him a new one for ditching me." she lead me into her office
"of course, of course, give me a sec." she made the phone call and he answered
"Hey, Garcia what you got." the kind tech looked up at me
"Your sister, you smart ass." I answered. I could mentally visualise him wincing hearing my voice "Sending me to voice mail and ditching me is a crap move and I'm gonna rat you out to Mom." I could see how amused Garcia was.
"Gwen, I am so sorry I...."
"Nah uh you are a shitty liar and when I'm done here I'm snitching on you. No call or text, I was waiting for three hours and then I find out your screening my calls and on a case." I scowled I was so telling Mom. He sighed
"Look, we're heading back now, can you just wait there and I will explain everything. Please." he pleaded with me
"Fine, but you owe me." he hung up and I looked over to my brother's college
"You know you're not what I imagine Reid's sister to look like." she commented glancing over me. I laughed
"Yeah, fraternal twins, I look like Mom but apparently have my Dad's brain. He looks like Dad but is as smart as Mom. It's complicated being the twin sister of a child genius." I sat down in a chair she offered.
"So what brings you to Virginia ?" she wondered
"Time off. I'm on my way back home to see our Mom and Spencer suggested we go together." I looked down. "Like my brother, my work keeps me busy. So I don't visit often." My phone started ringing and I stepped away.
-------
I was waiting at Spencer's desk, Garcia was kind enough to informed me that they had landed and was returning. I sat on his desk with my arms folded when he entered sheepishly.
"Gwen, I'm so sorry. I forgot and I didn't...." he started
"I'm still telling Mom." I interrupted him and there was a ohhh sound "Three hours I was there, that's just down right cruel. Now are you finally going to introduce me to your team or try and wriggle out of me snitching on you?" he sighed and nodded
"Derek Morgan, Emily Premiss, David Rossi, and my boss Aaron Hotchner. This is my sister Gwen." he introduced us and I shook each of their hands
"Reid you didn't mention you had a sister." Morgan commented
"And I take no offence to that at all. Despite the fact I have on more than one occasion saved his ass through the years. He has a knack for it." I grin "It's nice to finally meet you all. I do apologise that it has taken this long but like my brother my work keeps me busy."
"What is it that you do?" Emily wonders
"Antiquities." I told her "I am a buyer, seller, and future antique myself." I joke making them smile
"I work for many a clientele all over the world. But I have taken some needed time off before I burn myself out and it's Spencer who needs to rescue me this time. I hope you don't mind me borrowing him for the week. We've needed a long over due catch up." I lean on Spence's shoulder and he stands there awkwardly
"Not at all have a good trip. It was nice to meet you Gwen." Agent Hotchner gave a rare smile. Then left for his office.
"You know I have always wondered what smart ass would be like with a sibling, you're not at all what I expected." Morgan commented
"Thank you." I chime then nudge my brother "Are you still the smartest person in the room."
"The probability of that..."
"I will take that as a yes. come on our flight leaves in the morning and you promised that I can crash at yours." he grabbed my bag and we said our goodbye's.
When we reached his apartment he placed my bag down and I looked around at the library he lived in.
"You know for all my teasing and annoyance I have missed you bro." I say turning to him.
"I know, I missed you too." he brushed some of his hair back and I walked over to him
"You should cut your hair, and have you been eating? You're still scrawny. How do you take down the bad guys without..." i stopped "Sorry." he shook his head and chuckled
"No, it's fine." I step away "You sound just like Mom."
"Well she's right, we only want you to be healthy. brains can only get you so far, Spence. And I'm not always there." he sat down and i copied
"Gwen, you haven been there since Mom was..." he trailed off
"Don't, don't do that." I point at him standing up and walking over to the window "We both agreed that it was the best choice, we had no choice. She was sick and she was taking me with her, you weren't there you were so far ahead and you only helped when I was put into hospital with exhaustion. We were children not her adult carers."
"I know."
"Yet you still blame me for leaving right after." I grumble
"It was the day after. G."
"So, I had enough, she was in a safe place and we were finally on the same page of this complicated messed up ride we had been on since Dad ditched us. I needed a fresh start." I retort
"So you put an ocean between us." he sighed
"You always say that like it's a bad thing." I mumble "Besides it's not like I don't write or call, and you haven't even told your team about me." I turn to him
"Every time we see each other, we always have the same fight. Always, I'm pissed you kept excelling and leaving me to deal with mom and you waited till I was in hospital to do anything. You're mad because I hightailed it as soon as possible. Every freaking time." he stood and came over.
"And every time we promise we won't fight about it anymore. I know. It's just....hard and complicated. You and Mom are the only ones to ever really understand me and being away from the both of you it's not easy." My phone started to ring again.
"I need to get that."
"I thought you were on holiday?" I ignored him and went to take the call
