We're In

❤️💜8K Y'ALL💜❤️

---Dust's POV----

We trekked through the forest quickly, aiming to get to Craitown as quick as possible.

Miraculously, the creeper vines in the corrupted forest didn't give us much trouble. Nightmare had given us some weird smelling ball of flowers saying 'chuck this near some creeper vines and they'll go ballistic over it. You'll be able to walk right past them no problem'.

Surprisingly enough, it worked. Those vines were on that flower ball in a frenzy, ripping it to shreds without hesitation.

I shivered at the thought of that being me. I mean, last time I came through here with the others I was nearly crushed to death by those killer creeper vines. But luckily Cross saved all of us. That's when we properly accepted him into our group actually.

I have to admit, I'm extremely excited at the moment from the thought of breaking into prisons and doing illegal stuff like we used to fifteen years ago.

Thinking about it, I'd quite like to see what Killers been up to recently. He wasn't with anyone in a relationship last time I saw him. But that was fifteen years ago after all...

But if I'm honest, I can't really imagine Killer being with someone anyway. He's never really been into romance. But then again, that's what I thought about myself before I saved Blue in that snow storm all those years ago.

That day really kickstarted our main adventure as a gang. I saved Blue, then Nightmare forced us to take in a psychopathic skeleton that's possessed by a ghost, and then the police took in those new officers, and then we had to run and Geno got caught, and then we trekked for hours to get to Nightmare's 'elusive haven', and then we went and broke our teammates out of prison, forgot Geno and found our happily ever after. What a perfect fairytale ending.

I was snapped out of my thoughts as I slammed into a tree, having not been looking where I was going. I fell back to the floor, groaning in pain while Horror and Lust simply laughed at me. Just like old times.

"Owwww..." I whined, gladly taking Horror's outstretched hand.

"Head in the clouds as usual, hm?" He asked, snickering.

I groaned softly, nodding as I stood back up. "All of this is just making me think of the old times..."

Horror nudged me, nodding. "I know what you mean. I'm having intense-flashback-syndrome."

I snickered, glancing at the masked kid that was still staying silent ahead of us. He hadn't said said much since we'd left the mansion, and wasn't really making an effort to start a conversation. Most of our journey had been in silence apart from now.

"Are we nearly there yetttt?" Lust whined from behind me, leaning against Horror slightly.

For the first time in a while, the masked kid spoke. "A few more minutes and we'll reach the boarder."

"Really?" Lust asked hopefully.

"Yes."

I laughed. "I was expecting him to say no."

Horror smirked. "Same."

"Oh how he's failed our expectations."

The kid rolled his eyes. "Well if you want this to take an extra hour it can."

I shook my head. "As exciting as that sounds, I think I'll pass."

"Oh wow. Defying my expectations."

We all laughed, and surprisingly the kid let out a little snicker. The first time I've heard him come close to laughing I believe.

"Well in all reality." He said, speeding up slightly. "We're here."

I blinked, jogging in front of him.

There it was. Craitown. We'd reached the boarder. Through the trees I could see the infamous river that I had been thrown over by Nightmare on the day of our chase. And then behind that river, were the tall buildings of Craitown. The small cottages and houses were at the front, along with all the little independent shops. Then further back were all the apartment blocks, the buildings where Horror and Lust apparently lived.

Seeing as it was still dark, the whole town was lit up with street lamps and house lights. It gave the whole town a rather nice effect. As if it was glowing almost.

"Lets move..." The masked kid said, slipping out of the trees before walking over to the helpfully built bridge that now traveled over the river.

The three of us followed quickly, glancing around warily as we crossed over the wooden bridge.

"Do you really think we'll succeed at breaking Error out of prison?" I asked, glancing at the masked kid.

"Well I hope so." He muttered. "I mean, I would try to do this on my own, that would be my preferred method."

"Uh then why are we here?" Horror grunted, eyeing him suspiciously.

"Because Error's soul is being kept on the other side of the prison in an equally fortified cell that's also guarded. I'll need you three to get that out while I free Error."

"Are you serious?!" I asked. "Having your soul that far away from you should kill you!"

The masked kid winced. "It should be impossible. But the police force joined up with some scientist guy, and he found out a way to make it work."

I shuddered. "Still. That would make you so incredibly weak and vulnerable..."

"That's the whole point...They were going to do the same thing to your friend, Nightmare. But he broke you guys out before they even had the chance. So they did it immediately for Error, not wanting to take the risk again..."

Lust narrowed his eyes, glaring at him as we walked. "How do you know so much about all this?"

I frowned. I'd been thinking the same thing actually.

"I studied." Was his simple answer. "I've been planning this for over a year. I'm not giving up now."

"Woah..."

We went silent for a bit before I spoke up again. "Hey...kid?"

"Hm?"

"Why do you care so much about breaking Error free? I doubt you know him."

He flinched, going silent for a bit. "Oh I know him..." He muttered. "You don't need to know how or why yet. But he'll tell you soon enough...I guarantee..."

I glanced at Horror and lust warily; they shrugged in response.

"Lets just get this over with." Horror said. "The quicker we break Error out, the quicker we can get our answers."

The masked kid nodded, snorting. "Well you three better get ready. We're here."

I froze, stopping as I looked up at the tall iron gates in front of me. "The one place I thought I'd never go into by choice..."

Horror sighed. "Worded my thoughts exactly..."

Lust shivered, clinging to Horror tightly as he eyed the tall building. "I-Is it too late to back out?"

The masked kid snorted, walking over to the tall fencing before tossing his backpack over. "Yes. It's way too late to back out."

I glanced over at the torchlit watch towers, where the silhouettes of two officers could be seen keeping watch. "How do we make sure they don't see us?"

"I know their search patterns, we'll have a thirty second time span to climb over these gates and drop to the other side. Once there we all need to stick to the walls. I know the searchlights blind spots, don't worry."

"Wow. You really have planned this out, haven't you?" Horror noted, already getting ready to climb up the gates.

"You could say..." He muttered, glancing down at a watch on his wrist. "When I say, go."

We all nodded, and waited for about a minute before he quietly yelled go.

Before we even had time to react, he was up and over the fence like a squirrel, making me think of Geno.

Horror wasted no time by boosting Lust up and over before scrambling over himself with a little difficulty. They both landed with a thump on the other side before being dragged off to the prison wall by the kid where he then shoved them in a bush.

"Come on!" The kid hissed, looking over at the searchlight that was steadily sweeping its way over. "Ten seconds!"

I scrambled up, cursing as my shoes didn't help me at all on the thin, slippy railing.

Somehow I managed to haul myself over and collapse onto the Grass on the other side before I was yanked over into a bush, the searchlight just brushing over the tips of my trainers.

We all lay there, panting.

"Holy shit..." I muttered. "We're in."
